Tue Aug 09 2011my 2 dogs love these treats. But....Griffin has been throwing up almost every day, always yellow throw up, and i'm almost certain it's because of these treats. My other dog "monster" almost choked 5 minutes ago, that's why i'm on this site. I strongly suggest to stay away.

Wed Jun 30 2010This post is in response to the death of my dog Chelsea. My dog was a healthy border collie mix. She had shown no signs of any illness until one night I come home to find her lethargic at the bottom of the stairs. She could not move or stand up. Thankfully we have a 24 hour vet nearby. She was taken immediately and given a check up and had blood work done. The blood work came back with high spikes in her liver enzymes which the vet said was due to something that she ingested. The only thing that that had been introduced to her diet recently was Waggin Train chicken jerky treats. I had been feeding them to my dog for a few months (she loved them). I immediately stopped feeding her the treats. After being off the treats for a week she had another round of blood work and her liver enzymes started to return to normal. We had 1 more round of blood scheduled in 2 weeks to make sure that her liver has returned to normal. But unfortunately Chelsea did not live that long. I woke up on the morni... Read more

Fri Jan 02 2009BE ADVISED!!! to all that think these treats are a good idea read the FDA report that says otherwise... http://www.fda.gov/cvm/CVM_Updates/ComplaintsChicJe rky.htm I have a basenji and a pitbull with whom were both eating these treats and they are both very sick now. They are both lethargic and see to look anemic (their gums, tongues, ears and pads on paws are white not the nice pick color they should be).

Mon Nov 17 2008My dog loves these treats. They are not ideal in small pieces. I tried to use them for training once and my dog kept coughing. They are pretty hard, but I think they are fine if the dog can chew it up in small pieces. It is probably not a great snack for a small dog.

Mon Nov 17 2008The concept of them is good, and the dogs do love them, but the fact that they are sharp and could harm the dogs, I'm not buying them anymore. I rarely go to Sam's Club (went last April) when I purchased 2 large bags. Opened one and then the vet gave me her opinion which was NOT good, so I saved the receipt, and even after all this time I was able to return both pkgs. and get a refund. Not going to take a chance on my babies choking!

Sat Oct 11 2008My Shih-Tzu bit off a chunk of one of these Chicken Jerky Tenders and nearly choked to death. If not for my wife being a nurse and knowing CPR, the dog would've died. It was an awful experience to go through watching your dog gasping and crying out for help. These things should be banned.

Fri Feb 22 2008My dog loved these immediately! He's very fussy about his treats, so I was surprised when he kept coming back for more. This will be on my shopping list from now on. I don't know the price, because the Jerky Tenders were given to me. Hope they're not expensive.

Wed Sep 26 2007My mini Dachound is at the Vet's now, being treated for an unknown illness that generated a high fever, no appetite, no water consumption, lethergy, low white blood cells and platlets. WE gave her Waggin Train chicken jerky strips from Costco. I am afrad that the product was contaminated. She is being treated with IV's, antibotics and possibly steroids.

Tue Aug 21 2007These are a great snack for my diabetic dog. Most dog treats have carbs. They smell like grilled chicken. The only down side is the trail of drool my dog leaves as he carries it to his favorite eating spot.

Mon Jun 11 2007We have two dogs that love these things; one dog we believe is actually addicted! He knows he gets one in the morning, and in the evening, and there is no fooling him, his internal clock tells him it's time!

Tue Mar 27 2007I have a Maine Coon kitten and he LOVES these!! I don't give it to him by itself though...I hold it as he knaws at it until it's gone. I hope the chewing will make his teeth stonger. The only thing that I don't like is the string like piece that I need to pull out of it as my kitty will choke on that.

Sun Feb 11 2007My dog loves them but she chokes on them everytime she eats them. I am on this site now because she almost choked to death minutes ago and I went into a panic. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I just through the entire bag away. She is a large English Bulldog, and watching her choke almost to death scared me to death. I will never feed her something so hard, pointy, and sharp. This is a very dangerous treat!!!!

Sat Jan 27 2007My two Whippets love these treats. They snub everything else I try to give them. I feel good about giving these to them since they are healthy and low in fat.

Wed Jul 12 2006I have 7 little ShiItzu's and since finding the chicken jerky tenders, they want nothing else. Finally a treat for my babies that is healthy and low fat. Now if I could just find a place to purchase in higher quantity, allowing me a cut on my cost. Suggestions anyone?

Tue Apr 11 2006Jerky Tenders are the best thing in the entire world. They were the only thing that got my dog out of all the problems with separation. If they ever stop making these I will have to cry in a corner for days........... We love the Jerky................. I would love to have the big bag avaliable in moer places then Sams Club................. Work on that....

Sun Mar 26 2006We have a Maltese named Snuggles and she LOVES these treats. She will go to the pantry and scratch on the door, then sit and wait for one of us to give her a piece of chicken jerky. I think she even dreams about it because there are times she wakes me up in the middle of the night just to get one. She has really slowed down on eating her dog food because of these though and that is a concern. But if Sams Wholesale ever stops carrying these I don't know what we will do. She loves her chicken jerky. At Christmas time, Walmart carrying a small bag of chicken jerky, just big enough for a stocking. She tore into that stocking on Christmas day.

Tue Dec 20 2005I bought the 32 oz. bag at Sam's Club. My little dogs love them and I was impressed with the quality. HOWEVER, I do have a big concern about this product. Once the last piece was given out, I noticed a little deoxidizer bag inside which helps keep the product fresh. It had Chinese writing on it. That's when I realized the product was made in China. I am really scared that the bird flu which started in China with chickens, etc might spread to the USA through products like this. I won't even buy feather pillows and bedspreads originating from China for this reason. I probably won't buy Chicken Jerky Tenders again until I am satisfied that China's inspection and quality assurance guarentees this product is safe.

Wed Sep 21 2005OK, OK, my bichon has his teeth around my left wrist, so I have to be careful what I write, um "my dog really loves these chews as they are real chicken. He refuses to eat anything else for treats unless it comes from the fridge." (more pressure on wrist) These treats are THE best as they honestly smell like chicken..why? Because, it IS real chicken. Breast meat. Hell, I can't afford that for me. OWWWWW.. Ok, my wrist!! It's like catnip for dogs. There should be a disclaimer on the bag. "Pet owners, please keep your fingers out of the way of your animal receiving these treats. Fingers don't grow back."

Thu Mar 24 2005I tell you my dog AND my cat both love these treats.

Tue Feb 15 2005My dog would dance and sing for the treats.

Sun Jan 02 2005My dogs would claw through a stone fence for one of these. I buy them in the wholesale warehouse economy size at Sam's Club which is the best price I've seen. This is also a treat they don't get everyday - but, when they do it's like a special occasion for them.
