Fine actress, but for someone who was supposed to be a beautiful elf she has a big honker. Very distracting in the closeups.

I think Cate Blanchett did a fine job playing Galadriel because I think she did a good job conveying Galadriel's emotion as a character. She also did a good job playing the part where Galadriel says the Ring could be hers and she becomes this weird lighted Elf. Cate also had a good gaze where she looked like she was actually reading the Fellowship's mind. Cate conveyed the correct emotion for the powerful Elf of Galadriel.

You could do a whole "Goddess/whore" analysis of her career, from this role to her role in The Shipping News, and dual role in the Coffee and Cigarettes vignette. She's got my attention with her versatility!

Even though she didn't have much screen time, I loved Cate in these movies. What a powerful character to play! I think Cate pulled off the mysterious, kind of creepy feeling that went with Galadriel, like you weren't quite sure where to place her. I liked when she pulled Frodo to his feet in ROTK. It was like you could feel the warmth in her hand!

Always better than average and very good here also. I thought she should have gotten the Oscar over Gwyneth Paltrow a couple of years ago but I'm sure she'll get one eventually.
