Carpet in my opinion is potentially infested with insect larve, fleas, parasites, dust mites, and more. Mold can grow and become more of a health hazard. Get a hard floor like tile or stone, but do not get a wood floor. Parasites can grow in the wood. When you get the hard floor there are so many ways to decorate and redecorate with room rugs and throw rugs. It can be easily clean and posses no heath risk.

Carpeting has its positives and negatives. Postives: It can come in all different types and styles. Almost limitless color choices. Usually comfortable. Generally inexpensive to buy and install. Negatives: Staining carpets are easy. Most can come out, but still getting it out is a chore. Need to be cleaned often. Don't last very long when compared to others on this list. I would want carpeting in all of my bedrooms and in a family room. That's it.
