Smiling Bob, even though he says nothing, Flo from those insurance commercials (she's a lolcat, I know it), the older Quizno's sponge monkeys (they got a pepper bar!), the list goes on...

This is strange but I hate the Twix candy bar commercial for some reason. There is the noise. I hate hearing people eat and in the office with the snacking. There are the oral retentives that do it all day. There are more I am sure but that is what I remember right now. I like the candy bars. It is funny since I was trying to take surveys on commercials and it can be quite difficult to get people to answer questions about commercials. You would think they might want to improve them or comment. Some of course did luckily. They don't remember them a lot of them either which was the point. The companies are expecting that everyone remembers them as some do.

Hmmm... I guess hearing "Flo" the Progressive Insurance lady's voice at least 2 times a day during commercials on various channels has made me hate her by this point.

That stupid fish commercial, "give me the filet of fish give me that fish" in that stupid song, with the stupid fish on the wall singing it in the garage with those two dudes. HATE IT.

So many commercial irritants; so little server space. The ones that spring to mind though mostly involve the late Billy Mays. He worked so hard at being irritating - perhaps he deserves the most credit. His passing is bitter sweet - I shall never forget what a joy he was to mute. Other top contenders include: The Comcast monotone speaker/singer walking through a kind of cartoon maze city/neighborhood. The Progressive commercial featuring the freakishly pale nervous woman with the tumor/hairbump and gash red lipstick. And another big mouth - the ShamWow guy who I suspect is the love child of Popeye and a carnival huckster.

Certain commercials can be very annoying. I hate the ones that have catch phrases that they run into the ground.Like when they yelled whaatttss Uppppp? carrot top grates on my nerves. But the ones I hate the most are the homemade ones that are made in our town. they usually put their kids in the commercial thinking it's adorable{not} or they are so wooden i turn the channel because It is so awful.Or they think they are trying to be funny {not again}> Anyway just a few that grate my nerves..

Pretty much all of them. But especially-- Any pharmeceutical that cures "restless leg syndrome" (whoever heard of THAT before?!?) or impotence or toenail fungus but causes as a side effect heart palpitations, irritable bowel, blinding headaches, acid reflux, dizziness, ringing ears, disorientation, liver disease, kidney failure, etc. etc. Also- Any commercial that maybe started off cute and/or clever but ends up driving the viewer into hysterical madness-- the hyper-sensitive Cavemen, the cockney Geico lizard, the talking beer frogs (thankfully, I think they've been put out to pasture at this point), etc. etc. Also-- Any commercial that features 2 people or 2 groups of people; one zany and manic, the other stoic and unflappable, replying to the craziest of questions in a David-Spade/Steven-Wright monotone, which I guess implies they're the "sensible" one, and the one who always patiently explains the virtues of whatever product is being hawked.

Any ad exec who produces commercials with should-be-dead celebrities, Billy Mays, or moronic cavemen should be shot on sight. Better yet, they should be boiled in Quaker Oats, their innards bleached with Oxy Clean and then dragged to the nearest cave to be a** raped.Any beer commercial is pretty good, though.

"Head on, apply directly to the forehead... head on, apply directly to the forehead... head on, apply directly to the forehead...." UPDATE: Another honorable mention is J.G. Wentworth which shows people leaning out of their windows yelling, "It's my money, and I need it now!". I mean, seriously. How many people, in reality, are going to announce to the world about their money needs? This is one of the most stupid ads on TV, in my opinion. On the annoying scale, I think it has even has "Head On" beat. And don't forget any ad by BILLY MAYS!

The most annoying commerical I have seen lately that I must hit the mute button when I see it is Oreo. An annoying woman talks to her dog telling it to smile and it barks at the TV while she laughs like a dufas for Oreo.com

It depends on the commercial. The absolute worst one ever was on the radio. IIRC it was in the late '90s or early '00s. I think it had to do with menopause. It started with a female voice giving a very loud scream. Then there was an announcer (also female, if I'm remembering right) saying something like, "Are you on an emotional roller coaster?" I don't remember the whole sales pitch. Then it ended with another very loud scream, like the one at the beginning of the ad. That commercial made ME want to scream too!

This isn't one particular commercial but several. What annoys me about commercials is when the TV station or the cable network increases the volume during commercials. You have to grab the remote quickly and hit mute. Don't they know they are losing business when they do this? This makes me never want to buy that product. It's like a screaming used car salesman.

The Bob/enzyte commercial for starters. They played it so much, that the narrator's voice began to get on my nerves (he's just too perky, I guess). And don't get me started on the cheesiness of it, especially Bob's goofy grin.

I love the 1-800-Pet Meds commercial. The brunette has one of the best sets on television and shows it when she stoops over with the dog. She also acts cool and totally in control (my kind of woman!). The blonde is good looking but one camera angle of her (on one of the versions--there are at least two) is bad. She does look good in the car. Wish I could help her find that vet's office.

A tie: Hi! I'm David Orrick, and any of the seemingly thousands of 'donate your car' ads. These are all on AM radio, by the way. I skip TV commercials with a Tivo.

Most annoying: The TGIFriday's Restaurants commercial talking up their Atkins Diet menu with What I Like About You playing in the background. Favorite commercial: The Dodge truck commercial where the fast food worker dreams of winning a drag race and a slew of women, with Ted Nugent playing in the background.

I hardly watch TV anymore, but when I did I used to hate the commercial where this huge woman was always screaming about people being constipated. You're CONSTIPATED? she would holler at her husband out in public. It's a wonder that dude didn't demand a divorce.
