Tue Jul 12 2011First four seasons were excellent; after that, it tended to slide downhill. At its peak, it was exciting and endearing. It was amazing how, even though you knew Buffy was not going to get killed (it was her show after all) you still were filled with tension when she would get into a dangerous situation.

Sun Feb 27 2011Created by writer-director Joss Whedon, TV's Buffy has complex characters, clever stories & an addictive mythology that lovers of gothic lore can really sink their teeth into. The series ran from 1997 to 2003, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, the latest in a line of young women known as Slayers, chosen by fate to battle against vampires, demons & other forces of darkness. Guided by "Watcher" Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) & aided by friends Willow (Alyson Hannigan)& Xander (Nicholas Brendon), they frequently save the world from annihilation using physical combat, magic & detective-style investigation. Willow eventually becomes an adept witch, while Giles contributes his extensive knowledge of demonology & supernatural lore. At the heart of the show are the two male vampires who Buffy just can't slay ~ darkly romantic vampire-with-a-soul Angel formerly Angelus (David Boreanaz) & wisecracking bad boy Spike aka William the Bloody (James Marsters). Other characters inc... Read more

Wed Feb 09 2011Buffy the vampire slayer was originally a film called Buffy the vampire slayer which made the TV series although in the film Buffy was played by Kristy Swanson not Sara Michelle Gellar . The film itself helped out the TV series get started by explaining why Buffy moved to sunny dale in the first place at the beginning of season 1 . although i found the hell mouth to be at the bottom of the new school where Buffy now goes to a bit far fetched, it sort of works well . Also the whole Buffy falling in love with Angel who's a vampire a bit strange as Buffy is a vampire slayer ! you would of thought she'd kill him by the end of the first part of season 1 not season 2. who later comes back !i find this a bit to cheesy . although works well unlike Buffy and spike in season 6-7 what were the writers thinking as they where enemies from season 1 as for Buffy's new sister dawn what the hell was that all about putting her half way through the seasons ,but all in all not bad although seasons 1,2,3... Thu Jan 27 2011This was one of the best shows ever! My mom used to watch it with me, but then she saw some of the sadistic elements of the show and stopped watching it. I still watch it though, but I just remember how this none of what happens on the show is not real.

Thu Jan 13 2011An absolutely amazing television show, that has something in it for everyone. I would definitely recommend it!! It has fantastic characters and gripping story lines. Just don't judge it by its first season since it is quite old but it is still great!!!!!!

Wed May 05 2010I love this show, its witty, dramatic and full of blood sucking vampires. Sarah Michelle Geller was a good choice for the character of Buffy. The movie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" bombed, but the show certainly was a success. My favourite characters are Buffy, Spike, Giles and Willow.

Wed May 05 2010It's a TEE-VEE show, pure bread & circus nonsense which is simply filler between the REALLY important crap: the commercials which target brainless, impressionable teens with their message that they would be popular and get laid if they use their crappy product(s). It's sad, but the time wasted passively observing this crap could be better spent reading something that will actually stimulate the brain.

Tue Mar 30 2010First half of this season was pretty much Kim Possible (what's the sitch, guys? Vamps? No big. Watch my ka-ra-teh!). Second half actually started to be good, the first standout episode being "The Pack". Season 1 has a fantastic finale, one of the best I've ever seen. Totally satisfying. If you're halfway through or something and want to quit, DON'T! I know what I'm talking about. Season 2 (just stick season 1 out, PLEASE!) is some of the best television ever produced. It has everything anyone could hope for in TV. Season one is ok, but every other season (except maybe season 5) is so good that you'll crap your own pants. (: happy viewing!

Tue Nov 22 2005I loved Buffy big time. Helped that S-M G is one foxy little babe. There were some great stories, strong characterisation and a good balance between some genuinely creepy moments and wry humour.

Wed Aug 25 2004KMcK gave this show the perfect review, I don't know how I can do it any better. I will put my two cents in however. I do think Buffy the Vampire Slayer was possibly one of the best written television shows of my generation. The show always kept me watching and I was ALWAYS seriously entertained no matter what was going on. My favorite characters are of course, Buffy...who was perfect as the main Slayer. I also loved Faith in the seasons that she showed up, her character always gave me goose bumps. The Faith character was a really strong female, no matter how confused she was..she always kicked ass ! I loved her. I also loved how Buffy and Faith ended up being friends in the finale. When all the seasons end up on DVD, you can bet I will own ALL of them. One of the greatest shows ever. I truly miss it. It was cancelled way too early. (Note- it wasn't cancelled because of poor ratings, it was cancelled because of mind games played by 2 tv networks.)

Tue Aug 24 2004Buffy was one of the greatest, and most undervalued, television shows of all time. It's been dismissed as camp by the Emmy people and by viewers who judge based on seeing one or two episodes - the problem being, that seeing one or two episodes can't show the show's true strengths - storytelling, character continuity, and plot continuity. It's normal on TV shows to forget a character once they've left the show, to disregard a character's past on a regular basis, and to forget (or just ignore) what happened a year ago. And then, there's this show. On this show, there's a solid cast of 3-dimensional (but still consistent) characters, who actually possess *memories* of what happened before on the show! The show is full of instances where plots are foreshadowed, sometimes up to 2 years in advance, and there are references in Season 7 to characters that left in Season 3. It's so refreshing. Plus, the characters themselves are exceedingly well-developed. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and ent... Read more

Sat Aug 14 2004One of the greatest shows of all time. Great writing, great characters, great direction, great music, great subject, great comedy, great drama, great romance, hot ladies, hot men, hot lava (there was some in there somewhere)... I can't get enough of this show.

Thu Aug 05 2004Buffy the Vampire Slayer in my opinion was the greatest show in the history of television. It had everything-great actors and actresses, great plots, great music. Sarah Michelle Gellar gave some of her most amazing performances on this show and proved just what a brilliant actress she is.
by matt78
Wed Jul 21 2004One of the best shows I've ever seen. Many people get sceptic when they see the Title The Vampire Slayer but there is so much more about that show than just being the Slayer. Evert character has a story and the writing is just so smart. You just can't stop watchting that show. It lost a little bit of it's fascination at the end but the first 3 seasons (I also liked Season 5) were just amazing. I miss the show a lot.

Sun Jun 20 2004Best show ever made since television started! Sarah Michelle Gellar was the perfect actress for the part of Buffy and Michelle fitted the character Dawn (a spoilt brat) brilliantly! Mon Apr 26 2004The BEST SHOW EVER (besides The Apprentice). Buffy is everything! What an amazing cast, scripts, plot, etc. This gives girls a positive role model, the show manages to deal with real life situations while the main character kills vampires! Genius! All of the Actors are truly phenomenol! Especially Sarah Michelle Gellar! She is an absolutely amazing actress!
