Definitely my dream car. It would have to be a 1967. ( Can you tell how much Supernatural I watch?) It's a great car. Very spacious.

I like Impalas alot. I currently drive a 2001 LS. The only to problem with are the V6 and the FWD. It handles really well, gets good gas mileage, good stereo system, and has a lot of space. These problems with be fixed in 2009 when all Impalas go RWD on the zeta platform. The SS will have a 6.2L V8.

Nice car, but poorly engineered for larger drivers. There is plenty of leg room going back, I don't even need the seat all the way back. But this is irrelevant because there is limited knee room. The console for the stereo and climate controls sticks out too far towards the driver, and is too wide. Chop this thing back a ways and it would be a great car.

Owned 64 Impala SS, 68 Malibu 327 (Best Chevy engine) and now the 04 Basic Impala. Nobody under 35 wants to own this car so I get it used at a fine price. It has suprises: s/s exhaust, 4-wheel discs, separate temp controls, speed-controlled audio volume, fold-down rear seats, kid safety features, auto headlamps...this stuff was only on high-end cars and this is the BASE model (I don't like spoilers - Corvettes don't need em, why should Impala). Disappointed by the feel of the door edges and such, NOT typical FisherBody. But the performance is above average and an actual 28 mpg - great for the way I drive. Handling was vastly improved by adding 6-8 psi above recommended pressure to the GY Eagles without punishing passengers. Fine ride and the savings allow us to actually go somewhere in it. More still: insurance is cheaper and ignition is back in the dashboard.

Chevcy Inpala is a great car beczause of its price (under $20,000 for new and under$12,000 for low mileage used), its huge size, its great fuel economy (over 30 mpg at 75 mph in a rural area), and its powerful zip( I regularily eat BMW's for lunch). I bought a second one, I liked the first so much. No car over $40,000 should be rated as "good" or "excellent," just too exepensive for sane people.

It seems that some of you are unfortionatly very misinformed. The Chevy Impala is one of the best in its class. A Chevy Corsica on steroids...please! I believe you are speaking about the Chevy Beretta. Which by the way, was a GREAT car for the money. Now, to the one who was speaking about the Nissan Maxima...COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES AND ORANGES TO ORANGES! First of all, the only Impala that runs close to $30K is a new Chevy Impala SS. How can you compare that to a 2002 Nissan Maxima. Dont get me wrong, the Maximas are nice cars but you must compare it to something that fits. Your nissan Maxima probably compares best to the Chevy Impala (standard with only the basic features and a small six cylender....if that! Your nissan is most likly a big four.) Smooth ride, nice interior room, handles well, good mpg, and it cost less than 20,000. I love mine, wouldn't trade it for any other sedan on the market.

A waste of money, reminds me of a Chevy Corsica on steriods in 2004. It may not be a bad car, I priced them when I was in the Market to buy a car, and the prices are too high for what you are getting. I looked at the prices on the new models and we are looking at close to 30K, for the same price you can buy a brand new Nissan Maxima, you tell me what would you rather own? You cannot even compare the two, One car is world class with Horsepower, Luxery, handling, everything the Impala is not. I ended up buying a 2002 Maxima, and I will tell you what it is much nicer than a 2004 Impala. Anyone that knows anything about cars will know what I am talking about. GM just slaps their cars together now, they used to make really nice priced good Auto's they are going down hill, to cheap plastic's, all of their cars look alike now and are way over priced. I liked GM back in the day when they had imagination and made the best cars, they fell off.

Great car. Good power. Get the LX model. A little more horsepower. Lots of interior room. Handles well and corners better than most cars its size.

Impala testing went very well. Long term quality should be great based on HALT testing and previous model years. JD Powers listed Impala as a quality leader (tied with Monte Carlo). Would like to see a factory installed Pioneer audio system option.

Excellent choice for a midsize sedan, right up there with the Taurus. It is definetely more exciting than the bland Accord and Camry, just look at the SS! Reaserch it, and you will find, that they average Impala is more reliable than the Camry.

Exciting? Maybe to someone who drinks Ovaltine and wears adult diapers. Sheesh! It's only a Chevy for crying out loud! Built on top of the same platform as a Buick Regal with the same crappy old pushrod engine!

i have to say i disagree with the other guy here. i own one, my first new car, and it rides like a couch on wheels. i like the rear end, the retro circle lights i think look good. obviously not the best car out there, but very roomy, the trunk is probably the biggest in the market, drives great, awesome stock stero system, GREAT on gas 20+ miles to the gallon, and so on and so on

I drove a friends and it wasn't all that great. The rear end it UGLY too!
