Cedar point beach is not the Ocean, obviously, but it is unique, fun and of course not for everyone. That is why when you go to the Ice cream shop they don't have 1 flavor of ice cream, everyone has a different taste. I also don't know of a restaurant with only 1 item on the menu that is successful. (doesn't mean there isn't one, because there probably is one, making it unique and good for them, let me know I would like to try it) In a homogenized world Cedar point beach is unique, fun and a great place to spend a vacation! I have been to beaches on 5 continents and have loved many of them and I Love Cedar Point beach for what it is and I am glad that I did not miss going there!

I live in La Jolla, California... grew up on Cedar Point Beach. There is NO comparison. Cedar Point Beach is by far the best beach I've ever seen and spent time on (and I've lived all over the world). It's as big as an ocean, fresh water (so no sticky aftermath), great fish to catch, very little "trash" that washes up. It's a boaters dream... Cleveland, Detroit, and Toledo are all within a days reach... Put-N-Bay and Kelley's Island within 20-30 mins. Nothing bites you when you swim, water is clear up to 20-30 feet (thanks to the Zebra mussels), great dive wrecks close to the islands. Canada's a day drive away (and no, you can not actually see it across the lake - it truly is like living on an ocean). You sit on Cedar Point beach for fireworks and you see at least 10 other firework shows going on around the lake at the same time. There are nature preserves all around the Cedar Point Beach Roadway... which means you drive through beautiful marshes full of cattails, egrets, herons, tur... Read more

This MUST be a JOKE! A Lake Erie 'beach' listed among great salt-water ocean beaches? 'Nuff said.

Its not the ocean , it a lake , and lakes can get prety nasty and dirty sometimes and they smell unlike the huge beautiful ocean that smells good and has nice marine mammals in it like dolphins , whales seals , orcas , i miss it sooo much . But last time I was at this lake beach it smelled REALLY bad , but other times it did not , but still the ocean is 1000 imes beter i would rather swim there!

Most definitely a 5 star beach. It belongs in the top 10,regardless of what others who evidently have never been there may think and say.

Cedar Point beach compliments a beautifully huge amusement park complex on a peninsula and is most indeed an IMMACULATE beach. It is most definitely a 5 star rated beach !!! If you haven't been there then you don't have a clue and it definitely would be totally unfair and unjust to be negatively rating it based on sight unseen assumption !!!
