Wed Dec 01 2010I am really pissed off at chase bank i just recived a letter stating that my checking account is changing over to a chase total checking and starting Febuary 8th 2011 they are charging ten dollars a month service fees unless you qualify with the following things to not be charged 1. have at least one direct deposit of 500 dollars or more made to your account ( two deposits totaling 500 dollars does not count) 2. keep a minimum ledger balance of 1,500 in the account 3. have paid other chase checking related fees ( the new service charge does not count) now question people what do you do when you don't have a cushy job that gives you 500 plus dollars a month. like say retail, restraunts, fast food ect. well then you are screwed and you get charged ten dollars a month. And i worked this out to 120 dollars a year. Now i don't know about you but 120 dollars could be put to better use ( like buying books for school) so do yourself a favor and don't get screwed by chase take your money elsew... Read more

Fri Jan 15 2010I originally signed up for a card with Washington Mutual and unfortunately, they were taken over by Chase. My original card had a nice fixed interest rate below 8% and came with great perks such as rewards and free monthly access to my credit score. Immediately upon taking over the account, Chase jacked up my interest rate to well over 21% (keep in mind I have outstanding credit and have never made a late payment). They also eliminated every last benefit that came along with my original card including the credit monitoring and rewards program. I would cancel the card but I do not want to risk taking the hit to my credit score so I just keep it at nearly a zero balance and no longer use the card. If anyone is considering opening a new account, I highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Wed Jan 13 2010I opened my credit cards and my checking account with WAMU and I was so so happy with their services and fees. Later I got the news that CHASE is buying WAMU and now owns the accounts of former WAMU customers. I knew from words of mouth (from my friends and classmates) that Chase has a terrible service, most conservative policies, who treats people as ROBOTS not as Human Beings. I wasn't convinced that time. But now I am fully convinced about that: First when they increases the APRs on my credit cards I called them and nobody could not explain me the reason why they are doing that. My account was in a good standing, no delays, paying more than a minimum. They blamed Credit Bureau for that. I called the Credit Bureau, print out my credit history it was in a good standing. Within 4 Years of being a customer I always payed on time (no delays, no problems). Several months ago, I was on a business trip and I forgot to schedule online payment in advance, as I used to do before. I payed ... Read more

Thu Mar 12 2009Their rates are the worst ever. I probably have paid over $500.00 worth of "finance charges". I just paid the balance on my card, which, by the way, was $150.00 more than the previous month due to "finance charges". So anyways, I paid the full balance....and received yet another bill for...you guessed it...."finance charges". When I asked to pay over the phone they wanted to charge me $15.00. I hung up I was so mad. I called back 30 minutes later to cancel my account, the sales representative never asked me why, and if he did I think he would have been very sorry.

Tue Dec 26 2006I am rating Chase Bank right now because I had a terrible experience with Bank of America where Chase was involved as well. BOA was terrible and as a result I am pulling my account from this low scale bank. Chase was gracious and truly helped me out treating me "like a customer" which sounds like an unfound concept at BOA. Being a long time customer at Chase, I have truly enjoyed all of their services and have always been treated right. Unfortunately, there are no Chases in my area which is my only call out. Tue Oct 18 2005I wish I would of found this website earlier. I just had the worst experience of my young 43 year old life dealing with this company. They are ,like cockroaches nabbing every cent they can find. I closed an account with them in July and am still recieving Finance Charge bills from them. What a bunch of leaches!

Thu Jul 15 2004Do yourself a favor and stay away from this money scrounging bank. They steal from their customers. I went to them because of the prestige of owning a Chase card and have regretted it ever since. They keep on jacking up my APR Fixed and will do nothing about it after numerous calls to customer no service. **********WARNING: STAY AWAY!!**********
