Sat Jan 30 2010The Chicago Police Honor Guard has their shoes turned into tomb soles by Cobbler's Rogers Park Shoe Repair. We were mailing our shoes to Alexandria, Va. and waiting up to 6 months for completion. John and Martha have a turn around time down to two weeks. Their quality and dedication to perfection are second to none. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Wed Apr 09 2008This is the second time I've taken my shoes here. Each time they've done top-quality work. Additionally, they always go the extra mile. I recently brought in a pair of shoes to have a hole fixed. Not only did they do a great job with the repair, they oiled and shined my shoes and fixed the frayed laces. Highly recommended.

Sun Jan 06 2008I brought in a tan tote bag to be dyed black. The cobbler assured me the straps would not leak ink onto my hands and that it would be an easy job. I came in the day he said it would be ready and it was not ready. I came back and got my tote, now dyed black. What a total mistake, it is ruined. He got dye all over the inside lining, did a lousy job with the details AND my hands turned black after using the purse. It is now unusable unless I get the straps changed. The bag looks used, as if I bought it from a thrift store. It probably was a mistake getting the tote dyed. It definitely was a mistake going to Cobbler's on Morse.

Did you bother to take it back to the cobbler? I can understand being upset because it wasn't finished by the time he told you, but then again, as humans We'll always twist a story and exaggerate a few bits, or even leave out a few to better suit us. I mean honestly you should've brought it back, as for rubbing o... Read more

Thu Jul 19 2007My shoes were similar to a patient on the operating table in an episode of House... none of the doctors have seen anything like it before: terrible cavities in the soles, a curled shape reminiscent of a sclerosis patient, a complexion completely faded by overexposure to elements... Enter Doctor House, who in my case, is the owner of Cobbler's Shoe Repair. After a look at the shoes an inch from death, he peeks over his glasses with good news: they're going to make it. Better still, it takes him less than a week, even though the shelves of shoes behind the counter are by no means empty, but are filled with hundreds of other leathery survivors. The total is $70.00, and considering I paid $100.00 for them brand new and they're now in much better condition than they were new, i'm very pleased. He uses good materials, so it no longer feels as though I'm walking in moccasins as it did in the same shoes when I bought them. Also, he and his wife had helpful advice on keeping the shoes maintaine... Read more
