Checkers Drive-In

While I expect the food to be mediocre, the service cavalier and the delivered temperature tepid at any fast food joint (not really a restaurant, is it?) my experience at Checkers recently has my blood boiling. After ordering Champs (3) with no pickles I was asked to "pull over so we can cook the meat fresh for you". An interesting concept...fresh, hot meat. After waiting patiently for more than 12 minutes, I was presumptuous enough to approach the window and inquire about the product I had purchased and had yet to receive. I was summarily directed to the front window to talk to the Manager. The Manager dismissed me with a wave of his hand and slammed the window in my face...not, however, before one of the national merit finalists working fries shouted at me "you expect that cooked, doncha!" Ate there once.....NEVER AGAIN!!!

Sebastian, Fl Repeat offender. When did napkins become a special request in a drive-thru? First they crushed the sandwiches sideways into the bag...that was after someone who must be going blind attempted to put the sandwich together. (Note to that guy...lettuce goes ON the bun, not under it.) The food was somewhat consistent, cold chicken, cold beef, cold bacon and luke warm fries. Yippie...Checkers is great!

We used to have a Checker's Drive In here in Columbia, TN I miss now it is a "Fat Moe's" they aren't as good though

Since I moved from FLorida to Texas there is not any checkers here and I miss it so much ! I miss their spicy chicken sandwiches , Champ's with cheese and chilli cheese fries ! I miss it more then ever now that I am pregnant.

Although the fries may be one of man's best creations, and the spicy chicken sandwich is decent, the burgers are mediocre.

Checkers isn't bad. There are a few that are fairly nearby, but I haven't visited one in a couple of years. Its not a place that I would go out of my way for, but I wouldn't mind driving through to pick up a burger and a shake. Better quality than a McDonalds or Burger King, but not by much.

For cheaper burgers (Hardee;s while dirty still have the best expensive ones) Checkers is the best tasting burgers by a mile.  The fries are also to die for.. WHEN THEY ARE HOT!  IF you get one with good service, then lucky you!  But the taste makes up for any pitfalls.

i've never really been displeased with checkers... until last night.  i bought a burger and fries (fries were good, as always) but i don't think they even bothered to turn on the heat lamp when my burger had been sitting on the counter for an hour or so.  i actually had to microwave it when i got home, it was so cold. the meat wasn't good, and the bun was stale. it'll be a while before i go back.

This is the same thing as Rally's, right? Not bad actually, I mean, I could do without all of the faux- 50's, hokey, Ralph Malph, rollerskatin' presentation- but the food actually isn't bad by fast food standards ...

when i can make it out we usually ends up at this fast food.

I really like this place! Checker's is highly underated. I have yet in the 10 years I've eaten at Checker's received a cold meal, or received a wrong order! Way to go guys!

It makes McDonalds look silly.

These burgers are too small!

Great food and fantastic prices ! Both drive-thru lines at our local Checkers are always busy. Their fries beat any other fast food fries. And you can't beat their dollar menu.

It's unfair to rate this place based on one bad experience, I know, but I'm completely put off of this place. The one time (at one Baltimore, MD location) I went with my best friend and my husband, the food was alright enough, but I couldn't help but to distinctly smell and taste bleach in my Coke. I thought I was imagining things, but my friend took a swig and came to the same conclusion. My husband and friends's drinks tasted fine. I know they gotta clean their drink dispensers (do fast food locations typically clean their dispensers with bleach, though? And, in any case, they oughta rinse things pretty thoroughly). I'll give this place another shot someday, since I know that mistakes can be made. But, I don't think I'll pluck up the nerve anytime soon.

Food- good; service, at par. I had enjoyed their menu item today at Rally's and it it fill me up well- they have great chili fries. They are cheap. This Tampa-based company suited me well, but they would do better with their service as I did ask about something twice and they ignored me.

I can't speak for all Rally's but the one in LaPlace, LA is really bad. The buns are always stale and the burgers are cold. This has happened twice now and it won't happen again.

The food is good. The service is terrible. 1 out of 2 times we wait 25 minutes after we place our order & they're not even busy! Also occasionally the order is wrong. The person will read it back, but not put it in the bag correctly.

I have knocked so many fast-food places but I love Checkers!!!! It is inexpensive, the burgers and fries are excellent. The service at the one I go to is very good also, the workers deserve to make more money than they are getting. They have a very limited menu, a way I'm sure to keep prices below most other fast-food places.

I guess there fries remind people of Rally's....they are the same company.

The good: the price is right, and the burgers et al taste pretty good. The bad: the salt content is very high in practically every menu item. That can get old after awhile.

Great fries! Their fries really remind one of Rally's, another fast food chain that is pretty good. Their chicken sandwiches, while of course not beating Chick-Fil-A, are alright. Their service is in between, sometimes slow and sometimes fast.

Checkers makes the best fast-food burgers out there! They are great, with ketchup, mustard and a lot of pepper! Tasty! And their fries are to die for! Checkers is really great!

I like Checkers much better than McDonalds or Burger King. I generally get a chicken sandwich and their seasoned curly fries. I'm not big on fast food burgers.

Good burgers. Better then Mikie d's anyway.

Checkers has better food than all the other Burger Joints, and lower prices The service usually sucks, though.
