We would like to give Captain D's @ 1803 Bessemer Super Highway, along with their manager Jessie Thomas and staff a 5+ star rating. On Friday, September 24, 2010 the staff @ Regions Bank in front of Western Hills Mall in Fairfield were treated with lunch. It was great, there was plenty of food for everyone, then there was food left for someone to take home. Thanks so much for your kindness. We appreciate you so much. Thanks again!!!!!!

3 stars I went to the Captain D's at Forestdale, Al. (outside of Birmingham). on June 30th. I ordered the Shrimp special Combo for $4.99. I had seem it on the T.V. commerical and it looked delicious. Well when I got my order I couldn't believe my eyes. There were about eight little shrimp the size of a dime and fried hard as a rock. Instead of the fries that came with the combo I paid extra for a baked potato which was fine. The shrimp were not enough to fill me up and I went and ordered a piece of fish that I paid $1.79. After all was said and done I could have gone to a real restaurant and got a decent meal. I won't be going back again and my friend said she won't be going back either. We've said before we wouldn't go back but the meal on T.V. looked so good we thought we'd try you again. It's false advertisement to look so good on T.V. and then get a 'Looks like a kids meal". Sincerely

I go to Captain D's about once or twice a month. Most of the time when i go there the food is great, the place in clean, the people are nice. But sometimes when I order the 3 piece fish dinner and fish that I recieve are not good at all hard, black in the fish, and taste horrible. I advise that you check your food before leaving the drive thru or before eating the fish inside. P.S. By the way the Captain D's I am writing about is in Fredericksburg Virginia.

I went to Captain D's on Zelda Road in Montgomery, Al. on Friday night, and could no longer substitute my hushpuppies for a roll with my dinner. I go to the same Captain D's, approx once weekly from work, and will no longer go back if the policy does NOT change. They said it came down from above. Please e-mail me back if this is corporate or not.

Captain D's opened a new store in Dothan, Al. a few months ago. I went there about 3 mnts ago got the drive through. Got home to Headland, Al. about 15 miles away only to find I didn't receive the right food. Now! today I try them again inside this time. when the light whent off picked up food to find french fries cold at the conter.the woman said she would bring out more but never did. we probably would not have been able to eat them with our food anyway. So it's 0 stars for the new captain d's in Dothan, Al. I think the store # is 3555

I love captain D's ever time i go there i am always greeted and it only take about 10 min. for them to bring me my food and they always come by the tables asking if every thing is good and if we need a refill or anything. one thing i have notes lately is every time i order to go they open every bag a show me my order to make sure it is correct it just seems a little rude to me. as far as the food it cant be any better always hot and fresh. one time i went to a long john silvers to see wich was better, and i will never go back to a long john silvers again.

The store located in Baton Rouge La. should be closed. The service was really REALLY bad. Employees were rude. Thefood was either over cooked or refried to heat it up. We used to come here often. But never again. They didn't even have any ketchup or honey mustard. The ceiling had a large hole in it leaking water. Tables were dirty. CLOSE this hazzard before you hurt somebody. May 10,2008. 5;30pm ooooooooo rating

These guys are the Long John Silver's wannabee's of the food world. Unfortunately they don't bait the hook. Their prices are in line. The service is OK. But, the food taste like cardboard. Even with the good service and reasonable prices, I just can't want to eat the food.

If they change the grease from time to time, not too bad, but they never seem to around here. I haven't set foot in one in years.

My name is Susan Groder, I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I ate at a Captain D's on Normandy. It was very busy, and I thought it was worth the wait for seafood. I waited patiently for 30 minutes then I ask the cashier is my order ready yet? She told me the food has been given out already because the number is not on the wheel. I ask to see a manager. Instead she was to busy cooking on the wheel to answer. I was greeted by a guy name Brian, he said he was the ABO. I showed him my ticket and told him I did not received my food yet and I waited here at least 45 minutes so far. I order a seafood feast. He asked the manager and she said it already out. I did not receive my food and was pissed for waiting so long. I asked for a refund because it was ridiculess for waiting so long. He refused I got his name and the corporate number. I lost time and alot of money. I want to voice my opinion not to ever eat at a Captain D's ever again. The Manager name was Bryan Neal.

Your store in Franklin TN at Cools Springs was once one of my favorites. However recently the size and the quality of the chicken strips in the chicken dinner are small and dried out.

The local Captain D's in Bremen, Georgia is a disgrace to your company. The quality of food and service is lousy and how long before you do something about it as it effects the reputation of your restaurants and many of us will drive to another location rather than dine at the local one here.

On 07/19/07 at 16:28 pm I had my lunch hour from work. I decided to go to Captain D's located on 2674 Zelda Road in Montgomery, Al. I was greeted with a beautiful smile and a friendly hello welcome to captain d's. I had great service. That is something you don't usually get from young kids working these days in fast foods.Vonderia Fleming is an assect to your company. She made my visit very enjoyable and I will return. When I get bad service from an employee at restraunts, I don't go back and I will let the company know. I work in retail and I know how rude some people can be.You offer good service and it is very nice to find a young person that has the personnality of Ms. Fleming. Thank you, Carol Hamilton

The service at store#205943 in Bossier City Louisiana is the worst. Cashier #0067 was very rude. Not to mention she did not even thank me for my patronage.I spoke to the manager outside in the back of the store smoking. The bad service reflect the bad management. I like the food but the rude service may send me to the competion.

The store in Bainbridge, Ga, is the most unorginized store I have ecer been in. If you are not making any profit,it is, because I suspect, going out the back door. Myself and many others waited a very long time for food and I finally asked for a refund on or about 05/17/07

Love the NC Hwy 54 location in Durham! The greatest cook moved from the Roxboro St. location a few years ago (after the fire) and is fantastic. Moist fish, crunchy coatings, super service. Only one minor complaint: Cleaners need to attend to condiment station and edges of tables better. The place is so busy on Tuesdays they may not get the chance by the time we drop by. 100% rating by the Health Dept., so it must not be too bad on a normal night!

I live a half mile from there and (IIIIIIIII) will not eat there again.

I was disappointed in the service I received today 3-13-06,time16:45. I waited in the drive-through for 15 min. The young lady talked to family or friends for 10 minutes of that 15. I ordered a jumbo fish platter, it didn,t have slaw on my platter. By the time I received my food it was cold. I have alway enjoyed eating at Captain D's. But not at this location, Lawrenceburg Tn. 38464. I have lived here a little over a year and have not had good service at any given time. Thank you Renea

I have eaten at Captain D's in several locations in 3 states. A couple of the restaurants were good. But most have been really bad. I suppose it really depends on the management. As one reviewer commented, the employees couldn't care less if the customer is satisfied, or even if the food order is correct. That seems to be the attitude at most of the Captain D's. The same is true of the quality of the food. In most locations, the food is really bad. In our local Captain D's, the food is merely OK. The service is a notch below that...bad. The only thing that keeps it in business is that it is at the exit on I-75. Those poor travelers who stop in for a break.

I have noticed quit a few comments about Captain D's. The people who have not tried it, want to down it with incorrect opinions. As far as being a copy cat of a L.J. Silvers, where the hell is the comparison. They serve Block fish (compressed Pollock) They only have french fries, coleslaw and corn. Batter dipped chicken, and 3 different types of shrimp. We use Fresh Hoaki fillets for battered fish &country; style fish. We have a Baked Menu that includes, Fish, Chicken, Shrimp. Numerous Promotions that very every 4- 6 weeks to give customers something different. Oysters, Catfish, Flounder, Breaded Chicken strips. And all of it is REAL product. It is not processed food people. As far as wondering about the quality. We at Captain D's work our ass off for People. What other Fast Food restaurants even phathoms the thought of giving you,Hospitality.I dont see that from other Fast Food Co. Also we have a broad side orders menu. Baked potatoes, french fries, coleslaw, green beans, seasoned white... Read more

I enjoy eating at the Captain D's in Fort Payne, AL. However I just ate at the location on Sycamore View in Memphis, #6107. The fish tasted like it was cooked erlier in the day and warmed over. The service was slow. I waited approximatley 20 minutes for my food. I asked to speak to the manager, but one never came to talk to me. The employees were basically friendly. I think they need some management and training from the franchize.

Today I had a bad experince with our local Captin D's. When I went to order my food the employee kept interupting me, when I finally got my order placed I had to wait for almost 10 min., it wouldn't have been so bad if they had of been busy, but there was not one car in the parking lot. When I finally got my order, I asked the young lady working the window if there was tartor sauce in the bag, because they never put any in there. She said yes and slammed the window. So I set there and made sure that my order was right I never moved. My order on the reciept was right, but half of the food wasn't in the bag. So I asked them where the rest of my food was, and the manager got really hateful and said that it was all in there, but it wasn't because I took it all out and looked in it. They not once looked in the bag. Basicly they stood there and called me a liar. Which pissed me off. I finally just told them to keep my order and give me back my money, that was when the young lady at the windo... Read more

Captaind D's used to be a wonderful place to eat.The Oklahoma restaurants have gone down hill badly in the last year. You can't get service any more and there is never a manager available.I spent my last dime on them last week.It took 10 minutes just to order and 10 minutes for my food, which sucked!!! What has happened????? signed back to long johns

This place is nothing but a HUGE copy cat of the Long John's Silver Seafood Shoppe. Captain D's will never be as good as Long John's no matter how much they try. Another negative aspect of this place is that all of their food is extremely overpriced for what it is and you get smaller portions. It rarely tastes good. I never eat here anymore. I would rather drive out of my way to go to Long John's...

I used to not like Captain D's that much, but is has improved since then. For one, their fries have improved drastically, easily beating McDonald's fries. Secondly, both their fish and chicken are quite good, if a little messy. My big complaint is the consistently slow drive through lines.

I remember going to Captain D's when I lived in Maryland, however I never got any seafood but the chicken sandwiches were great. Something about fast food seafood makes me extremely nervous. Plus, I lived in MD with so much delicous fresh seafood readily available. I am sure Captain D's would not match up.
