How can a team be so non-competitative to no appear in a World Series for 60+ years and will not win a World Series for at least 100 years!  Don't tell me this team is due!  This team is far from winning a World Series!Yes, the Cub fan is loyal, but why do 40,000 show up for a game!  The beer and ball park!  Very few really pay attention to the game.WGN please fire Ron Santo.  He is horrible to listen as the color guy on radio.

LOSERS! No loveable, just losers! How can someone say they are one of the winningest teams in MLB history? Is that some sort of joke? The last time the Cubs even PLAYED in a World Series was 1945, the same year World War II ended. Need I remind all of you pathetic Cubs fans out there some of the historic events that have occurred since 1908, the last time your sorry ass team won the World Series? Here's a run down: - 16 US Presidents have been elected - The Titanic was built, sank and rediscovered - The US fought in two world wars in addition to the Korean War, Vietnam War and 2 Persian Gulf wars - The Ottoman Empire and Soviet Union came and went - The radio, TV, personal computer and space travel came into being I could go on and on but you catch my drift.

It should have been different this year after spending 100 million on payroll. No excuses to give the team just didnt play to their level. At least the fans showed up to watch and they drew over 3 million fans this year. It would have been more but those fair weather fans visiting the sox this year took some away.

Great venue--great fans--great everything but a team. What is wrong here?

If you simply rate a team for what they have won, then you're really not a fan of the team or the sport at all. You're just a fan of winning. I'd like to see how many teams would have their fans stick around for so many years if they didn't win. Wrigley Field IS baseball, and other teams' fans often hate the fact that there is so much support for a team that has had such a long dry spell.

They should finish second and compete for a wild-card spot. If Mark Pryor and Kerry Wood stay healthy, the sky's the limit for them. They've got a good infield with Garciaparra and Aramis Ramirez. Sure they lost quality outfielders like Sosa and Alou, but Corey Patterson, Jeromy Burnitz and Todd Hollandsworth should fill in the void nicely.

Like the Red Sox, they've underachieved. But despite injuries they're still in the wild card race.

Rick Morrissey of the Tribune said that the worldview of a Cub fan regarding his/her team is cute and cuddly. As a lifelong Chicago resident, I've seen it. When they were losing (from birth through my mid-twenties, except for 84, 89, and 98), it was about drinking and nostalgia. Now, its still about...drinking and nostalgia. As long as they are investment bankers and Jettas in Lincoln Park, as long as people still try to imitate Ferris Bueller's Day Off, as long as Wrigley Field and the surrounding bars keep current on their liquor licenses, the Cubs will continue to have a large audience, Dusty Baker or not. I tried last season to get excited for the Cubs, but I couldn't. You know why? Because the fans get all emotional. Not emotional the way normal sports fans get when they invest their loyalties in a particular team. Cubs fans get all Dr. Phil and misty-eyed about storied tradition, replete with vines, Haray Caray, and Waveland Avenue. Well, the future looks somewhat promising for... Read more

Wrigley field is the mecca of baseball. The Cubs are one of the winniest teams in the history of baseball. I dont see how any true baseball fan could rate the Chicago Cubs in a low fashion. They outdraw many of the other more prominent teams year after year yet Cub fans arent given the credit they deserve. Chicago has the most intelligent fans in all of sports. They truly put the south siders that play at Comiskey park to shame.

I hate that the Cubs get all the press and that they aren't loved so much as a baseball team but like Brittney Spears they're all the young people hear about. But, from a long time baseball fan I have to appreciate that they gave me a lot pleasure as a youngster, and it was because it was baseball, and not like going to a concert. Since I was a fan from years gone by, I'm going to list my most memorable Cubs: 1B Ernie Banks, 2B Kenny Hubbs, SS Don Kessinger, 3B Ron Santo, RF Al Spangler, CF Adolfo Phillips, LF Billy Williams, C Dick Bertell, SP Ferguson Jenkins, RP Ted Abernathy, MGR Leo Durocher (but I do like the current guy, but I just can't remember his name).

LOL. I am so proud of everyone for rating the cubs so low. These notorious losers have the worst fans in the world. I don't live that far from chicago and have gone to many cubs games and these freakin fans suck. They spend all their time buying souvenires, getting drunk and acting like complete aholes. Half of those people don't even watch the game. They suck almost every year yet the somehow believe that the next year will be their year. LOSERS They will not win the world series this year or any year. MARK MY WORDS

THE CUBS ROCKK!!!!!!! OKAY LOOK AT THIS 2 years ago they were 65-95 horrible record i know and then just like that Dusty Baker comes and makes some trades gets them 5 outs away from the World series in teh first year of coaching the team. Now this offseason he has picked up Lattroy Hawkins, GREAT SETUP MAN, Derek Lee, UNBELIEVABLE POWER, and Greg Maddux and Todd walker, who did amazingly well with the Redsox, these guys are going to win their divison next year and go all the way to teh World series and win it. AND HOW CAN YOU GET BETTER THAN SAMMY SOSA WHAT A GUY!!!!!!

I have a connection to Chicago and I wanted the Cubs to go to the 2003 World Series but no these stupid losers could not do that. Instead we got The Yankees(again- oh boy) To maintain peace and camraderie with a certain someone I know I should I hate this team. I don't. I just don't care.

Fairly well balanced team with a great manager, great ballpark, great fans. If these guys play up to their capability and everyone stays healthy (yeah, I know, those are two big "ifs"), this team should either win their division or have a good shot at the Wild Card in 2003.

An extremely underrated team, they have a great Stadium and a cool logo. Also, they've had some great players over the years: Greg Maddux, Sammy Sosa, Ryne Sandberg and more. I would love to see them make it to the playoffs...

O.K. maybe some of these negative ratings are left-over from seasons past... like the past 92 of them when the Cubbies were also-rans. But this year they're looking like the REAL deal. Both the starting and relief pitching is excellent, and with two HRs last night, I'm thinking that it's time for Sammy to go into one of his HR-hot streaks. The Cubs are 15 games over .500 as I'm writing this in June. I think they could be playoff bound, and with some of the best prospects in the minors it could be time for a Cubs DYNASTY... o.k. I'm getting ahead of myself, but still....

Chicago Cubs are the worst team in baseball. Any team that is competing with their top homerun hitter for more wins than homers stinks.
