Sun Jun 24 2007This is the best for odor control I have found. I returned to Petsmart to find they no longer carry it. I am greatly disappointed but will keep looking. Great Product!

Wed May 02 2007Although citra-max worked really well for masking odor, I had to stop using it because of the black moths that came along in the bags. This happened with 2 different bags, and I could see webbing on the inside of the bags. Trying to contact the company to let them know about this problem is impossible because there is no phone # or website. Poor policy on their part. They lost this customer. Anyone else notice the moths around their apt.? David

Wed Jan 03 2007I have never found a better cat liter!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With multiple cats in the house a box of this cat litter will last us for almost 1 month. AAAAmazing!!!! But last night I almost started crying at Pet Smart-they are no longer carrying citramax pet litter and are no longer carrying the citramax pet bedding (which worked the same). Now I have to find swomewhere else to buy it!!!

Sat Oct 28 2006I switched to Citramax litter to try it as I was not happy with other cat litter brands with their claims on odor control. I have been using Citramax litter for 2 months now. The first bag I purchased I dumped the whole bag in the litter box and it did not last 2 weeks. So, I tried a second bag and used the litter contents more sparingly in the litter box 1" layer. And still the bag did not last 3 weeks. I thought a month was 4 weeks???? I have two cats. The bag claims good for a month. I don't agree with this claim, false advertising. Yes, it does keep the odors under control for about 4 days and then it gets a barn yard odor after that. Then as it gets to the 5th or 6th day you then get the urine smell. I maybe switching back to regular litter as the price is right, $8.99 is a bit much for the claims of one month.

Mon Aug 21 2006I cannot believe this litter! I am a lazy cat owner, but really love my cats. I have 2 cats who never go outside, so the litter box gets heavy use. Like I said, I am lazy, so when the package said you don't have to scoop, I bought it. Sure it smells like bad potpourri, but it works like a champ! I switch it out once a week, and never scoop! It really keeps the odor in check, and it doesn't get tracked all over the house. Added bonus: It doesn't scratch the hardwood floors!!! A heartfelt thumbs up from me! I used to buy it at Target, but they stopped carrying it :(

Wed Jul 12 2006BEWARE when using this product. I purchased a CitraMax Pop and Toss and did not use it right away, and later found it infested with tiny beetles, that have infested my entire house. It turns out products like these are often infested with "pantry pest" type bugs, and any "natural" cat litter may have this problem. These little beetles are very difficult to eradicate, and can get into your pasta, grains, bread, flour, and spices. So, just becareful.

Thu Jul 06 2006I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I hate to scoop so when I saw this stuff I was so happy! I have 3 cats and have been using Citramax for almost a year. All my cats took right to it with no problems. I only have to change the box about every two weeks and rarely have an odor problem. If it does start to stink it smells like a musky woodsy odor not awful cat urine & poop. I just spray some air freshner on the litter and it takes the smell away. I tell all my cat owner friends to use this - its fantastic!

Thu Mar 09 2006This litter really controls the urine smell. I mixed it with my regular litter at first to get my cats used to it, but now I use the CitraMax without any other litter mixed in. The cats like it and the house stays fresher smelling. I remove the poop -- excuse me for the lack of a better word -- every other day, and toss in a little fresh CitraMax to freshen. I can keep one litter box smelling great for two cats for two weeks this way.

Mon Feb 20 2006Wow!!! I love Citramax Litter. This is the best litter I have ever tried. I only change the litterbox on trash day once a week. I do nothing else all week. I don't scoop and there is no smell.

Tue Nov 15 2005I've yet to find a cat litter that works well for my two cats, so when I saw this litter I figured I'd give it a try. I agree with the previous posters that the original smell was pretty bad but I still put it in the box. It took a day for my cats to get used to it, but they started using it. Within 48 hours, through the whole apartment, the smell of ammonia was overwhelming. My cats refused to go into their box and I was getting sick from the smell. I had a friend over who couldn't believe how bad the smell was. When I opened the top of the box to clean some of it out to see if it helped, my eyes were burning from the urine sitting on the bottom of the box. Disgusting and unsanitary! Also, about how cats won't track it outside the box? Wrong! It's all over my kitchen floor. I'm throwing the rest out and sending the bag in to get my money back.

Thu Nov 10 2005I agree with Mantellas. The smell was terrible, almost like burnt ashes, even before I put it in the litter box. The litter itself did not mask the odor of the cat waste at all (I have 2 cats). The cats still managed to track the litter outside of the box, despite claims to the contrary. The litter was not granular looking, as pictured on the packaging. I had to dump even the unused litter, because no one in the house could stand the odor. Thank goodness, the manufacturer offered a money-back guarantee, which I will take them up on immediately

Fri Oct 21 2005this is a great litter!! I have 2 cats, and no matter what I have been using in the past couple of years, the litter always stinks, when I decided to try this, I should say when I first opened the bag, I really didnt care for the smell, but let me say, I couldnt believe the difference in the odor, actually lack of odor, you cant smell kitty urine or poo, at all, everyone that lives here has commented on the lack of odor, and this is with 2 cats using it, and with all the other litters, I had to change the box every day, this stuff, its every 3, and it is not due to any odor, its just they use it alot. great product!!!

Wed Oct 19 2005Worst litter ever!!! I think the cat litter that I normally buy has been discontinued. I can't seem to find it anymore. After reading the packaging for CitraMax I decided to try it. It's made of citrus rinds. It's suppose to last approximately 1 month and obsorb smell well. Before I even poured it out of the bad the smell was disgusting. I like the smell of lemons & oranges and citrus fruits, but this has a strong wood odor...kinda like cedar mixed w/citrus. My cat sniffed her new litter & looked at me...kinda like 'what's this' and walked off. She started going in front of the box instead of in it after the 2nd day of having it (which she's never done). In the places that she went outside of the box I also noticed a little blood in the urine, which I'm not sure is litter related, but I question it. I've only had it for 3 days & had to go buy new litter today. Even when it's brand new it stinks, and my cat hates it.

Thu Sep 29 2005It's made out of orange rinds and smells like an orange-based potpourri. I only have one cat that will use it out of four (that I've seen), but he LOVES it and chooses to use it over the Feline Pine I've been using. I've had the same box there for maybe four or five days, all I do is scoop the feces (you're not supposed to have to, but that'd be gross) and there's been no urine odor so far. I don't know if I'll abandon the Feline Pine, but I'll probably keep two litter boxes of each as I love how low maintenance it is.
