Sun Oct 05 2008I lived right next to the amusement park and used to go quite frequently. I've seen it evolve since it first launched the Magnum until the Dragster was created. The rides are all very unique and fun! there have been other amusement parks who have even copied some of their concepts. Cedar Point also has hotels, shows, and other ways of having fun; I would recommend taking the whole day to visit and explore the park. Just try to go when there's clear weather, because if it rains they stop the rides and you cannot get a refund if it continues raining. Also if you are going as a family, try to pack some mini walkie talkies just in case. I would recommend riding the Mellenium force, Dragster, Gemeni, Mean Streak, Mantis, Raptor, Snake River Falls. Hope you visit Cedar Point and Enjoy your time!

Thu Jun 12 2008I have been to many parks around the U.S. To name a few; Six Flags, Disney World, Universal Studios, Kentucky Kingdon etc. Cedar Pointe is my favorite by far! The lines are long on the popular rides, especially on the weekends, but it is well worth the the money that you pay and the wait. After visiting Cedar Pointe Several Times, anytime I go to another amusement park to broaden my horizons, they always leave me yearning for more and wanting to go back to Cedar Pointe. It your a thrillster like my family, you'll absolutely love this place. Stay at the Candlewood Suites, The Fairfield Inn or The All American Hotel. Their the cleanest. The Waterpark is totally awesome, but is a seperate fee from the park. Try to Take a day for the park and a day for the waterpark. Attempting to do both in one day is possible but just too much!

Wed Feb 27 2008Just to reiterate ~ (my last review was deleted in the big computer blip of 08!) ~ we go every year for 3 days (and stay at The Breakers). The best time to go? ~ First week it opens, Tues ~ Thurs. Never had to wait in line for anything! Keep in Mind ~ Cedar Point (I am wearing the Sweatshirt right now, how ironic!), is the Field Trip HQ for 8th grade ~ 11th, for most of Michigan and Ohio (try not to go the end of the school year!).

Sat Oct 06 2007Rides were great!, if you get on them. Three rides were shut down after standing in line for 2 hours. Getting in the gate at 11:00, and have to stand and wait in the hot sun, (while people who had hour early tickets get in). If your web site would of mentioned this, we would of bought early tickets! Your web site needs to be more informitive about , 1, time you open,2, How long you need to wait in line before your let in, 3, rides break down on a regular basis. Every one in the park was complaining how bad the rides were breaking down. It has been several years since we had beento Cedar Point, and was really dissapointed on this visit. We spent more time waiting on rides, and then for them to break down was a big waste of time. The Holloween decorations were great, the park is very clean. Hoping that if we do return in the future, things will be better!

Mon May 28 2007We're proud to let you know that the 2006 Golden Ticket Awards have been presented! Here's how Cedar Point weighed in... Cedar Point won the Best Amusement Park In The World award for the 9th year in a row! Cedar Point also won the Best Ride Capacity award - which means our rides move more guests than any other park. In the roller coaster category... Millennium Force - The #2 Steel Roller Coaster Magnum XL-200 - The #3 Steel Roller Coaster Top Thrill Dragster - The #10 Steel Roller Coaster Raptor - The #14 Steel Roller Coaster In the "Friendliest Employees" category, Cedar Point placed #3. In the "Best Outdoor Night Production" category, Cedar Point placed #4. Thank you for helping us rank so highly! We owe it to you, our guests.just a little something i found on CP's web site. I love the point, but then again i live and have lived my whole life with in a 1/2 hour drive. Have a good day at Americas Roler coast!

Mon May 07 2007Cedar Point is the ultimate amusement park. I always look forward to going when we do. My favorite rides are The Iron Dragon, Raptor, Corkscrew, and Gemini. There is so much to do that you'll be tired at the end of the day.

Mon May 07 2007I love Cedar Point they have so many great rides. I am not the biggest coaster fan but there are some that I will ride at Cedar Point but I tend to avoid the bigger coasters. I will ride Iron Dragon which is my favorite ride in the park, and I like to ride Disaster Transport, and Gemini. Snake River Falls is a fun ride too it's a great water ride that will soak you from head to toe. Cedar Point is a place to have a great day.

Wed Sep 13 2006The Scene If you feel the need for speed, 16 breathtaking roller coasters guarantee a good time. Once Memorial Day weekend begins, expect lots of fun and large crowds. In addition to the rides, the park also provides a resort hotel, an RV campground and a port to Lake Erie. Other entertainment is also available in the form of stage shows, a petting zoo and a new ice show called "Snoopy on Ice." The Features Top Thrill Dragster stands 420 feet tall and, using hydraulic technology, can zoom from 0 to 120 mph in just four seconds. The Wicked Twister is the world's first double-twisting impulse roller coaster and races the track at 72 mph. For people who enjoy slightly lower heart rates, there are plenty of other rides including antique carousels, water rides and the family-oriented Camp Snoopy.

Fri Jul 14 2006My brothers and I took a trip to Cedar Point this past May (15-18th) and we all believe that there is not another park in the World that is better and I've been to almost all of the six flags theme parks. If, however, YOU DO NOT enjoy rollor coasters or thrill rides, this park is definitely NOT for you. If you can't get enough of them like me, then Cedar Point is a must. We went in early season and mid-week and got a hotel for 3 nights, 2 full-day passes, and 2 evening passes for $180 TOTAL at the Breakers Express hotel which is a short drive away from the park. Another benefit of staying at the Breakers Express or any other park-owned hotel was the early park entrance (guest get to enter the park and ride select coasters 30 minutes before the general public). The longest we waited in line was 45 minutes and that was for the Top Thrill Dragster while it was raining (they shut it down when it rains or lightnings). A few times we literally walked right onto the coaster. I highly r... Read more

Fri Jul 14 2006Major CON: this year, Freeway Passes have been discontinued. The park claims this will make it more "fair" for all riders, however there is a new VIP pass available ($350/head) that will get you to the front of all lines all day. So how is THIS fair? The park brochure also says lines will be shorter and will move faster; no, the lines are no better than before. That said, Cedar Point is still, without a doubt, the best park in North America for thrill rides. The coasters are worth the trip by themselves -- add in the MaxAir and new Skyhawk thrill rides, and the awesome lake views, and the experience cannot be matched. Upsides: the thrill rides; the views; ease of parking; Soak City and beach attractions; you can tailgate or picnic in sheltered areas near the gates; pass prices are down a little this year. Down sides are: smoking is allowed in the park (and many people violate the rule against smoking in line); the lines are horribly, hellaciously long; the food is lo... Read more

Fri Jul 14 2006If I were you, I would definately go to this park sometime in June because there's no lines for any ride or sometime once school starts in like September because then again, you don't really have to wait to ride anything. Last time I went was the 2nd weekend in June & we didn't have to wait more than 5minutes to ride any thing. I would definately recommend this park to anyone who loves rollercoasters & just having fun as a family.

Fri Jul 14 2006I have been going since age 15. I am now 63. Cost is high getting in but worth it. This year I will be going with my eighteen year old son, my 30 year old daughter and her children ages 15, 10 and 4 years old. There are rides for all ages, wet or dry. Snacks, lunches, and dinner all top quality. Shops such as soap, fudge, and leather - many things made on site. Highest rated rides. If its a hot day with good weather expect long lines on the popular rides.
by cjbohl1
Fri Jul 14 2006The cooling fans had to be turned on by customers in line although it was 89 degrees out. The lockers outside of the rides that you are almost forced to use is a rip-off. Rides that are for thin people only, are you kidding me! A 220lbs man that is 5 feet 11 inches is too large to ride some of the rollercoast at this park. Staff members and customer service is very rude and poor. Although the park does not design the ride it is the park who tells the designers what the want and who the rides are for.

Fri Jul 14 2006My favorite amusment park ever! This place has something for everyone- the aderenaline-addicted can ride roller coasters to their heart's content, while small children can play in Camp Snoopy and others can ride the Ferris Wheel or any number of gentler rides. Just a note- I go in late May/beginning of June, and the lines even for Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force are rarely, if ever, longer than an hour and a half. Often, lines for good but older rides like Mean Streak and Magnum don't exceed 15 minutes, including wait time for the front car.
by skyhawk526
Fri Jul 14 2006Awesome place to visit. All kinds of rides for every person imaginable. There can be very long lines for the rides and to get into the park in the morning. Best way to get the is to fly into Sandusky airport (KSKY) and take the shuttle bus to the park, its great to drive right past all the cars in line to get into the park and to the head of the ticket line. We then stayed till after the laser light show and flew back home. Park is always clean family friendly and has many great shows to watch to when your tired of waiting in lines at the rides or need some lunch.

Fri Jul 14 2006My parents took me there when I was a kid after Boblo Island closed. The Blue Streak was the main coaster at the time. The Corkscrew opened the next year. It seemed that every year CP opens a new coaster of thrill ride. While I was in the Army CP was always on the list of things to do while home on leave. Once my children were old enough one of the first places we thought of for vacation was CP. My oldest is now 13 and wants to go to CP pretty much every weekend or day that I have off. She is a coaster junkie. She called me at work while she was at CP on a field trip with her school just to tell me about the Top Thrill Dragster. She wouldn't stop talking. From the Millenium Force to the Magnum (my favorite) to the Blue Streak (sentimental value) Cedar Point is THE greatest amusement park!

Fri Jul 14 2006I've been going here at least two times every year since I was 6, and I'm now 14. The past three or so years I've been going at least three times a year, once with my immediate family, once with my aunt, uncle, and cousin, and once for Halloweekends. This year my family decided to buy season passes and I would really recommend doing this if you go more than twice a year. They have the best roller coasters on the planet! And during Halloweekends they have some pretty amazing haunted houses that can scare the pants right off of you! But if you're not into those, go during the summer. The only thing that I don't like are the lines, but if you go on a weekday instead of a weekend, the lines aren't very long at all. The shortest amount of time I've waited in line for the Dragster was 15 minutes. And that was on a Monday. They have awesome homemade french fries, the best pizza, their food is great overall! And for the little ones there is Camp Snoopy, everything is just their size. There ar... Read more

Sun Jul 09 2006I changed my rating from 5 to 4 based on this year's visit. Many rides were down at various times. We have visited Cedar Point since the 70's and this year I have to say we have seen a decline. Not enough staff it appears, but plenty of guys in white shirts and ties floating around. We stayed at Hotel Breakers. Elevators in the tower section were not running properly throughout our 4 day stay, and that was not fun then being on the 9th floor. One lifeguard at one of the lazy rivers was rude and nasty to my daughter-in-law, who was trying to help her little son get off his tube. In the process she lost her tube and was nastily reprimanded by the lifeguard. Uncalled for. Food at the park just minimal in quality, maximal in price. Bay Harbor Restaurant is pricey but nice, however. We made reservations for 2 rooms for our family in January, requesting rooms on the same floor and as close as possible. When we arrived on June 30th, one room was 9th floor of the tower section, the... Read more

Thu Jun 01 2006I have been going to cedarpoint atleast once every year since I was 15 and I am 19 now. I haven't been to other parks, well...SixFlags/GeagaLake. Yet CedarPoint is worth it. It has rides for everyone. I never get bored with it and even the old coasters are fun. I love the trolly. Food can be high but overall I never got sick from it, which is good. If you live in Ohio or Michigan it is the best place to go and well worth it. I travel 3 hours atleast to get there.

Fri Feb 10 2006My family and I have been going to Cedar Point every year since I have was 5 and I am now 39. We love Cedar Point. It has rides from age 1 to 99. It is one of the cleanest parks we have been to. It also has its own campground and hotels within walking distance to the park entrance. The water park (Soak City) is awesome. I would recommend Cedar Point to anyone.

Thu Aug 11 2005I found out about cedar point 3 years ago and i went that year...it was the best experience in my life. ive been to orlando and a lot of other places and nothing (i really mean nothing) beats cedar point absolutle the best

Thu Aug 11 2005I've been going to the park for quite a while now, and this past time was like no other. I got woozy from too many rides after a while and couldn't ride for a while. Good thing this place has more than just a huge selection of rides! The rides are amazing, and if you ride a little too hard, there's still things to do until you until you're back up to riding.

Thu Aug 11 2005We just arrived back home to Boston from visiting Cleveland and the highlight of our trip was Cedar Point. The place is so big that even with large crowds there is plenty of room to roam and there is so many varieties of food to eat and very reasonable. My two 15 year olds had to wait in some lines for the coasters but they said it was worth it. You definetely need two days to experience everything the park has to offer...rides and shows. I wish we lived closer so we could go every year.

Thu Aug 11 2005We moved our boat last year to Cedar Point Marina, best decision we could have done for our family. They have more to offer (an entire amusement park) right at your dock's door. 2 season combo passes for the park and Soak City, three parking passes with parking in the marina parking lot, discounts at the restaraunts the nice sitdown ones, discounts at selected shops, fuel dock discounts & free pump out come with seasonal dockage, plus it is less expensive then the marina we moved from with out all of the above. If you are a stock holder they give you more perks not offered to anyone else. You must own 100 shares or more in Cedar Fair (FUN)

Thu Aug 11 2005I was born in Sandusky, Ohio--home of Cedar Point--so I must acknowledge my bias up front. I have visited King's Island, Six Flags Over Texas, Disneyland, and Knott's Berry Farm. Besides the overwhelming quantity of rides at Cedar Point, the relative location of Cedar Point adds a lot to its allure. The other parks I visited were all bulldozed and constructed on vacant land that became landlocked fixtures in bland suburbia. Cedar Point is located on a narrow peninsula that juts out into one of America's Great Lakes. The water-meets-land scenery can really be appreciated at the top of those coaster hills. There is a beach on one side of the peninsula, a marina on the other side of the peninsula, and an RV camp at the tip of the peninsula sandwiching the park itself. Suburban amusement parks just can't compete on this level.

Thu Aug 11 2005You if you don't have a GREAT time at Cedar Point it is impossible for you to have fun!! I am 39, hubby is 34, my parents are 79 & 80 and we all have a BLAST. Best Food, Best rides & best way to spend your vacation. DisneyLand/World DO NOT even compare to the RIDES, FUN and ESPECIALLY THE PRICES!! It even has a beach if you want to pretend it is in Florida.

Sun Jul 31 2005I have gone almost twice a year since i was 3 years old and i just turned 22 last week. There is stuff for the whole family.

Sun Jul 31 2005I have been to every other park in the top 10, and none of them come close to the thrills at Cedar Point. There are rides and attractions here for people of all ages.
by saggydan1
Sun Jul 31 2005the front seat on the raptor is the best roller coaster ride in the world. a close second would be the back seat on the millenium force. Cedar point is so great not only becuase of their coasters, but because of the views at the top of the hills.

Sun Jul 31 2005I'm from Cleveland, so I've gone to CP every summer since I can remember. This really is the best amusement park ever! I tried Busch Gardens and Six Flags aka Geauga Lake, but neither compares to the amazing coasters, rides, and attractions at CP. My friends and I try to ride every coaster, which is hard to do in 1 day! I've read about long lines, but I guess I'm just used to them. CP offers Freeway, early in the day get a stamp with a time, come back then and jump ahead in line. The best days to go are when kids are in school, and days forecast for light rain, if it drizzles you can enjoy the shows and even their indoor roller coaster. Another tip, season passes pay for themselves after 2 visits and you get coupons for food, parking, and tickets for friends.

Fri Jul 15 2005Cedar Point is the absolute best amusement park in the world. The best rides and most fun, clean and family oriented park I have ever been to. Has plenty of rides for everyone. From small not so heart pumping to the adreneline jukies dream. Definetly recommend to anyone in search of a great time.
by feathers20
Tue Jul 12 2005The lines maybe a little long for the popular rides like the newer rollercoaster but you'll have that in every park you go to. They have fast passes which help make the lines less of a wait. The park is very clean and has a great place for younger ones who can't ride the rollercoasters yet. They have other rides besides the rollercoasters for those who don't ride them. They have hotels in the area, if they aren't right next to Cedar Point, there are plenty that are 10 mins away if that. Also if you don't want to spend all the money on paying for food in the park they have a nice picinic area that you can keep a cooler in. I would suggest to everyone to make a trip to Cedar Point at least once and I know they will want to come back again.

Tue Jul 12 2005I have been going to Six Flags Great America in Illinois since I was a kid every year (2 or more times), but since I discovered CP 4 yrs ago, I adore this park!! It's so nostalgic!! I love how great it's kept up! It's the cleaniest, friendliest, most uncrowded park I have ever been to! I don't mind driving 6+ hrs to get there at all! The pizza is great for park food! There's no comparison to any of the many parks I've been to, and I would recommend CP to all! I will be moving to California in 3 mths & I WILL travel across the country for this park, I LUV IT!! The only thing I don't like is that they let people in line get away with smoking, and I don't like that!! They need more vegetarian choices, & we leave the park to eat..unfortunely!

Tue Jul 12 2005I am getting ready for a trip to Ohio, including Cedar Point. It is so amazing and I can't wait to go. All of the roller coasters are so much fun and at times, when climbing the hills and dropping 400 feet, that I question myself and wonder what in the world I am doing. My 10 year old loves it as much as I do. Thank goodness she is a roller coaster freak like her mom, otherwise she might be staying at home with the grandparents. My only complaint is that the staff is not very friendly. I even asked someone last year if it was a bad place to work, because everyone seemed irritated to be there! You can't beat the view from atop a lot of the rides and the breeze off of the lake, make even summer times evenings rather cool.

Tue Jul 12 2005I just went to Cedar Point a week ago, and it was by far the best amusement park I've been to! The best rides there are Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Magnum. I had a great time, the atmosphere was nice, and the park was clean. The only bad things I would say about it are that the lines can be very long (I waited 1 1/2 - 2 hours on both Millenium and Dragster) and getting into the park is horrible - it took longer to get off the turnpike into the park than it took to drive from Akron to the exit off the turnpike. They need to invest in more than 2 lanes! Anyway, if you're looking for a fun and thrilling park to go to, Cedar Point is the way you should go.
by poohhead75
Tue Jul 12 2005I have been to many theme parks in the United States and Cedar Point by far is the best overall. I grew up in Omaha and went to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City several times. But go to Cedar Point and YOU WILL HAVE WORLDS OF FUN - I have also been to Disneyland and Disney World, yeah they have all of there high tech shows and rides, but if you want a thrill ride then you definately need to go to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
by jmdirosa1
Tue Jul 12 2005Cedar Point is great at not only maintaining their excellent rides to keep them above status quo, but they continually create new masterpieces of adrenaline and good, old-fashioned fun attractions and rides! I have always made it top priorty to visit the park at least once a year since I was 5 years old. They definitely keep me coming back for more, and you will love it if you like great rides and lots of variety!
by brady8221
Tue Jul 12 2005I have seen it on TV, being from Gainesville, Florida. I said nothing could beat Bushe Gardens Tampa or the Shows in Olando's theme parks, but I must admit it Cedar Point 1 uped all the parks in my state. One of the best Racing coasters Gemini, you even get to taunt the other train while on the track. Milliem FORCE... Man, That is fast! Please go to Cedar Point. It is worth a 15 hour drive!!!!

Tue Jul 12 2005We have traveled from Minnesota to Cedar Point each of the past four years. We incorporate some MLB games into the roadtrips but the highlight is Cedar Point. From the staff to the quality of the rides it is a first rate experience. In addition, the setting is awesome. At 54 with a load of kids it is my favorite vacation escape!!
by sdudzinski
Tue Jul 12 2005The rides, particularly the coasters are the best I've been to in the US. The park is always clean and very family oriented if you want it to be. Only problem I have is waiting 1, 2, or 3 hours for a ride in some cases. That can take the fun out of your day after awhile.
by andreachri
Tue Jul 12 2005I've been going to Cedar point for almost 20 years now and each year it gets better. There's so much to do, I recommend getting there early to beat the lines. The entertainment is simply the best. Given the choice, I'd rather go to Cedar Point than Disneyland!
