I only saw the first season on DVD,but it was one of the best things I ever watched.Dynamic cinematography, well written, fantastic score, top notch acting and casting. It was mysterious and sexy and I'd like to see the last season but I heard it was dissapointing & it's WAY too expensive to buy on disc.

i thought this was a great idea for a show and had so many possibilities to adventure into. then after the first season it became confusing and had to much going on that it even lost its direction. Next thing you know instead of fixing the problem they disappointed alot of viewers by just canceling it.

I loved this show and waited so long between season one and two only to find out they cancelled it just as things were coming together. An HBO article I read said they thought they wrapped everything up rather well but I have to strongly disagree with that whole-heartedly.  I haven't even bought the seasons on DVD, they did the same thing with ROME.  Claimed both shows were too expensive, whatever.....

I have the first season on DVDs......expensive, but worth it. This is a great show. But you're right...I can't explain this one well to anyone. It isn' for everyone...but I even got my mama to watch.

i really had looked forward to this show but its story is to twisted and unexplaining. too much going on and not enuf to explain it all. its not like a cliffhanger where you can't wait to find out what happened. this you don't know whats going on enuf to wonder what happened

This show is what I've been waiting for all my life. I've always had an affinity for the 30's: the scrappy Americans who improvised a means of communal survival, the music, the craftsmanship...all of it. Lace it with carny culture and a localized war of good vs. evil (which resonates strongly with G.W. Bush-era America) and some mighty crisp dialogue and you've got something rare and vital. Adrienne Barbeau, Nick Stahl, Michael J. Anderson, and Amy Madigan round out a stellar cast that recalls Dorethea Lange and Walker Evans photographs. Perfect in every way and always surprising.

I like this show, very 'good vs evil' in a spiritual sense. Acting is good, some of the episodes are much better than others, sets are nice, you can get drawn into this show very easily if you just sit back and watch. Not on an equal with Deadwood or Oz, but watchable and intriguing.

American Gothic on the road, more of it I say. Just wish they'd hurry up and show it in the UK.

Carnivale is probably the stranget show I've ever seen. Despite this, it's still incredibly intriguing. The acting is supurb and the setting is very well-established. Furthermore, a big plus is that the characters (and the actors playing them) actually look like those that lived in the 1930s and during the Depression (unlike several other films and shows set in the past, i.e. Titanic). The key to understanding this show is watching every single episode. The final episode really brings the whole show to a proper close, and all the pieces of the puzzle seem to come together. While bizarre, it is incredibly addictive and intriguing, and you go through the whole season asking yourself, Where is this show going?. With the final episode, you finally figure it out, as everything comes to a clear conclusion. Overall, Carnivale is an interesting show, even if it is incredibly unusual.

Great show -- but less sex please! I love the show, though, something new & exciting definately!

I credit this show on being the all time weirdest thing that I have ever seen on television. It's like a train wreck, you see it happening, but you have to stick around to see what happens to it. I am amazed at the characters, some so deep, some so shallow. There is a lot to Ben that we haven't seen yet, but I have confidence that we will see this character evolve. I haven't missed an episode, and I am glued to the television when it airs. The only thing that I am not crazy about is the level of the pornography in it. Sometimes less is really more. But other than that, keep the story lines coming, I am anxious for the next episode.
