Wed Jul 01 2009Maybe I'm just spending a little more time on my makeup application, but I started using the Precision skin care products, Chanel foundation, powder, blush, lipstick, eye shadow/liner AND mascara a couple of weeks ago - and have definitely received more compliments on my appearance. And yes, this was expensive:) If you are going to splurge, definitely have a makeup artist assist you. It makes all the difference in the world to get the right products. The artist I used at Nordtroms/Phipps was great. I'll continue using most of these products but think that I could substitute the lipstick and possibly the mascara for a less expensive line with no difference in appearance.

Wed Mar 25 2009There are some comments on here about Chanel possibly being average makeup in a fancy package. A brand name with this much history, respect and class could not afford to put average/cheap product in a fancy package and get away with it. Chanel is smart enough to know consumers are savvy and much more informed. They strive for the highest quality. Not many people know that Chanel has 3 different laboratories with top scientists working on their skincare and makeup products with virtually no budget constraints. I can see why people question things, that is natural. After all, Couture used to be a word for artist quality clothing for example. It was the equivalent of Rembrant working on one of his paintings with the utmost care, quality paints, canvas, and the artistry of a master. It was one of a kind. Now it's been, for a lack of a better word, bastardized by companies like Juicy Couture that mass market t-shirts from who knows where with the word couture on them. That is the essence ... Read more

Sun Jul 20 2008No other brand compares in quality. Coco's whisper is still in every fragrance, blush and lipstick. The colors are true, deep and fresh, and the artists are trained in application. Every season brings a fresh nuance to the art of makeup. Why go to any other counter. I love my Chanel artists like I love my home decorators!

Tue Dec 26 2006It's expensive but I do notice the quality of Chanel's blush, eyeshadow and mascara to be superior to other cosmetics I've used over the years. However Chanel lipstick seems average. I don't like spending the money but it's one way I like to treat myself and as I get older some of the cheaper cosmetics don't seem to wear as well on my skin.

Mon May 15 2006As a Professional Make-up artist I have the oppurtunity to work with many name brand cosmetics. CHANEL is the ONLY brand that I use. I can count on the foundations and other products to do exactly as they claim. Sure it's more expensive but you get what you pay for. If you can afford it CHANEL is defenitly a luxury brand and if you want the best you gotta pay for it!

Mon Jan 24 2005Way too expensive. I feel like i'm just buying a name and paying a fortune for average products in fancy packages.

Sat Nov 13 2004chanel has the best color selections in lipsticks, but they always have too much perfume smell once they come dry on your lips and sometimes it grosses me out when im eating

Tue Apr 20 2004Be careful with high fashion designer names make sure you are not just paying for the brand. However at the same time you can find some of the most key and unique products in these lines. This line targets older woman. Sometimes has nice colored glosses and things of this nature.

Thu Nov 15 2001i have the chanel "vamp" lipstick, which is a really deep, blue based red/burgandy. while it is a nice shade, and a very rich, creamy lipstick, i don't see what all the hype is about. i expected a LOT more judging by the price and other reviews, and it didn't deliver. it bleeds, comes off on anything and everything, and isn't very long lasting. i will admit, i do like the silky consistency and beautiful colour, but similar products can be found lots cheaper. i picked up a chanel-ripoff for $2.00 at walgreens, and ironically enough, it stayed on longer than the $20 name brand.

Tue Jan 09 2001Chanel is wonderful. It won't stick to a glass after drinking from it. It lasts longer than others. It won't feel dry.

Mon Jan 08 2001Chanel's matte lipstick gives no shine, which fits best for me. I personally dislike shine stuff on my lips, so the Chanel one is convenient when you want your lipstick to look smooth, yet no grease.

Sat Dec 16 2000I have tons of this lipstick, it's not too expensive. It is long lasting and they have a lot of colors. I use these lipsticks for play and if I go on dates or something. Thanks to CoCo I always look good.

Wed Dec 13 2000The greatest lipstick that I have ever used. It is rich and goes on well. It looks better and smells lovely. The only bad thing about Chanel is that it is really expensive. It is totally worth it. It is a great gift for someone or for ones self.

Mon Nov 20 2000Chanel lipstick is definitely a great brand, however, the price is overly rated. The colors are great, they apply nicely, but there are other cheaper brands which provide the same.

Wed Nov 10 1999Lasting color in great shades however not very moisture intensive so you might what to put on some moisturizer or lip balm before applying the lipstick.
