    I started doing basic calisthenics exercises in high school and I keep practicing to this day. They changed my physique tremendously and I would say that I look much better than the average guy without having picked up a dumbbell in my entire life. I remember a few years ago people were saying that it's impossible to build muscle with calisthenics, but these people are nowhere to be found now, 'cause now everybody is saying the opposite. I'm glad people understood that you don't necessarily need external weights to build muscle. Your own body weight is enough, provided that you train with high enough volume (sets and reps) The biggest advantages are that it's completely free, you don't need any equipment or a gym membership. The injury risk is much lower, unless you do crazy stuff, which you don't have to. Lastly, a body that you can control is a healthy body.
