Captain Beefheart

I'm not into him very much. Some songs, like " Electricity" and" Moonlight On Vermont," are good, but much of it is the kind of way out there, purposely uncommercial/borderline unlistenable music that proto-hipsters would have immediately done an about face on once it actually hit the top 100 albums in Billboard. Where's fitman to tell us how he got into Captain Beefheart way, way before anyone else?

Awful music that sounded like it was played and recorded by a bunch of guys on heroin.

Listen to 'Frownland' for an experiment in pain. Was his guitarist 12? Well, actually you can listen to any of it and it's all equally bad. The guys vocals make Cannibal Corpse sound like Celine Dion, and again, the guitar work is horrible. Final verdict: 13% more annoying than 'Current 93'.

Somehow I suspect his rank was an honorary commission from the airforce on some other planet.
