Wed Oct 19 2011I've read many of the reviews, mostly positive, but also quite a few rated C & P "terrible". I was afraid I would be among the relative few to also give a " terrible" rating. My experience was very frustrating due to the TIME it took C & P to repair my Canon G-9. The problem with my camera was the failure to power up issue. I sent the camera to them about 12/15/10 last year and it was FINALLY returned to me about 3/25/11, around 3 months later. Unfortunately, there was another problem with the camera when it was returned to me and I sent it back to them in late May 2011. C & P received it about 5/22/11 & I FINALLY received it back for the 2nd time on 10/14/11. I checked it out this past weekend and it fortunately seems to be fine now. I hope this message will serve to dispel all the "terrible" messages which asserted that the positive reviews were made up. I wondered myself when I read those bad reviews and wondered if I would ever get my camera back. I would like to add that ALL ... Read more

Mon Aug 22 2011Sent in two canon cameras on 7/2010 recieved them 8/2011. They repaired them and the cameras work. I did get the cameras back; but they never answered an email, always got the run around on phone calls. Not worth the headache or time. Will never use them again, can't recommend them. Has to be someone out there who does the job better.

Sun May 22 2011My beloved Canon G9 camera refused to power up, and I took it down to our highly reputable local camera shop for repair. While I was awaiting their diagnosis, I stumbled across a few photo forums that addressed this particular issue, which is endemic to this particular Canon PowerShot model. Further investigation turned up the name CamerasAndParts.com, a shop that dealt exclusively with this problem with this camera. When my local shop couldn't find the problem (even after I forwarded them some info I'd found online), I took a leap of faith and sent my baby off to Cameras and Parts in El Paso. Within an hour of placing my order online, I got a phone call from Ryan. He advised me about the proper way to ship the camera, and we discussed the problem at length. I mean, I was on the phone with this guy for half an hour. In these days of nonexistent customer service and rampant internet scams, I was flabbergasted. Ryan even offered to upgrade my shipping at no extra cost so I'd have my cam... Read more

Wed May 18 2011I had to send my second G9 in for repair because of power failure. They had repaired my first G9 and its been working perfectly. They did the repairs on this item and gave a warranty to back up there work. They are the best priced repair place I found and the work is excellent. Rare combination to get both. The worst part about the whole thing is that the problems everyone has with there G9 are Canons fault but they won't do a recall. Its a great camera its just to bad that Canon can't stand behind there work as well as Cameras and Parts do. If you have one and need work this is the place to go.

Tue May 17 2011My Canon Powershot digital Camera G9 lens wouldn't retract; the view screen was scratched and cracked; my wife was ready to divorce me for dropping the camera and "breaking" what she'd learned was a $1,000 camera. Not expecting much, I found and emailed Cameras And Parts with my dilemma. They called me almost immediately, talked me through the process they would follow to fix, replace, and express return the camera to me. I sent them a written request with my address and a check for the amount they said the fix would be. Within just 3-4 days, the camera was already in the post returning to me and what a wonder. Cameras And Parts fixed the viewing screen so it looks new, got the inner parts working so the lens retracts; and, to boot, they carried out some other internal surgery on a defect that showed up in these cameras. Bottom line; for about $100 I had a like-new $1K camera (the back story on the value is that the camera originally sold for $500 but two versions of the camera later t... Read more

Sun May 15 2011Camerasandparts.com was very responsive. They did not have the used parts in stock, so they gave me new replacement parts at no extra charge. Payment, shipping, and work was all above average, and I will use them again with pleasure. Read more: http://www.rateitall.com/rc-8335174.aspx#ixzz1MRpG7hY2

Sun May 15 2011CamerasAndParts.com repaired my Canon SD700 IS. Previously, it would power on with a blank display. To get the display to light up, I had to cycle through the display options. Also, often the images were underexposed. After doing some research on the web, I found CamerasAndParts.com and learned of their "Complete Service and Repair" package for "No Image / Distorted Image from Lens Service / Repair Deal." It is a great deal. Now, after the repair, the camera is as good as new. Thank you for a great job.

Fri May 13 2011Cameras and parts is the worst company by a long shot that I have ever worked with. It took over 10 months to get my camera back. It works great now, which is the only good thing I can say about them but are you kidding me? 10 MONTHS!!! and the worst part was when I called to complain I had to leave up to 6 messages before I would get a response if I got any, and then somehow I'm the a$$hole. The staff there do not take responsiblilty for anything. One guy even said to me, "well sir, we're not the ones who broke the camera". this was around the 5 month mark. I could go on and on and on, but I really have lost enough time, calling, laying awake at night angry that they weren't calling me back. Seriously I can't get it all out, because as I write this I'm starting to vibrate. So please if you are lucky enough to read this before you send your camera in for repair, don't do it!!! Throw it in the lake, burn it, anything, and if they give you the same crap they tell everyone, that all the b... Read more

Sat Apr 30 2011Keep in mind that in order to increase their positive review they offer 1 year warranty on the cameras for free if you write 5 positive reviews online about their store. So take the plethora of positives with a grain of salt. The service was very slow, I got my camera 3 months after the agreed upon date. it is out of focus all of the time and over exposes enormously (it did not do that when i send it ). To be fair I am sure if i had send it back they would have fixed it but since I am planning on using my camera in my lifetime I gave up and did it locally. If you plan on using your camera by this summer this is clearly not the place cheers

Sat Apr 23 2011This is the best business I have dealt with yet. They take immediate action, give you a complete explanation, keep you thoroughly posted, promise as delivered, they are fast and a great price. They provide helpful information, and go the extra mile. All business should be like this one. I will use them for all my camera needs. You will be thankful if you do!

Sun Apr 03 2011Great price, perfect repair, in a short time. Best of all, when I called to check status they treated me with care and respect. My Canon G7 and me have both seen better days but thanks to Medicare and Cameras and Parts we've got a few more adventures to record and post online. I recommend, without hesitation or qualification, this fine repair service to anyone.

Thu Mar 31 2011I was unsure of how the process worked so I called the company for more information and they were very helpful and friendly! I appreciated the fast service. From the day I shipped the camera to them for repair until the day I got it back was exactly SEVEN days!! I was so impressed. I paid for expedited service so I was hoping to have it back with 2 weeks but SEVEN days?! WOW. I will definitely tell my friends about this company. Great service! Thanks! Tina Springfield VA

Tue Mar 22 2011Unbelievable! I searched online and found CamerasAndParts.com. Got uncomfortable when I had to pay for the repair up front before sending the camera so I decided to call to see who was on the other end of the phone line. Got Ryan on the phone and he could not have been more helpful. He knew all about my specific camera and what the problem was. While we were on the phone together, he ordered the parts he would need to fix it. I mailed the camera from New Jersey on Wednesday and got if back the following Monday! I sent it priority mail and paid the extra few bucks for rush service but even with that I never expected to get it back so quickly. I would highly recommend CamerasAndParts.com for camera repair and exceptional customer service. How refreshing in this day and age. Thanks, Ryan!

Sat Mar 19 2011BEWARE They have had my camera for months. They have had my money for months. They have made promises and have not delivered on ANY of them. Stalling , lying and theft are much worse than "POOR COMMUNICATION" They DO NOT BELONG to THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB) even though (85+) people have filed complaints. Think about it. BBB El Paso confirms "RYAN" is the OWNER and ONLY employee at camerasandparts.com (85+) COMPLAINTS for this ONE MAN "service" scammer. TERRIBLE rating is as LOW as you can go The "great" experience reviews that appear here are PHONY. It's the oldest TRICK in the book. Don't be HUSTLED by this con-man NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO USE ANY OTHER COMPANY. ONLY camerasandparts.com SHILLERS whose job it is to DISAGREE DO your homework on this so called "company" and YOU WON"T USE THEM. BEWARE

Thu Mar 17 2011I would like to highly reccomend CameraAndParts.com on repairing my Cannon IS S3 camera that had a severe lens error. When I emailed them about how long it would take to repair the camera since I was plannng a vacation soon and needed the camera, I got an instant email repsonse. The camera was repaired and returned like new in just a few weeks. I would of purchased a new camera if it were not for CameraAndParts.com Bryan Milford, MA

Mon Mar 14 2011I wish I would have read these before I gave them my camera! They have had my camera for over 6 weeks for an order I paid extra for three day express service. They won't answer the phone or when you do catch them, they lie to get you off the phone. Turning it over to my credit card company for fraud! Stay Away!!!!!! 2/3/11 The company stepped up and returned my call. They claimed to fixed the camera and performed additional repairs at no cost to make up for their communication errors, shipped it out that same day. Everyone makes mistakes, they seem concerned about making their customers satisfied. 3/8/11 The camera came back but still was not fixed. I sent it back again based on Ryan telling me I would get next day service. He's had it for a week now. I'll update as we go. 3/8/11 They are sending the camera back today unrepaired and I was cursed out over the phone by Ryan. He thinks I'm harassing them because I called their business after hours to find my camera that I paid to h... Read more

Sun Mar 13 2011Anybody had any luck getting their camera back? About 5 months for me. They haven't responded to me or the BBB. Anybody got any results from other consumer/goverment organizations? What worked to get your camera back? UPDATE: I finally got my camera back! I does work again, however in my opinion C & P does not understand the idea of customer service. I would never use them again.

Sat Mar 12 2011I sent my Canon G9 to Cameras and Parts for repair of the 'lens error' problem, after discovering online that my melt-down was one many others have experienced. C&P repaired, lock-tightened screws and refurbished my camera as promised; I also bought another G9 from them as a spare. They are knowledgeable about the camera repairs they provide, especially Canon's loose screw problem. I also appreciate their great customer service.

Thu Mar 10 2011I sent our Canon G9 to Cameras and Parts...but not until after speaking with them on the phone and feeling reassured that they would make good on their service claims. They did so and more! If you've done much research into some of the problems/errors that come with owning even a good quality point-and-shoot like the G9, you know how few (and expensive) your options are when it comes to repairs once your camera is out of warranty. Ryan was one of the most helpful and informative representatives I've ever spoken to and overall I received some of the best online and phone customer service through Cameras and Parts that I can remember. I have already recommended them to friends with similar camera problems. I got my camera back sooner than I expected at a price that can't be beat and haven't had a problem with it since. Thanks guys! - CP, Huntington Station, NY

Thu Mar 10 2011Sent in my G9 in September for a "no power on" issue. The day they got my order a gentleman called and explained everything they would do. The whole loose screw thing and that it was a simple fix. I was excited and sent in the camera. After the first month I started to wonder.. I would email, call and sometimes talk to someone. Get promises. It is almost done, we need a new main board (no extra charge), waiting for parts, parts here, almost done, will ship in two days, ready to ship, and on and on. I was beginning to wonder if I was part of a scam. Then I found their BBB status and then I was more afraid that I had been taken. Then I started to read deeper into these reviews on this site...... You get the picture. HOWEVER, six (6) months later, I finally got it TODAY in the mail. The same camera, fixed and working perfectly. So how do I rate them. Terrible on TIME of service, Excellent in causing me to almost lose my mind, but before I had a brick of a camera that wouldn... Read more

Fri Mar 04 2011We are very happy with everything. We did nag them a little since we were needing our camera back for a trip we had coming up. They came through and we had our camera back in time for our trip. We took a bunch of pictures, over a hundred at the museum we visited plus many more. The pictures are all nice and the camera hasn't had any problems since it was repaired. We are very happy with the level of the repair. If we have another camera break then we would use them again. We will also refer anyone there who needs to get a camera repair done.

Thu Mar 03 2011The repair took longer than I wanted it to take. It's back now and it seems to work to my satisfaction. Problems with them are slow email communication and repair was not as fast as I would have liked it to be. The repair work is fine.

Thu Mar 03 2011UPDATE-(from bad to great) I send my G9 to them and FedEx confirmed delivery on Jan 5, 2011. I spoke in person to a mgr after being on hold for 8 weeks. There was a problem with my email. they found another problem with my camera and for an additional charge but with free labor. They have finally shipped my camera back. They upgraded my shipping to priority, and now I just hope that it will give many more years of service. They explained all the adjustments they do to bring the camera back to top specs, and it was very impressive.

Thu Mar 03 2011My camera is a Canon Sureshot SD890 that presented a lens problem on a trip to Maine. I waited until I got back and then used Cameras & Parts to get it serviced. The one and only complaint I had with them is it's hard to get a response while the camera is being worked on. It arrived back working fine and I satisfied now and although they do good work, the slow communication is the drawback at this place. In these days, good service and communication should be a standard. At this place they just fall a little short in the communication field. Though they were very good for the price and repair and they were nice when I got to talk with them on one occassion.

Thu Mar 03 2011My order was international so it took a little longer with the shipping but they did a fine job. It works and it works like it did when new. I am happy. The biggest thing they could work on is communication. I won't fault them here because I got updated but it was through a generic email system which is not so personal as many would agree (we like a real person these days, not a computer updating us on our order). That wasn't a big problem for me but that was really the only area where I could see they could improve which is why some people probably complain. If you look at the price of their service and the work they do on the camera, it's a great deal for a repair service. Their service was recommended to me and I'd recommend them to others.

Tue Mar 01 2011Cameras and Parts I rage at the unreturned calls and e-mails I rage at the images that have not been captured while my camera is in your shop for service Somewhere a baby smiles his first toothless smile a flower blossoms a dog wears a hat these moments not captured for others to share these moments lost to the sands of time Cameras and Parts I rage at the unreturned calls and e-mails I rage at the images that have not been captured while my camera is in your shop for service

Mon Feb 28 2011The company is really good for repair work. Communication by email and phone with them is where the problem sits. You email and wait and wait for a reply, same thing with leaving them a message. When you speak to them they are actually nice, and they didn't seem surprised about the communication which actually surprised me. They claim to be increasing their pricing soon so they can hire more staff to provide better communication. When the price goes up, people won't like that but they didn't seem to mind. Communication is one of the important areas and even though they do good repairs and for the best price most will find, they do not provide good communication to go with it. To the Hot Doggy guy, whats the latest payment demand, lol. Dude, you're going to get yourself in some serious trouble but to each is own.. The place is not at all bad, only communication is where they are poor. If they'd improve on their communication which it sounds like they are, I'd be thrilled to change my ra... Read more

Sat Feb 12 2011Okay you asked me to review my experience so here goes: your communication sucks. Yes you did a fine repair and you did it at a fair price but respond to emails more quickly for god's sake people. I would not use the service again only because there communication is useless. You email and they don't respond for days and days. All but one time I got a quick reply, every other response was slow and one response you sent was just automated and I didn't want that. I'll give 'em credit for doing a good repair on my camera and for giving me the best price I could find but for heavens sake, just respond to emails and people would be happy.

Wed Feb 09 2011UPDATE I picked up a second camera online like mine that turned on but had a lens error. I had them fix it and again they were excellent. They are a great service and very reasonable for the price. --- They fixed my camera right the first time. Quality repair and pricing was very reasonable. If my camera ever breaks again I would go with this place for the repair. The repair went excellent.
