We did a lot of that. No wonder so many of my friends went in to the construction business....

I used to find clubhouses all the time, packed to the brim with dew-moistened nudie mags. I keep telling myself they were dew moistened.

Absolutely, not enough club houses, and interaction with kids, and between kids, too many isolated electronic crap going on

One time we decided to build a clubhouse but the older kids constantly told us younger kids to go play on the playground while they built the clubhouse. I don't remember how or why, but I ended up being kicked out of the club the same day. Luckily, it only lasted one more day. About one year I was the only freaking kid between 6-12 living in the neighbourhood who did not get to be part of a club. I was the second youngest kid in the neighbourhood for quite a while and the youngest had an older brother who everyone respect, which was the only reason she got to be part of things when I didn't. I did hang around their 'clubhouse' for some time, hoping that they'd eventually let me join- that club also didn't last long. The only reason this gets four stars is because I have very fond memories of the clubhouse we've built the summer I was 10 years old. We used to stay there till midnight and play spin the bottle. The youngest kid were about 8, the oldest about 14. That was only 9 years ag... Read more

I think we all at one point, have made a clubhouse. Whether it was out of a box, in a closet, under our forts (blankets over chairs).... clubhouses were the best place to hang out with friends and you were always the coolest, since it was yours lol

First of all when i was a kid i never knew much about carpentry, so i never knew how to rough frame. My first clubhouse was made from a wooden box crate which i found behind the local Little Caesars pizza. All i had to do was mount it on the lilac tree, and add sheathing/roof. It was pretty cool, but only large enough for one person. It looked more like a deer hunting tree stand/bivulac One year when i was away at Boy Scout camp it was torn down

I grew up on a two acre property on the edge of a city. There were still the old stumps of ancient trees in the back of the "yard" some of them eight or ten feet across, the remnants of logging operations from the early 1900's. I had a clubhouse fort on top of one of them, a rope ladder leading to it, and it was surrounded by trees. I remember great days of fighting off desperate attacks, sailing a pirate ship on the Spanish Main etc....

We'd lean picnic tables against the house and cover them with towels.. my favorite 'fort' was the spot under the stairs.

I did not build a tree house but had  a dollhouse in the backyard when I was five on up. it looked like a little house with a door and window. small kiddie furniture. it was probably about nine feet by five feet with a roof etc. nice to play in as a kid. then I got too old and it became a storage unit then got shipped up north to cousins and it became a home for a horse. got some use out of it at least.

We used to gather up old plywood,  two by fours and other odds and ends to make temporary clubhouses for the summer. We had a pretty big backyard so my house was always the place to build them. We used to sleep in them almost every night during the summer. It was a lot of fun.

It wasn't a clubhouse, it was a fort. It had a moat, and about a nine foot hole in the back for when the outer walls were breached. We used to set traps, and I actually knocked myself out one day springing a branch that we had bent into a fence. Good times.

I never did this but did make a few "snow" caves in my day.  My brother and his best friend next door built a two room tree house that part of it went over the roof of the garage.  It was pretty cool.

My dad helped my brothers and I build a clubhouse amongst a tree in our backyard. It was a clubhouse of sorts for us and our friends for a long time.

Aaaaahhhh....childhood memories are now starting to hit me like a sack of potatoes!  Forts and clubhouses were the bomb when I was a kid....and I believe that they still are to this day.

I didn't get to build one, but we had one that my mother had helped make when SHE was a child. Other than that, my brother and I made forts out of blankets while using the bunk beds as a frame :)

I remember going into the woods and building a tree house with some lumber that was left over after our church was built. My friend mary and I went there a lot, to get away from everyone. Was a lot of fun.
