Mon Dec 22 2003Just to respond to the other post: 1. Dell support sucks as well. They are just better at making you think they are better. It is called marketing. Companies like Dell, HP, etc.. tend to evaluate each other's support offerings and match. So there isn't much difference. 2. The longhorn warning is pure bull. I am running longhorn as an early developer. The confusion has to do with DRM and it's obvious the poster doesn't understand this technology. 3. Finally, longhorn won't be out next year anyway, and home users would probably not want to upgrade for at least 2 years. So, no biggie. It's no guarantee that existing computers will run the final version of longhorn correctly anyway. 4. Finally -- the Evo line is a business desktop. Thu Aug 21 2003Pretty good computers ranging from average to good performance with 256MB RAM. I would not recommend less than that if you are running WINXP. this OS is the most RAM/CPU cycle hog Ive seen that's out now, Do not get longhorn when it come out next year... it will tell microsoft whatever you are downloding and it will report whatever tracks (music files) you have on your system to the recording industry association of america (RIAA) and they will arrest you! XP allready has the reporting with WinMedia9 series! So please hide your music files and back up to cd as soon as possible!!!! These systems have average expandablitiy and run at about 800-2000US$ I would recommend thyis to more experinced people because thier support is not all that great and you only get a one year warranty. These systems are not recommended for newbies. For newbies I recommend getting the midrange-higher class systems becuase dell has a class system and they base your support on how much the system costed. I think... Read more
