Sat Jan 03 2009Can this woman get any more serious in her roles?

Wed Oct 29 2008What an actress! I just last week saw Elizabeth (I know, it's been out a while.) and was quite impressed. Ms. Blanchett really becomes her character with persuasion in this well made drama. I can see why she got an Oscar nomination for the role. I would recommend this movie for anyone who appreciates quality acting and history.

Sun Sep 21 2008She is also well known for her portrayals of the elf queen Galadriel in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, a role which brought her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Fri Apr 04 2008She is ok for a dingo-loving Australian. I do recollect that she played Galadriel in the LOTR trilogy.

Fri Dec 21 2007She's good enough to play Hepburn, Dylan, and Queen Elizabeth 1. Why the hell is Cate Blanchett not in the top 20?

Mon Sep 24 2007She's good enough to play Hepburn and Dylan. What else needs to be said?

Wed Feb 14 2007Having seen a few more recent films starring Cate Blanchett, I have to say that I don't think she's as bland as I first thought she was. What she lacks in physical beauty she makes up for it with her classic looks and as an actress who takes her work very seriously, resulting in many memorable performances so far. There's a couple of films where I felt she was miscast but other than that she's proved she can very versatile when given the right part.

Mon Feb 20 2006Wonderful performance in "Elizabeth", in the hands of a lesser actress the movie would've been called "Shakespeare In Love"... Talented actress.

Wed Feb 08 2006Beauty and very versatile. I love her dearly and would marry her yesterday if I could. Drama, horror, humor and just about anything else she accels at them all. I liked her in these movies to name a few; Lord of The Rings, Little Fish, The Missing, The Gift, Bandits and Paradise Road to name a few. Just great and classy.

Wed May 11 2005She is one of my favorite actresses. Highly talented with the uncanny ability to change her appearance to resemble the character she is portraying. I have watched the movie Elizabeth several times and never tire of it. In the movie The Gift where she plays a clairvoyant, she is mesmerizing to watch.

Sun Oct 31 2004She was amazing in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. She was Galadriel, someone with few lines, but she with her acting, the character played a major role in the films. I don't think the role could have been played any better.

Mon Sep 20 2004Superior to Kidman. A shame she lost out on an oscar for Elizabeth, especially to that snivelling heap Paltrow.

Mon Sep 13 2004I love this actress! She is not a classic beauty, but her face draws you in, and her talent overwhelms! Elizabeth is one of my all time favorite movies!

Wed Jul 21 2004Seems to be amanging her career well. Takes chances on different roles. Quite versatile and well rounded. When all is said and done might have put together an excellent legacy. Gets thumbs up from me for taking cnances.

Fri May 14 2004This is one seriously talented actress who doesn't do the annoying thing of appearing in every single last magazine article and front cover making me want to take her even more serious as a REAL actress. She not only seems passionate about what she does, but shes also down-to-earth, by actually taking a bus and walking around like a normal person without a ridiculous entourage of 100 people. I think one or two Hollywood personalities need to take a leaf out of her book.

Tue May 11 2004Graceful and one of the current best actresses, she should won an Oscar for her role in Elizabeth without question. She has amazing versatility and brings this certain elegance and poise to every role. She's like old Hollywood.

Mon May 03 2004I think she may prove to be the Meryl Streep of her generation. One of the current best.

Thu Apr 15 2004Amazing talent, nothing really to add after all the other kudos given, except to say that she is what I think of as a true actress, a craftswomen who knows her stuff, and that it is not about standing up with a ton of product in your hair and your bits hanging out looking uberglam all the time, or playing cute and funning but about making a character real and quirky. I loved her in Elizabeth and the Gift - she has one of those faces you just cannot take your eyes off. Go Aussie chick!

Thu Oct 30 2003I adore Cate Blanchett! I think she is very much UNDER-rated! She was nothing less than amazing in "Elizabeth."

Sun Sep 28 2003Cate is simply amazing. she is incredibly talented and yet modest. she can play practically any role, and do any accent, all without taking her clothes off or doing any stupid sex scenes. she is one of the best actresses around today. she will definitely win an oscar, and soon.
