My Dell 4300 computer came with Corel Wordperfect productivity package. The tutorial that came with it is not helpful and there are no directions available for how-to-use. It is frustrating. Microsoft Office Works is far easier.

VASTLY superior to Microsoft Office. Faster, more stable, and WordPerfect's reveal codes make it much easier to use. Ot costs less than Microsoft, and you can get the job done faster. Ther is absolutely no logical reason to use MS office when WordPerfect is so much better, faster, ans reliable.

Corel WordPerfect Suite seems to be the primary competitor to Microsoft Office. Corel's suite generally comes with WordPerfect (a word processor), Quattro (a spreadsheet), various other programs that are designed to compete with PowerPoint, etc, and sundry wizards, utilities, etc (eg an address book). As I prefer WordPerfect over Word, this is the package I choose; moreover, the Corel suite is usually less expensive than Microsoft's, and I get the added satisfaction of not allowing Microsoft monopolize the office suite market. The problem is that while I prefer WordPerfect over Word, I prefer Excel over Quattro, which results in a loss of a star.

I'm using Word Perfect Office Suite 2000 - standard edition. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my old inexpensive OEM version was able to be installed on a new Windows XP machine. I though I was going to have spend some big bucks on a newer version. I mostly use the word processing portion of the suite (WordPerfect 9) and like it as much as MS Word 2000 and 2002.

Not as bad as some, but at school we have tons of problems. The biggest is it not wanting to work with a networked printer. Who gets to sort out these problems . . . I do . . . no thanks, easier to use M$ Office.

Word Perfect Suite is for the power user. It is light years beyond the competition.
