Tue Feb 16 2010Dr. Calat and his staff are exceptional, having provided me with the most positive dental experience of my life. Dr. Calat has a knack for putting patients at ease and answering any and all questions -- he is very talented in his work and I always felt 110% confident about my procedures. I underwent two procedures at his office: wisdom tooth extraction and dental implant treatment. Each time, I experienced almost no pain, no swelling and quick healing -- it was almost a little magical!! My dental implant, which included an extraction and bone grafting, was successful (and a piece of cake -- for me at least -- in retrospect). Moreover, I got to know the staff on a first name basis and you're treated like you are the only patient. The staff is very friendly and accommodating -- it was easy to get appointments (no long waits!), and inquiries regarding billing were easily handled via email with the office's Patient Coordinator. I feel truly blessed to have found Dr. Calat's office and r... Read more

Wed Dec 02 2009Dr. Calat is great and I would strongly recommend him if you have a serious oral problem. I have gone to him about 4 times because the problem I have is very serious and many oral surgeons said they could not do the surgery before going to him. Dr. Calat is widely separated from the rest because he gives you honest, professional service with affordable prices that cannot be beat. Dr. Calat has won many awards for his work and every time I go into his office I know I am in good hands. Everyone in the office is very friendly and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.Thank you so much Dr. Calat.

Thu Oct 29 2009My dentist referred me to Dr. Calet for implants. A friend of mine had already used him and raved about how nice he was and that she never had a problem with his work. I went to see him, and he removed two of my teeth and gave me two implants. I now can affirm everything my friend told me. He was professional, careful, did not promise more than he could deliver, and was extremely considerate. I would highly recommend him to everyone. My only regret is that while he is my (forever) oral surgeon and implant specialist, he is not also my dentist.

Sun Oct 04 2009I was having pain in the area of a dental implant that was implanted in 2005 by another doctor. I was sure the implant had gone bad and needed to be replaced. I knew replacement would be very costly and very painful due to the placement of the implant near the sinus cavity. My dentist stated the implant would need to be taken out sooner or later as it was only be held together by a thin and retreating amount of bone. Rather than quickly get me under the knife, which I had fully expected the oral surgeon to recommend, Dr. Calat had me obtain old x-rays from previous dentists and the original oral surgeon who performed the implant surgery initially. After comparing these x-rays with a CAT scan taken by Dr. Calat, he determined that there was in fact significant bone in the area that did not show up on a conventional X-Ray machine. The pain was likely due to some bacteria relating to the location of the implant near the sinus cavity. The pain was gone a few days later, and Dr. Calat sta... Read more

Sun Sep 13 2009Dr. Calat was truly amazing. I didn't have to sign a boat-load of paperwork, as the office has online registration that saved me from filling out clipboard after clipboard of my medical history. Dr. Calat and his staff are reassuring, easy to talk to, and answer any and all questions you may have. Their friendly office atmosphere and humor are also great when you're nervous about a procedure. Pain? What pain? I took a couple Motrin for slight discomfort afterwards, but only needed to take the standard antibiotics post-surgery and I was fine. It was one of the best dental appointments I've had. My dentist told me Dr. Calat came highly recommended, and I can see why. Thanks Dr. Calat!

Thu Sep 10 2009This was my first oral surgery experience and after hearing a lot of horror stories from friends, regarding wisdom teeth extraction I was worried... But I found that things went extremely smoothly here and it actually only took about 15 minutes for me during which I was asleep anyway. Really great staff, excellent overall!

Wed Jun 24 2009My visit to the Mid Manahttan Oral Surgery Office was by far the most pleasant dental experience that I have ever had. Dr. Calet is a wonderful dentist. The combined Staff efforts to abate my anxiety about "THE TRIP TO THE DENTIST OFFICE" was a major success. If there is ever a Dental Hall of Fame I will nominate you guys. Thanks again. Regards, CMEH

Wed May 20 2009Who knew that I'd have to be a regular at an oral surgeon's office. I guess a perfect storm of problems landed me in Dr. Calat's chair, first for an implant, then an extraction. I was referred by my equally-great dentist, who referred me to Dr. Calat. He takes my insurance, which was also necessary. I'm scheduled to see him again next week for another procedure (lucky me!). He's terrific, soft-spoken and very, very skilled. I had an implant and if I took one painkiller after the procedure, it was a lot. Almost no pain after. I can be nervous and if I felt a twinge and called, the answer was: just stop by. As another reviewer said, I wish he did general dentistry: I'd be a fan. His staff are sweet, especially Robert....Do not hesitate to choose Dr. Calat.

Tue Apr 21 2009I've always been notorious for being a coward when it comes to dental work. I had been dreading having all of my wisdom teeth removed. I called Mid Manhattan Oral Surgery, the staff was friendly, informative, organized and quick. What can I say, the procedure was done in a flash, they put me to sleep, I woke up, felt kind of woozy and all of the bad teeth were gone. They had all of my paperwork ready for me and arranged for someone to get me because of my "wooziness." Now when it comes to other basic dental work, I really wish Dr Paul Calat offered these services, he went through the procedure with me, took care of it and we were done. I've never had such a quick pleasant experience getting medical work done.

Mon May 26 2008With any service provider the two things I value most are ability and demeanor; Dr. Calat and his team did a great job in both respects. I had one wisdom tooth removed--my first non-routine dental procedure. In terms of demeanor Dr. Calat is both a friendly and calming presence. I felt comfortable the entire time. In terms of ability, while I can't comment on the procedure itself--I was asleep--I can say that I was pleasantly surprised with the post-surgery results. I experienced very little discomfort after the fact, to the surprise of many of my friends, and am almost fully recovered only a few days later. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Calat and to return for any future dental surgery needs.
