Wed Mar 26 2008My whole family ate here a few years back and the food was good. But within the last 2-3 yrs the quality declined, food was way too greasy and fattening. We will never come here again. There is better quality out there, search for other places here on citysearch.

Wed Mar 21 2007I have been here a couple of times with my family. The service is really good, seated within 30mins on a busy weekend. Garden salads are very good size and tasty. Filet mignon is good size and comes with good side dishes. Food was cooked to order. Salmon as cooked well. A little bit pricey but worth it. Ambience is nice and good place for family and kids. Also, they have a salad bar, which I have not tried.

Thu Oct 26 2006The potato was good. Nothing else was. Oh, yeah, the parking lot was convenient. This place is way over rated. Also too noisy.

Sat Dec 31 2005Since I hate paying high prices then leaving hungry, we checked out the Claim Jumper. Well, I didn't leave hungry, nor satisfied. Our servers were pleasant but slow and not always available. The food took too long. It a situations where you have multiple servers throughout the experience. One takes your order, another brings your drinks and someone you haven't seen yet shows up with your food. Some call this teamwork, but it's my experience that when this happens the service quality erodes. The food - not good. Huge portions of rather tasteless , ordinary stuff. The fried zuccini was extra thick and lacked crispness and delicateness. Kind of like fried eggplant. For what you are getting -basic Americana cuisine like they serve in a diner (and an ambiance to match), only bigger - the value is not there. We will not return.

Fri Aug 22 2003Went there one time. I begged my husband to take me and I was so disappointed with the mediocre food and service for the price. Server was not in the least bit interested in us and I tipped accordingly. Do not waste your time.

Wed Feb 05 2003Claim Jumper is even worse than Outback when it comes to quality of food. The company seems to try to compensate for their tasteless fare by giving you huge portions. As if more of the dull, bland, food will make up for the poor quality. A lot of food does not make it good. A LOT OF FOOD DOES NOT MAKE IT GOOD! Repeat to yourself, rinse, repeat. Prices are reasonable, but still overpriced for their food. You can get comparable meat at Taco Bell...oh wait...is that meat? The wait is typically long on weekends and it's too loud. Not a place for a first date. Not a place to take any date if you wish to impress her/him.

Mon Feb 03 2003Good steaks, salad bar is packed with anything and everything. But, it's usually crowded and very noisy. The atmosphere is early kitch but varied. Save room for the desserts, 6 layerchocolate cake is among the selections, enough to split with companion. Lastly the service is always great. Have a great time.

Sun Jan 12 2003Claim Jumper is a quick burger joint or diner, nothing more, nothing less. L.A. better get a grip, Claim Jumper? and Outback? as top 5 steak houses. You people are pathetic.

Sun Jan 12 2003Claim jumper may be a good restaurant, but it is NOT a steak house!

Sun Jan 12 2003I love the generous portions, but not hardly a to 10 steak in a mojor city. Afterall, there is only 1 decent steak on the menu.

Sun Jan 12 2003Food is great. Service can be lagging, especially at peak times. If your food is not to your liking, tell the server. The manager will either 'comp' the item or offer a free desert. Service can be bad at any place when it is very busy, so try to go at times when they are not so busy.

Sun Jan 12 2003I can't believe this made the top ten ahead of Morton's of Chicago... Claim Jumper is someplace you might go to get a sirloin steak sandwich but definitely not in the same league as Morton's or Ruth's Chris. They have good prices and huge portions, but the ones I have gone to are noisy and the service is less than spectacular. I ordered the open faced sirloin sandwich and they forgot to bring me a steakknife... it took us 15 minutes to track our waiter down to get one! Please... if I want a great steak, I'll pay the prices that Morton's and Ruth's Chris charge to get one that is done perfectly, with a wonderful atmosphere and great service!

Thu Jan 02 2003For the past several years, I have yet to even get into the door of a Claim Jumper, doesn't matter which one I've tried. They don't take reservations and the wait isn't worth the food which I can't rate as I haven't eaten there in 3 years.

Thu Jan 02 2003Don't order the beef ribs if you aren't hungry!!! Remember Fred Flintstone when he pulled up to the drive thru and ordered the ribs and his car flipped over?? Well Claim Jumper serves them ribs and they are delicous!!! And the steaks are fantastic too!! Now if only they served chateau briand.

Thu Jan 02 2003My aunt and I went to this restaurant and what caught my fancy was the old-west theme ambience, courteous waiters, and the oh-so-generous servings of delicious, flavorful food (I could hardly finish my baby back ribs...they're so humongous). Their steaks are one of the best there is in California I should say. This is a great place to hang out with friends and families, and a nice place for a casual date. There's one thing that I didn't like, long waiting lines. Well, it only reflects the restaurant's vast popularity. Keep it up guys!

Wed Dec 18 2002Far and away the best bang for the buck. Great portions, fantastic friendly help, and wonderful food. Walk up wait can be long at busy times.

Wed Oct 23 2002How this made the top 10 for "steaks" I'll never know. Frankly, I like the Claim Jumper, but NOT 'cause they give you a ton of food. Some of their "home style" dishes are quite good, but the lonnnng wait for a table takes the fun out of going. Usually the service is good and sometimes VERY good. But to put them in the Steak category is really a stretch.

Wed Aug 28 2002Claim Jumper is a place to go for any special occasion or not. You need to go hungry because the portions are huge.

Fri Aug 09 2002From the first time to the most recent, Claim Jumper has always satisfied. Very tasty, very large portions are the order of the day. Practically everybody takes food home. Even though some individual meals might seem pricy, in most cases there are hidden values where actually select meals can be split between two people and money saved due to the larger than large portions. You and your significent other in the mood for a good BBQ? Order the "Ore Cart" and share it, more than enough of ribs, chicken, and sausage for two people. I highy recommend this establishment to anybody looking for a tasty meal out.

Tue Jul 23 2002I always clean my plate but at Claim Jumper even the biggest eater will have to ask for a doggie bag! The food is delcious and try really hard to save room for the delcious desserts!
