Basically it was a longer cartoon version of the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial. Overall I liked it.

A couple funny parts but nothing all that good. It was a generic coke commercial with the Simpson's brand on it.

It is still not close to "I'd like to teach the world to sing" Coca Cola with its money should be making commercial communications that changes the world.. who cares about Burns anyway... Have Obama give Osama a Coke and now you would have somethoing.. Kimo Kekahuna-Vail Formerly of Y&R/, JWT, WM Morris Agency

Another year like this and it won't even warrant a list on this website. Kudos to the other reviewer who said it better than me - The Simpsons as an ad pitch peaked about ten years ago. It seemed like an anachronism to me.

It got my attention and that of many others I'm sure. The Simpsons still have a lot of appeal. However, the commercial just didn't make sense. It was the Simpsons just for the sake of having them. It wasn't funny and there was no punch line. The only thing I took away from this is that Apu definitely isn't a hateful dude.

This felt like a desperate and somewhat dubious co-brand to me, scripted by someone who was never really a big fan of the show. None of the characters feel authentic. Regardless, it comes about 10 years too late for Coke, since the Simpsons stopped being funny about a decade ago.

the reaction was more like "huh?" Mr. Burns was the meanest man in town. he would deserve to lose all that money considering how greedy and horrible he is. cannot imagine anyone feeling sorry for him.if other people were down on their luck, he would take their last coke along with the shirt on their back etc. not a real feel good commercial.

Aside from the fact that the Simpsons are losing their campy appeal, this ad sends a weird mixed messege to the audience. The idea that a billionare that for years has treated eveyone like "spit" because he's rich and their not, looses everything is an interesting, but doubtfull prospect. However, the notion that everyone is going to feel sorry for him because he's broke and then accept him as one of their own...not likely.

Simpsons rock, the part with them holding Burns up at the end was kind of wierd though.
