Clinique Facial Soap

I too have used Clinique ( by Estee Lauder ) products for years, a friend in High School Recommended it... I kept my facial bar soap in a cabinet in my shower and I noticed a black lump forming on it on the top end... I took pictures of it and then removed the lump which was some black fuzzy thing about 1/4". Ya what is supposed to be in it and were is there Quality Control?? Contacting them has become futile.. No longer Buying any Clinique or Estee Lauder products!

I used to love the Clinique Facial Soap. The soap really makes your skin feel great and does not over-dry it. The only reason I stopped using this was the price.

This is a good mild formula facial bar that comes in different formulas according to skin type. It does not dry out the skin and it comes with a cute plastic holder so that it does not melt on your bathroom counter or soap dish. If you use it in the shower, put it back in the holder when you get out because it will melt more quickly in a damp environment. It's hypo-allergenic and is very gentle. If you go away for the weekend and try to use it, it will be kind of dried out and you'll need to really wet it to get it to lather again.

I've been using the Clinique 3-step system faithfully for years with stunning results! The product is not all that expensive in comparison to amount you have to use and the product DOES come with a guarantee in case it doesn't work for you.

I have been using the mild clinique soap for 5 years on oily skin and with no problem but last year my skin started drying out - this soap in fact made my oily skin so dry that I had red patches for many months. tHis soap will strip the oil from the skin gradually. It is the worse product I have ever used - even if it seems it is great for a while or a few years son't be mistaken it won't last forever - it will dry the skin eventually. My red patches actually were eczema which I have never had all my life. Since off this product now, it is better gradually. A lot of their products are not for sensitive skin - stay away from them.

I used to always receive compliments on my soft clear skin. But, had developed pretty oily skin midway through my 9th grade year, and it was becoming a problem. The oil production was also causing at least 1 breakout every week. I discovered Clinique at a small department store where I lived. I'd heard about it before and decided to try it. The sales woman explained exactly how I should use it, and she presented a reasonable time that it would take to get noticeable results. It seemed to work in the beginning, although I noticed that the moisturizer (DDG) left my skin a little parched. Sometime later, I tried a new mineral powder (LOreal Bare Naturale). After a few weeks, I starting breaking out all over. The pimples were primarily on my forehead and I also had tiny rough bumps all over that area of skin. I had to stop using the makeup. This soap gave me the same results as a larger, $5 cleansing bar bought from Walgreens. It's honestly nothing special- which is surprising since Clinique is one of those high-name brands of cosmetics found in expensive department stores. I bought the Mild bar which the Clinique cosmetologist recommended to me, and I found that I had to actually wash twice with it to get all the oils off my skin- which brings me to another point I didn't like about this soap; only wash once, and it doesn't remove all the oils. Wash twice, and it removes ALL the oils, including the ones that keep your skin from getting dried out (which are not the ones that cause acne). I always had to use lotion afterwards or my face would feel dry for HOURS until it managed to re-moisturize itself by secreting natural skin oils. Actually it is not about the cost of the product for me tho it is a consideration. It is about how Clinique wants you to believe you are getting something unique. I have used the 3 step system and do not find it any better than what I can find at my local drugstore. In fact the new Almay 3 step system is quite good and more compatible with a variety of skintypes. Also if you want a less expensive Clinique basics type system try your local beauty supply store such as Sally's. I recently did and found the ingredients to be the same. In fact this line might even be a subsidiary of the Clinique parent company like how Loreal is to Lancome.

Clinique is alright. I am irritated that you can't find the ingredients on their soap. I'm pretty sure the facial soap is lye soap. Which is okay. The three step process is just a waste of time. Most products today, contain everything that you need in one step. Which is simply more effective. It's more about personal preference.

It seems to me that Clinque is lowering the quality of their products while jacking up the prices. It's just not worth the money anymore. What a shame, they used to have a fine product

I Wouldnt buy clinque anymore due to there rising costs in there facial cleansing line, RIP OOOOOFFFFFF~~~!!!!!! I purchased there super sensitive bar soap, DID great, but back then it was six dollars for one bar, now i think it would be about nine dollars or more, Being im married and a mom of two boys,.i cant afford these luxurious products anymore, i hated cliniques yellow moisturiser, the one in that clear glass small bottle, i broke out in hives with that one, smells weird, there toners for ultra sensitive skin did okay, but honestly i havent notice any difference with my skin with clinique, They are only out to make there Commision, my sister used to work for macy's she quit, due to the high demand of sales and they have to all make a certain amount in sales in perfume depts, cosmetics, etc.,,,,, otherwise if you dont meet there demand, your out the door!!! this is why those cosmetic ladies are pushy in sales, they got to meet there critera in sales!!!!

Out of all the facial washes for sensitive skin this is the very worst! I have acne prone skin and made the mistake of going to the clinique counter for help. They gave me the 3 step and some makeup and i spent about 160 all together. Well after a week of using it i was starting to breakout in wierd places on my face i never broke out in like around my cheeks and my face was looking horrible. So I went back determined for a refund and the clinique lady told me my skin was purging out impurities and that it would only last a month or so. So Ive waited and its been 3 months. My skin is still looking horrible. Theres acne all over my cheeks still. I am so angry. I was an idiot to believe the sales ccounter people. I am almost sure that a lot of the great ratings of this product on this site are either from the clinique sales ladies or people with tough skin not ever prone to break outs. Someone help me fix my face!!!

One word: TERRIBLE! The Facial Soap Mild is NOT in any way shape or form meant for dry or sensitive skin. What the heck is in this stuff? They don't even list the ingredients on the packaging! I do use other Clinique products, but this literally made my skin 100 X's worse...and that's putting it mildly (just like Clinique claims this soap is, and it is ANYTHING but that!) After using this for only 2 or 3 days my skin itches like CRAZY, and got as red as a tomato all over. Also, when I did try to clean my face with others cleansers after using this soap bar, my skin burned like I had just dumped some type of acid all over it! Just horrible, horrible, horrible...my skin has never looked so bad or felt so uncomfortable in 22 years. Thank God for other products that cleared up my poor damaged skin after using this stuff. Bottom line: STAY AWAY if you have dry/sensitive skin!!!!! Seriously, NO JOKE.

This is a 2 or a 2 1/2. My skin was soft, but very tight.

I used Mary Kay for years, constantly battling extremely dry and sensitive skin. Then I became a Clinique Consultant, withing two weeks of using the 2-step system my skin felt like it should have years ago! I'll never switch from Clinique. If the system is leaving your face too dry, you either aren't using the 3-step system, aren't using the product properly or you have the wrong product for your skin. As for asians and other races using Clinique, I have customers of all races who love it! As far as the price goes, it's cheaper than Mary Kay, but more expensive than drug store brands. You get what you pay for, plus if it works, it's worth it!!! Trust me, I am almost 40, but look 25... or so my customers tell me....sometimes they think my daughter is my older sister. Needless to say they trust me with those concerns of theirs.

One of the worst skin care lines around. Clinique is geared toward oily skin and thats it. I switched to the entire line and it almosr ruined my skin. According to several clinique specialists at a few stores their cream repairwear is now too drying for most skins due to the way they added their SPF, so the cliniqueschool informed them. Now that should tell you something when a skin care line as old as this one cannot properly add an SPF!

For years I used Clinique's 3 step and got compliments all the time on my clear and smooth skin. Well, I stopped using Clinique when I needed to cut corners in my budget. HUGE MISTAKE! My skin went crazy and broke out very badly. I started using Clinique again and after only a few weeks my skin is clearing up, is very soft, and I have my glow back. Its definitely worth the money and the bar will last me 6-8 months. The only this is, for some reason I can't use anything else from the Clinique line. It breaks me out like crazy, so I have to stick with the 3 step (Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion, and Dramatically Different Moisturizer) which works great for me. Go figure!

Clinque Facial Soap does make you produce more oil but if wash your face 5 timeas a day you will not make it worse because it will help your skin get rid of the exess oil it has traped inside and it will come out with the bacteria, but as soon as your skin gets oily you have to wash it agin.(make sure you wash ALL of the soap away!) It will be like a skin detox.

I love Clinique I have tried everything all of the lines and clinique works the best for me and has a great pricepoint considering the soap lasts up to 6 months for me. I used to have horrible acne but now it is all but gone and I have very sensitive skin. the key is using the right products being informed about the products and sticking to it. I am wondering witch soaps these people were using that said it was to harsh The mild and extra mild soap are both full of emolients. and should not strip your skin. Always use a makeup remover first as with any product I use the rinse off foaming clenser It is fabulous. And clarifying lotion 3( you dont have to use much of this it is a chemical exfoliater)Mild soap and moisture surge extra a oil free moisteriser. No Dramaticly diffrent as it has oil. also always use the products altleast a month. Contrary to some peoples opinion, I think this soap is WONDERFUL for the people that it works for. There are only a few people that I know it doesn't work right for, but isn't that true for just about every product? The mild facial cleansing soap is the only product on the market that has time and time again worked perfectly for me.. I once hear this stat from clinique, who knows if it's true-- one DDML (dramatically different moist. lotion) is sold somewhere around the world every 5 seconds. amazing? talk to somebody at their counter.

i had read different comments regarding this soap. i find it ok even i have oily and sensitive skin. i cannot say whether this product is either very good or very bad objectively speaking. commmentators gave their ratings basing on their opinions which is subjective. However,as with every cleansers, this soap will/should have its standard rating. What I am trying to point out is every product will not have same effect on every people even under similar skin condition.

Facial Soap Mild: This soap is okay provided you do not have sensitive skin which is ironic since Clinique advertises as hypoallergenic skincare. I have tried to use it several times and end up with dry/irritated skin. I have also written the company to get a list of the "secret" ingredients in the soap since they are not printed on the packaging. I was told by the company that they are not required to provide those ingredients since the item is not a food or drug. However, they accidently printed those ingredients some time later on one of the kits they often sell. Folks you are paying $10 dollars a bar for Phisoderm bar soap. The only difference is Phisoderm's contains lanolin and Clinique's does not. P.S. skin might have to get worse before it gets better. However, it should not have to hurt or be painful in the process!

Expensive? C'mon, a bar costs $10 and lasts close to a year. That isn't pricey at all Skin care is one thing that money shouldn't be an issue. I worked for Clinique and love most of their products. The soaps also come in 3 tiny bars with a dish for travel for $14. These last just as long as the big bars. The reason many people complain about Clinique is that they DON'T use the 3 Step system consistently. Skin gets worse before it gets better. You need to stick with it for at least 2 months to see how your skin reacts. Also, many use the Dramitically Different Moisturizing Lotion all over their face which can cause breakouts. DDML is meant onlt to be used on dry areas of the skin, as DDML contains mineral oil. Sorry to be preachy but Clinique works if used properly. Ask a Clinique consultant to completly explain things, they are trained very well.

This soap is great. I STRONGLY reccomend those to be skin typed by a clinique consultant before just going to buy it. That could be why there are some bad results with it. But also remember that the soap is Step 1 in the three step regiment and it should be used with all three steps. That's why they call it Three step. They don't call it "how many steps you want" step. With that being said: Clinique soap is great when used like it is supposed to. Also make sure you go to a consultant with some experience before you ask about skin care...sometimes the new girls/guys just aren't that educated about the products yet.

As a black woman it's hard to find certain products for your skin. Certain companies only test certain groups and don't realize that other ethnicities have certain skin problems. I love this soap and think it's the best out there, however, it is expensive. You pay for the quality.

Give me a break! Expensive. Let's use some common sense. The product works great. It is formulated for the face, not the body. It is not like a soap that one would purchase in the drug store. It is not harsh.I have used it for years, I am 36. If a person wants to pay ...say$3.00 for a drug store face bar, it would 1. Dissolve quickly,2.Possibly have fragrance,3. Not have a guarantee...etc. If you really want to be economical, here is what to do...Buy the refill bar at a cost of$10.00, take a large knife, hold it horizontally, and chop off a piece. Go to the "Drug Store", buy a .99 plastic covered soap dish, put the peice of soap in the dish, and Ta Da. You have a travel soap as well, and a cheap plastic soap dish forever!

i know a lot of people use this, but i have found it is way too drying (like any bar soap). definately don't try this if you have dry or sensitive skin.

I don't recommend this line of product to anyone. It tends to be way too drying, to most people. If you are suffering with acne or oily skin this product may aggravate your condition. Too much washing and harsher products will make your sebaceous glands work overtime making your skin worse. The best bet is to use a mild oil free cleanser.

I am using the men's 3.step system, which contitsts of cleansing, exfolating, and moisturizing. It works great, and leaves my skin soft and smooth!! I also have mild acne, and doesn't seem to clear that up though. =[ But since I've been using this, you can see a visible difference in the appearance in my skin! =]

It cleans very well. It's great for cleaning off make up. Skin feels smooth and very clean. Leaves face glowing.

This stuff sucks. It doesn't work at all. You use it and you break out even more.

I have always used Clinique products. When I tried the facial soap I liked it a lot. It smells good and works great. It makes your skin really soft and not oily.

Awful product that dries ones skin into a prune. They supposedly have a bar for every skin type-but they are all for making prunes. Don't try these at home.

They have four different soaps for different skin types. I use #3 for when my skin is not acting up and it feels clean and not oily. I use the anti-bacterial soap for when my skin acts up or when it is really oily, and it clears up well.

I work for Clinique and tried this. It made me break out. It sucks.

I borrowed a friend's bar of this stuff while on vacation, and during the week I used it, my skin was the softest it has ever been. Through the simple act of lathering it on my face, even my hands got soft. It works miracles, I'm tellin' ya! I don't use it however, because it is a little out of my budget.

Soap is the key word! This product is far too alkaline (harsh) for the skin's surfacce. Sure it will strip the face of ALL oils and dirt, but it will also strip the good protective acid mantle of the skin. That offers a chance for bacteria to invade. Oily skin will "feel" very clean, but too clean is bad and irritating to already sensitive skin (your skin is smart and will overproduce more oils).

I do not like this product at all. It is a waste of time and money. It doesn't work on Asian skin. It didn't work on my skin.

I really like their exfoliating scrubs for the face. It leaves my face feeling really smooth but later my face gets a little bit oily.

I did all the 5 steps and still there was no improvement. I thought that it was a waste of time and money. I think that it only works for a certain race and not for asians.

This soap is horrible! It completely dries up your face and makes it feel sticky and stiff on your skin. It's too strong for sensitive skin and it come in a bar so it's not very convenient to use and messier than other facial cleansers. It's definitely not worth the money.

This soap is too expensive. I don't feel totally cleansed after using this. I would rather buy another product that works better.

I like Clinique Facial Soap because it's affordable and feels good on my face. It lasts a long time. I like the three step skincare that they market.

I think Clinique only works for white people's skin. It is a waste of time and money. You pay too much for nothing. I highly recommend you do NOT buy this product.

While it made my face feel squeeky clean, I couldn't help but notice how dry my skin looked after a few hours had passed. Later on, I had a shiny face which meant I was over-compensating for the over production of oil.

Smells good. Cleared up my face. Lasts a long time. Works well with the whole line of products.

So, I went to a Clinique counter and the girl behind the counter set me up with the skincare system. I now have softer, clearer skin.
