Essential for me to be able to read through user reviews and their experince with a product. Moderate and bad reviews are still considered, because I have a much better idea of the actual quality of the product versus the extremely dense and meaningless market jumble that usually accompanys a products description. New Egg.com is a great example of an active user review community.

Absolutely essential for electronic goods and expensive items. I usually try to get reviews from several different sites when I'm making a online product decision.

I take consumer reviews with a grain of salt as many can be inflated by the companies employees or people hired to inflate ratings or even brand fanboys. I would prefer a professional unbiased review.

I don't like to buy anything without really having my hands on it first, but sometimes that's not an option. Reading reviews from people who already have the product really helps in that situation.

Im rating consumer reviews like this site; reviwes that are actually by the common ordnary person. Consumer Reports cannot be trusted becuase it seems like everything is biased these days. Anyway, isn't consumer reviews what this site is all about?

I like this feature a lot. We have found the comsumer reviews very helpful. We always read reviews on items we are considering purchasing. Reading about other peoples' experiences with a product has really helped us to decide whether to buy an item or not. This is why we like to read RATEITALL. Reading other opinions can really be helpful.and can save a lot of headache. Especially if someone is buying something that is real expensive.

The only way any online company will sway my opinion is REAL customer opinions of their product. I can't stress enough the REAL part of it not those canned-ham version that have customer quotations in the small bordered, made to look like paper, boxes. I want a real time chat or forum where people can freely and openly discuss their product success and failures. It also looks bad in my opinion if the company omits details about product problems, we all know no one is perfect and I want to see some of the potential dislikes of any item. Just my $0.02

I think that reviews on websites are very important to product purhcasing. I look at reviews before I download software, But electronics, Sign up for internet/other services, buy cars, buy almost anything... But reviews on products can be dieciveing. Some people may lie about the products and ofteen reviews stuff thet they have not yet personally tested, and some people often make a mistake and review the wrong product... things can happen to one person and not the other. That's the only downside.... Sites like these have a real huge impact on what pepole buy/sign up for. My fav review sites are rateitall/epnions/audio review. I also look at the customer feedback places of the offical companies and sometimes they have some of thier customers' comments on there. I think that raitngs sites have a huge impact on companies and I liek reviewing stuff and helping consumers. I have been rating stuff for a few years now and It is one of my favorite things to do on the internet. I respect people ... Read more

I always read the online consumer product reviews before buying just about anything online. My personal favorite is the reviews on Amazon.com. It is interesting listening to other peoples opinions about certain products that I'm about to buy on-line. If it is reported that the product is bad or the host companies service is poor by reviewers, then I will not buy a product. That is the great part about the world wide web; it keeps companies responsible about the level of service they provide.

Reviews are somewhat important in the positive spectrum, but in the negative it's a hell of a lot more entertaining. For instance read any review of 'Freddy Got Fingered' or 'Battlefield Earth' and I'm sure your day will be much brighter.

I am highly influenced by consumer reviews, and I use them whenever I can to make purchasing decisions. While "Consumer Reports" and similar sources do a very good job pointing out important things to consider before making a purchase, nothing can compare to reading about the experiences of "real" people who have used a product themselves. From my experience, it has been worth the time to find and read consumer product reviews before buying just about anything.
