this album dropped in nov of '99 and killed the rap game for years! dre presented a complete album that you can just pop in and just press play. every song is on point from the production to the guest apperences to the concepts to the skits. west coast was once more at the fore front of mainsteam media hands down. also the eddie griffen skit is crazy!

The only CD i've ever bought that i could listen to the entire way through...every song is produced nicely, and the lyrics are funny and gritty all at the same time. great album

Some very good moments on this album including What's the difference and the Dre, Eminem duet, Forgot about Dre...The good doctor proved on this track that he could still flow with the best of em, when called to task. Which, unfortunately was not very often. Overall this album suffers from overproduction, too much digital harshness in the mid-bass range. It's hard for me to give an album a 5 if it doesn't give me full sound-spectral satisfaction. Dre's done better.

This album is pure dope. Still D.R.E. is the best beat and tune ever. Bitch Niggaz is the most dope track to sit back and smoke 2. Bring on Detox.

This is truly one of the greatest hip-hop albums to come out in a long time. Collaborations with Eminem, Chronic 2001 is a must have for anyone who listens to hip-hop.

If Dre can make an incredible CD like this all by himself with no help from Suge Knight, I think that he is the best and this album shows that. Death Row is nothing since Dre has left it. This album shows the world that you can be successful without being a gangster.

Dr. Dre has done it again, continuing his tadition of hip-hop excellence. Dre's new album brings back the beat! The best beat mixed with new flows makes for a classic.

There has never been a hip-hop CD that has blown up like this one. Since it's release, there have been tons of tracks that have gotten airplay. If you don't have this CD, go pick it up.

One of the most prolific albums I have ever heard in my life. Filled with dope ass beats and hard to hit lyrics. This will definitely go down as one of the hardest to hit albums in the world today.

Dre is the nigga for real. I under estimated the bamma. He dropped some of the most vicious beats that Ive ever heard from the west coast.

I don't know how people hate on this cd. The beats and the vocals are banging. and he's got established artist as well as the up an cumin' six two. this cat may have taken a while but no doubt it was worth the wait

Nice production, but weak lyrical content. This is a nostalgia album. Dre can't go to new frontiers, so he goes back to one that he found eight years ago.

Both of Dr. Dre's CDs were really good. However, I think 2001 was much better than the first. It had a lot of good songs. It's way better than Eminem's CD.

Directed at pothead males, I fit the category with ease. This music is slightly mainstream, slightly badass. It talks of sex, drugs and financial security for Dre. Listeners want to be like Dre.

Every song on this CD is an instant rap classic. Great jamming beats. Sooo many great rapper guests on every song. I wish there was a little less ego on this, but, oh well. Love the CD.

Dr. Dre takes "Gangsta Rap" and brings it to a more mainstream view. It adds hip hop and a variety of different artist views.

I think this CD is such a good kick back CD. I love listening to it when I'm sitting with my friends chlling. For a rap CD I think he is cool for putting other rappers on it.

I think this album puts back on the map the west side west coast. It brought some of NWA's crew back together like MC Ren and Dr. Dre. It was also a nice touch to bring Eminem on and add a young-white-angry flavor to some of the tracks.

This is going to be a classic album in a few years, and will be in my collection when I'm old and gray. This album was big in that it was Dre's big comeback, and he had a lot of good MCs on this album, which made this CD a favorite. There was really only one song I didn't like, track #12 which has Kurupt on it. Personally, I don't like Kurupt.

Dr. Dre is becoming more commercial than before, if that's at all possible (not necessarily good). I liked his beats alright- the bass hit hard, the treble grabbed me- but with all that expensive equipment (probably worth over a million just for the mixing boards) he could loop something that made listeners groove more.
