Sun Jul 27 2008a 3.5. these can be good. I agree they are best with butter or margarine on them. they do smell when you cook them. a change of pace from green beans or corn.

Tue Apr 01 2008I could certainly live without this food. I think it's more an acquired taste than anything else; one that I simply was born without.

Mon Mar 24 2008Brussel sprouts from your own garden are great. However I tend to avoid them in restaurants because commercially available sprouts tend to either be bitter or just somewhat tasteless.

Sun Mar 23 2008I like brussels sprouts especially with olive oil and parmesan cheese on them.

Sat Mar 22 2008I can't even be in the same house when they are cooking...these little guys are way too strong for me. Give me broccili or asparagus

Wed Mar 19 2008Brussel Sprouts are a in need of a deep pocketed marketing campaign to change their image (maybe the "Got Milk" people?). They're really not that bad - how they became the poster child for nasty food is a mystery.

Wed Mar 19 2008These are so good! Try them steamed with a dab of walnut oil. Or cut them in half and sautee in a little bit of olive oil. Or steam them a little so they're still a little crispy and eat them plain. Delicious!

Sun Nov 04 2007A little too bitter. Most people just boil them but they are quite versatile.

Sun Oct 28 2007Good for you...I'll stick to my viatamens.

Wed Oct 03 2007Pretty high on the yuk meter for me, mostly due to having them served with undue regularity by my cuisine challenged mother. Have discovered they make a pretty decent addition to ox-tail stew though.

Sat Oct 11 2003I love these little fart pills. They are good for you and taste great.

Wed Apr 30 2003I think it is terrible how brussel sprouts are descriminated against because of their size. No body descriminates against cabbages. Oh, no. They are bigger but everybody hates the brussel sprout. They are the same thing! The poor brussel sprout is just a little smaller. I think brussel sprouts are great and should not be descriminated against.

Tue Nov 19 2002I think brussel sprouts get a bad rap because of how they have traditionally been cooked. They can be very sweet and tasty if prepared correctly.

Sat May 11 2002The thing that really puts me off them is the smell. My mum tried getting me to eat them at Christmas, she never suceeded!

Wed Oct 17 2001I love these teeny tiny little "cabbages". They’re not bad frozen but, as you might guess, best when cooked fresh. I like them steamed, still slightly crunchy with a touch of salt and butter. Uncomplicated, tasty and healthy fare!
