Sat Sep 05 2009Big stadium, specially after latest renovations. I like the bowl design on the sidelines but hate the enzones. They dont fit with the rest of the bowl design. Ruined the stadium as a whole for me.

Wed Jan 28 2009I don't even think it's an argument anymore. Bryant-Denny is the nicest and most luxurious college stadium in the country. Nicer than most NFL stadiums. Will add a south endzone expansion. Will have 150+ luxury suites. 4 videoboards (jumbotrons). 2 LCD ribbon boards...largest in the NCAA. I think the reason it's rated low overall, is b/c the rival fans have come in and rated it low just b/c they don't like us. And most of these ratings are very old. From 2003? Reasonabley objective people say it's the nicest in the country. Also, the University of Alabama has been recognized by several publications as having one of the nicest campuses in the country.

Mon Feb 18 2008Great stadium. Big, good sight lines, big scoreboard and jumbotrons, classic bowl and symmetry, over 100 luxury boxes, great fans. With the 2006 North endzone expansion the stadium is first class. Don't mind the Auburn or LSU, fans, you wouldn't expect them to complement the place if it was made of gold.

Wed Sep 19 2007As a visitor in 2001, for the "Josh Reed Game," I actually enjoyed myself, but that may have been largely due to my LSU Tiger's performance on the field. Bama fans were much better than I expected them to be. They were generally warm and welcoming. Much different than the classless fans of the other SEC school in the state. So, it kind of pains me to rate my visit so low, nevertheless, I feel I must. The stadium is subpar and out of date in comparison to the other Conference facilities. I found it have an "old" feel to it, not a good classic steep in tradition old, rather it was a this stadium feels like it was built in the tradition of the explosion of shopping malls in the late 60's( yes, i know the stadium is older than that, so don't bother correcting me, I'm just describing the feel). In addition, Sweet Home Alabama gets played entirely too often. Sure, I expected to hear the song a few times, but after hearing it the 97th time I began to feel sick. Worst of all, that was just 4 m... Read more

Thu Oct 12 2006With the addition Alabama's stadium rivals anybody in the country. Club level indoor seating more luxury boxes than any other stadium. The most biggest and best High def big screens. Alabama's history mixed in. It is way up there go on rolltide.com and look at the additions to the stadium 93,000 plus and 8000 mor seats are coming.

Mon Jul 24 2006Ok, I'm a diehard Auburn fan and alum, but in the interest of fairness I'm going to be honest about Bryant-Denny. It's not a bad place! I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. Inside is great, with good views of the field, beautiful scoreboards and that usual wild SEC atmosphere. My only complaints are that the concourses are dismal, and the outside of the stadium resembles a prison. I'm also not a fan of UA's campus, but I can see why some folks like it. So, honestly, I can say I enjoy Bryant-Denny. I'd go back... especially when Auburn wins there as much as we do. (I had to get the zing in, come on folks...). War Eagle!

Mon Feb 13 2006Some comments are true. In the Past BDS was not the loudest facility in the country. Main reason being is Bama always used to win. It was not a question if they would beat UT and UF at home....but by how much. Also BDS never had a chance to have a great atmosphere because all of Bama biggest games were played at Legion Fied until the past 5 years, saving th enot so important games for Bryant - Denny. However in these past 5 years the Bama fans have gotten their passion back. Evidence being OU barely escaping with a win in 2003...and a 28 point smashing of Florida this year which i think was the loudest Bama crowd ever. Decibles were well over 100 for that game. The symetry of the stadium is beautiful. Bama fans are th emost passionate in college football hands down. They really love their Crimson Tide. Once capacity reaches 92,000 + it will be the most beautiful stadium in the southeast.

Mon Dec 26 2005without a doubt the best college stadium in the nation

Fri Nov 04 2005I thought T-town was a great football environment. I thought my experience there was a grreat . I have been to Knoxville, Athens, Auburn, Gainsville, and many others stadiums. Alabama is truly something special. You get that feeling of being at one of the best three programs in the country going through you. The women were some of the best looking I have ever seen. Its been a difficult past five or so years but there on there way back. Maybe even a 13th national titile.

Sun Oct 30 2005Clearly this has been flooded by auburn fans. This is a great facility that ill only get greater as they are adding on to an endzone which will put this facility's capacity around 92,000. With great loud fans this is a great stadium fo college football.

Fri Aug 12 2005Hey alabama fans....so wat was the score when yall beat us at bryant-denny...oh wait u never have i think the record id 0-5 for yall against auburn...yeah that deserves a high rating on hard place to play.....but im sure yall will go cry to the bear no wait he is dead also...tuscaloosa is nasty, filthy, and just plane disgusting. I only hate goin there cuz i feel like im in hell
by au_style
Wed Jul 27 2005terrible.... the whole place is terrible..... you get to the campus and its so gloomy.... i agree with the last rating, the graveyard by the stadium tells you to stay away, the bear's not coming back...... my buddy pissed on the stadium when he left the AU-bamer game a few yrs ago (which probably raised the property value) you know, the one that we won there... oh wait, we won all of them there.... mix in a rowdy environment bamer!

Wed Jul 27 2005Alabama fans are still waiting on the bear to rise up and coach again. Hands down, the worst stadium and atmosphere in the sec. Great place to go if you wanna date your sister like most redneck bama fans. Notice the graveyard next to the stadium. Symbolic of the current status of the bear!!!!!!!!!!! Let it go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by denver_morgan
Fri Jul 08 2005Stadium is very good.Fans are bored during games , you hear more talk about their old coach than all other topics combined ..Oh how the mighty have fallen. Campus is nice, not much of a home field advantage.lots of pregame drinks. Be careful with their fans.Great place to view a game,BUT very over-rated game atmosphere

Sun May 01 2005The negative comments concerning Bryant-Denny and The University of Alabama are interesting. It is obvious most of these people have never been there or are Tennessee or Auburn fans. I loved the comment that the campus smelled! there used to be a paper mill a couple of miles away but it closed 30 YEARS AGO! One idiot commented that the inbred fans were drinking moonshine. I've been to scores of games there and have NEVER seen any moonshine (but lots of Jim Beam, Johnny Walker, Jack Black, etc). Overall Alabama fans are courteous and knowledgeable, unlike Auburn fans who base their entire identity on what happens to Alabama, Georgia fans who vomit and urinate on the opposition fans or LSU fans who throw whiskey bottles (I got hit in the back with one at Tiger Stadium. In reality Bryant Denny Stadium is comfortable, relatively clean, and easily assessible. As far as capacity goes it could have an additional 10,000 seats if the average seat width was reduced like those in Knoxville!

Fri Nov 26 2004Beautiful Campus, hedges surrounding field, beautiful sight lines, and its expanding to 93,000 by 2006. I was so glad when the Tide stopped playing their biggest games at the then bigger Legion Field in Birmingham.

Sat Oct 16 2004not really rating bryant denny, im rating crimson tide fans themselves. we played you in 97, i think. (East Carolina) anyways, i cant think of any better college football fans anywhere. we could not walk 10 feet without an alabama fan offering us a beer or something off their grill. never having played us before, they were knowledgable of our program and genuinely glad we made the trip. i would go back tomorrow to get beat in birmingham (or tuscaloosa) again. thank you, bama, for being great fans. you're welcome in greenville anytime.

Fri Aug 20 2004Bryant-Denny Stadium gets only three stars instead of four for several reasons. First off, I'd like to say that I enjoyed my experience at the stadium, even as a member of a visiting marching band, and that the crowd was on the whole very polite, even cheering us off the field (until we broke into our fight song halfway off). The fans are very knowledgable about football and tend to be very polite. Unfortunately, there isn't as much of a buzz about the place, a certain excitement that makes a college game truly enjoyable. As for the architecture of the stadium, it is beautiful, with terrific symmetry, a high capacity, and wonderful sight lines, even in visiting band seating. The stands are somewhat far from the field, but that would be my only complaint. I wouldn't discourage you from going, and by all means you should not miss the experience if you are an Alabama fan, but if you're looking for the best atmosphere in college football, it's not here.

Wed Jul 28 2004I have been to LSU, MSU, Ole Miss,Georgia and Kentucky, but I will always call Alabama home. Being raised in the south, football runs in my blood. There's something about waking up on a saturday morning with the crisp fall air outside, and you know that you are going to watch the Tide play, that is the greatest feeling you can have from living in the south. A beautiful campus, the smell of barbeque in the air, having a shining alabama girl by your side, and then when it is time to make that pilgrimmage to the huge, beautiful stadium that peeks it's head above the treetops in an intimidating but also moving way, it gives you chills to think of all the past's memories held there...so maybe the Tide is low, but the crimson tide will once again reign over the south in the near future. just like LSU and Oklahoma couldnt win a game in the late 90's, Bama is having its time, but will be back(and fans of a school that needs not be mentioned have always been second to their superior, alabama, a... Sun Jul 11 2004If your stadium doesnt have enough atmosphere to keep Northern Illinois from winning in it, you are not top ten material.

Wed Apr 14 2004This is a peaceful place when nobody's there but the archetecture is like Miami's Pro Player Stadium, only more ovular, and the box exist on the long sides of the facility. Nice one!

Mon Mar 01 2004one of the worst venues in the country. the campus smells and the people are horrible. If you have a chance to to U of A go...just to see how bad it really is.

Thu Nov 20 2003great stadium, BUT no home field advantage-fans are quiet, which doesn't help
by roberth_isl
Tue Sep 30 2003As a Bama grad, I wish it was true, but the fact is that opposing teams, including some very mediocre ones, have had little difficulty winning at Bryant-Denny. Northern Illinois? Arkansas from 31-10 down in the third quarter? Auburn twice in a row? Tennessee, LSU, UCLA, etc., etc? I don't think opposing teams are intimidated one bit about playing in Bryant-Denny, no matter what the oppopsing coach says to the press.
by jagman28782
Sun Sep 14 2003Whenever you come to Bryant-Denny to play there or watch a game there, you get chills. It is the house that the Bear built. With Denny Chimes looming in the background, Bryant-Denny is one of the hardest places for a visitor to win at and easily one of the most intimidating places to play at.
