Thu Jul 01 2010For some reason I have an affinity for Charlie Brown. Maybe it's because I look great in a yellow zigzag shirt or the fact that I get the football pulled away regularly by Lucy. Unlike Charlie Brown, however, when the football is pulled away on me Lucy would then come over and give me a couple of well placed kicks in the ribs for good measure.

Wed Sep 03 2008I kind of feel sorry for the character of Charlie Brown, because from what I understand, he was patterned after Charles Schulz. As famous and popular as Schulz became, he had very low self-esteem. He was a very talented man.

Wed Sep 03 2008I always have thought of my self as Charlie Brown. And had a dog named Snoopy.

Thu Jul 10 2008Gotta love Charlie Brown. He reminds me of me. Bald, always seems to run in to bad luck, or worries about stuff lol. It always works out in the end tho.

Mon Jun 09 2008Yes, the paranoia is finally in. I'm not surprise that Charlie Brown ended up in Dr Phil's cartoon celebrity rehab.

Sat Jan 19 2008I've got to say this for Charlie: he's noble... withstanding all of the ridicule Lucy Van Pelt has been throwing at him. But, Chuck never has an unkind word for anyone, and he just keeps on going. Having been called everything from "blockhead" to "loser", Charlie Brown is a WINNER to me. As far as I'm concerned, he's already kicked the football. "Good old Charlie Brown", indeed!

Sat Jan 19 2008You wouldn't have Peanuts without him. He is the most insecure character on the planet but is so likeable that even Snoopy likes him from time to time.

Tue Jan 09 2007Charlie Brown is a humble soul, he knows he dosen't know eveything, unlike his friend Lucy, who try in vain to say she knows about stuff, but he usually is the one who has to show by example. I think Charlie Brown is unspoiled, and knows a little bit about the art of thinking.

Mon Jan 01 2007He is one of these anti-heroes who are designed to please by their "charming" awkwardness. He bores me quite as much as all other anti-heroes.

Tue Nov 01 2005This is the only comic strip character I can actually relate to. I was a female version of Charlie Brown in school. I had few friends, didn't get the guys I wanted, and never was good at anything except writing and academics.

Fri May 28 2004Charlie Brown is actually based on Charles Schulz the creator of Peanuts. So if there was no Charlie Brown there would be no Snoopy. I absolutely love Snoopy he is my all time favourite cartoon character. Charlie Brown on the other hand and all the characters in the cartoon are based on Charles Schulz's life growing up as a kid and his childhood friends. What I admire so much about Charlie Brown is that he is the unsung hero in the peanuts cartoon. He's not the beefed up good-looking super hero with super-human powers like most comic book heros. He's realistic, the average looking painfully shy child that never wins anything, in a world where growing up and trying to find your own identity is hard. I can see why most children and even adults can relate to him.

Thu Nov 27 2003A good kid who just can't get a break. I'm sure some people can relate to Charlie Brown. Although he never kicks the ball or gets the red haired girl, he never gave up.

Fri Jun 06 2003How can you not love Charlie Brown? I'd love to have him for a friend and I wouldn't pull the football out from under him either.

Fri Jun 06 2003Charlie Brown's so sweet and clumbsy and stupid and wierd and mental and curious and ... hold on I'm just like him! (apart from the fact I'm a girl!) Ah poor old me and poor old Charlie Brown!

Thu Jun 05 2003Charlie Brown I find myself rooting for Charlie to get that home run, or win at a contest.or invited to a party.the little boy who always seems to have the bad luck and the embarrasing stuff happen to him.How many people can relate to him.?It is hard not to like Charlie Brown, He is a nice kid who just seems to have rotten luck.

Sat Feb 22 2003I love him because he's the only real loser in America that has really made it to the mainstream.
by gopman79
Sat Feb 01 2003He is ok, but you have to be a real moron to fall for the football trick all the time!

Mon Jan 27 2003Just because I can't give everyone a 5 and Charlie is like my 3rd or 4th favorite. He is a great everyman.

Thu Jan 10 2002One of the best comic strip characters ever created. charlie brown seems to always get bad luck all the time. He never catches the baseball, he dosen't usually get invited to parties, and he gets called a "Blockhead". I feel sorry for him.

Fri Oct 05 2001There's a little Charlie Brown in all of us. He never gave up, no matter what cards he was dealt.

Wed Mar 28 2001Charlie Brown - the loveable neurotic who never wins but always comes out ahead somehow. I always get the feeling that if Charlie Brown ever reached adulthood he would probably realize that his need to kick the football was probably less of a problem than Lucy's need to seek help for being such a mean little witch. And, knowing him, he'd probably even visit her in the sanitarium.

Fri Jul 28 2000Had he won something just once...

Thu Mar 30 2000I'm sure that everyone has, at one time or another, felt like Charlie Brown. This kid is so real. The funny thing is that he thinks that nobody likes him, but all the neighborhood kids hang out with him. There's much more to this child than he knows.

Tue Jan 04 2000Charlie Brown is my favorite kind of hero. Soft spoken, thoughtful, loyal to his friends - he is an inspiration to us all.
by wiggum
Tue Jan 04 2000Charlie Brown became a cultural icon because everyone can relate to him. Not everyone gets to be the hero in life, but at some point everyone gets to be the goat. Charlie Brown redeems the "loser" in us all because he doesn't quit - he gets burned again and again (Peppermint Patty pulling the football out from under him, Lucy charging him 5 cents for lousy psychiatric advice, the tree eating his kite, getting nailed by a line drive on his first pitch, being shut down by the little red-headed girl, etc.), but he always convinces himself that things are going to be different the next time he tries. So ultimately he really is the hero. We're in debt to Charles Shulz for introducing us to Charlie Brown, and it's a shame that the Peanuts era is coming to an end.
by jkri642om
Tue Jan 04 2000Role model for losers everywhere. He should have smacked Lucy around for that "pull the football away" stunt.

Tue Jan 04 2000I love poor Charlie Brown. What a guy...so pathetic.
