Fri Nov 27 2009Okay, I'm not what you'd call "good" with hair. I'd be happy most days to leave the house with my hair looking relatively straight - and I have an album of so-so looking photos to prove it. But I have to give my stylist Kristyn at Brocatos a lot of credit. She has definitely taken my hair up a notch. She helped me find the best color to hide my grey and touch it up with gloss and conditioning treatments so that it looks awesome every day with virtually no effort on my part. Plus, she's a whole lot of fun to spend an hour or so with while the color sets. The services at Brocatos are quite affordable - I have paid a whole lot more for not as good of a haircut. The attention they give each one of their clients is superb. I am definitely a fan. If you live in Baltimore and need some hair help, check out Kristyn at Brocatos!

Fri Nov 27 2009I moved downtown from the county and asked a few of my friends if they knew of a great place for a haircut and highlights. One of my friends recommended Brocato's. I just called in and asked if any of the stylists had any openings. I was lucky and got Kristyn D. I sure did luck out! I know have my go to girl and she does such a great job! Everyone at the studio has been so nice. The studio is very hip and colorful. There is always something to look at! I also LOVE the fact that they are open 7 days a week. I don't have the luxury of having a flexible work schedule, so to have advantage of Saturdays AND Sundays is amazing! My old stylists only worked like 4 days a week and I could NEVER get an appointment. If you're looking for a new hair stylist...call and ask to have Krystin D do your hair...or any of the stylists really!

Fri Nov 13 2009It is hard to find a place where you can go and feel welcome at all times. The atmosphere is very upbeat and positive, but yet you feel relaxed and at home when you are there. Choose a style, cut, color and/or person, if necessary (but not, because they all know what they are doing), and leave feeling and looking like a million dollars! In this day and age, the economy, you want to have something to look forward too, and someone and something to make you feel your very best and BROCATOS is the place. I attribute all of the wonderful contributions to Ellen. She is obviously on top of her game, knows how to run a business, treats her employees as she would like to be treated and stays on top of the latest trends and may set some of her own, her and her staff. NO BETTER PLACE TO GET PAMPERED!

Wed Nov 11 2009It has taken me years to finally find someone I trust completely to cut & color my hair! Diana is amazing! She communicates well and I am always confident she understands what I want. I always used to be nervous how my hair would look every time I got a cut, not anymore. She offers friendly tips for helping me keep my hair healthy and helping me grow it out. I would be lost without her.

Mon Sep 07 2009If you want beautiful hair colour, you must ask for Mimi at Brocato's Studio. The atmosphere is supremely relaxing. Mimi is charming and interested; she is thorough and listens and takes into account skin tone and face shape. She is happy only if you are with your hair colour;; I must say when she did my colour, I was amazed to feel the shine, softness and the unbelievable depth of colour. Truly a great experience, and truly, Mimi is the diva of hair colour. I strongly recommend her. I never had so many compliments about my hair !

Sat Sep 05 2009I walked into Brocato's Hair Salon, after being referred there by a friend. She had told me she went there, spent several hours there, and came out looking like a movie star. I had to see for myself. I was not disappointed. The stylist who took care of me, and I mean REALLY took care of me, was Mimi. She understood exactly the look I was going for, and mixed and applied the color perfectly. For those of you who were disappointed with your service, here's a tip. If you're going to verbally thrash someone on the internet, the entity that links the world together, and potentially DESTROY someones career, you need two things. 1. Accurate information. 2. Remedial English, as yours is about as "hainous" as it gets. Great salon, and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to walk out those doors looking young and fresh.

Wed Aug 26 2009I have had my Hair Extensions done many timesand I was refered to Mimi at Brocatos Studio Of Hair Design last month. I was floored, the system and hair used was of the highest quality. Mimi was so welcoming and tended to my every need. My hair is about shoulder length. When I left my hair was looking like something out of W Magazine. I am sooooo pleased with the service and work that I would reccommend my friends. My previous extension service took 5 hours.....Mimi did it in Two and a half, and her work was immaculate. Thank you Mimi, I look and feel great:)

Tue Aug 25 2009After a tragic hair color experience at a Salon in Columbia, which left my hair broken and my scalp blister four months before my wedding, Brocato's fabulous Medical Esthetician, Evelyn referred me to Diana. When I first meet Diana she thoughtfully listened to my story and assured me that she could help me and that my hair would be beautiful for my wedding day. Diana paid exception attention to detail as she highlighted my hair. When I left that first visit my hair color was perfect. The day of my wedding the stylist who did my hair remarked that the color of my hair is what made my hair so outstandingly beautiful. The contrast of the highlights and the perfection of the job made my up-do fabulous. I had so many compliments on my hair that day. I then returned to Diana after my honeymoon to have the wedding hair cut off! I brought in pictures of what I wanted. She was the first stylist who was realistic with me and told me that unless I spend hours with my hair it wouldn't come ou... Read more

Sun Aug 23 2009Jenna at Brocato's has been highlighting and cutting my hair for almost a year. She was referred by my sister, who raved, and suggested that I make an appointment. I was looking for someone new anyway…..She listens and provides exactly what I ask for. I used to prefer saran for highlights. Jenna was the first to achieve the same "closeness" with foil. My cut is basic; however, stylists in other places have screwed it up. I am always pleased with her cut and blow-dry. She is very sweet and seems to always be in a good mood. At times, I am not one to be chatty in the chair. If I am not talking, she is not bothered. She goes about her business. This is a plus for me. My 14 year old daughter has beautiful, thick, slightly wavy hair that most girls would die for. She hates it of course. Jenna has cut it twice and she is the only stylist my daughter says makes her like her hair! Gotta love that, since it is so hard to please a 14 year old girl. We have both had great experien... Mon Jul 06 2009My experience has always been positive and I have never received so many compliments on my cut and color! I am always able to get an appointment and they will do their best to fit me in (or my son in) if they are booked. Mindi does my hair as well as my sons hair and she is wonderful - i have referred many people to her and they have all been happy. I have also enjoyed waxing and facial services there - the products they use are very gentle for someone with sensitive skin. I highly recommend them!

Mon Jun 15 2009I used to be a fan of Brocatos but lately they have gone WAY down hill. The last few times I've gone I've had horrible customer service. The last time I went in, I went in for a few face framing highlights... which turned out to be massive streaks of blonde all over my face. I had dark hair and the stylist didn't process my hair long enough. It turned an ugly orange color and looked AWFUL. The stylist knew she screwed up and told me to come back in... in a week.... HOW RUDE??? I understand these things may happen so I didn't freak out..and I had a good relationship with my stylist... but it took going back 3X IN 3 WEEKS! AND THEY CHARGED ME A FEE EVERY SINGLE TIME I WENT! Being the nice person I am, I paid them and took my business to Phillip Michael in Fed Hill. He did an amazing job and fixed it for me. This place is awful and has terrible customer service. They don't back their work... and if you are paying 300 bucks for a cut and color seriously go somewhere else....

Wed Apr 22 2009Absolutely Horrible!!! Worst haircut EVER!!! I normally go to another nearby salon, but I had heard good things about Brocato's and decided to try it for a color and trim before my vacation. My stylist was Mimi who is very sweet and friendly but is obviously a VERY inexperienced stylist. The color turned out okay except for the fact that I left the salon with brown dye all along my hairline and on my forehead and ears! The cut was supposed to be a TRIM to cut the split ends and that was all, my hair is already short and I've been trying to go it long. Well obviously Mimi does not understand the meaning of trim b/c she decided to do a complete haircut which I never discussed with her or asked for!! She cut horrible layers into my hair at eye level all around my head (it now looks like I'm growing out thick 1980's bangs) and left the longest length above my shoulders...she then "thinned" my hair so much that it now looks like I literally have thinning hair. Anyway after she fin... Read more

Sat Feb 14 2009I made an appointment at Brocato's at the last minute while visiting Baltimore from NYC and was thoroughly pleased with my experience. I saw Brittny for hi lites and a trim, and she did precise, subtle work on my color and really took into account my concerns.

Mon Dec 15 2008I've been to this salon 3-4 times and loved my stylist. However I won't be back because I was completely ripped off this last time. I scheduled a cut/blowdry and. I had also asked for my hair to be put up for an evening affair. The stylist used a few pins and gel/hairspray and this took about 15 minutes. No curling, setting, etc..The entire appt lasted just under an hour. My bill was $140- ($60 for the cut/blowout and $80 to put my hair up!.) Had i known this I would have gone elsewhere- which I now plan to do. . They should charge accordingly- this was no $80 updo, believe me.

Mon Dec 01 2008Being in the computer technology field I often find myself tired of the hectic pace that living in the fast lane/rat race delivers day in and day out. Some days I just feel worn out, fed up, exhausted and it starts to show on my face and my skin. That?s when I know I need to book a facial with Evelyn Frank at Brocatos Studio of Hair Design in Baltimore. Evelyn gives me a break from the real world-her facials are amazing. Evelyn is impeccably groomed, warm and friendly. She is a stickler for cleanliness and sanitation. She keeps a clean table and washes her hands before she begins touching your face. Evelyn's aesthetician area in the salon is a very comfortable, soothing, calm and relaxing space. I always ask Evelyn for her advice and do not pick which facial I will have, she?s a professional and one look at my skin she knows exactly what it needs. Normally she cleans any makeup off (If I wear any to the treatment) follows it with steam, exfoliation, extraction, a few creams, a ... Read more

Wed Apr 23 2008I just had a haircut with Jenna at Brocato's salon (my first visit) and I couldn't be more pleased! Jenna was an absolute delight and I am not exaggerating when I say that she has given me by far the best hair cut I've ever had (and I'm going on 32yo so I've had a lot of haircuts lol). I highly recommend her and I will most certainly be returning. Thank you Jenna!

Mon Mar 03 2008Evelyn does an exceptional job! She is professional and personable, with a calm and easygoing style that is instantly relaxing and reassuring. I've had the most pleasant waxing experience ever at Brocato's and highly recommend Evelyn.

Sun Feb 03 2008Although Brocatos Studio of Hair has talented hair stylists as the name suggests, their best-kept secret is the on staff Master Aesthetician, Evelyn. I?ve never experienced a more pleasurable and relaxing facial?and with radiant results! She also offered me amazing advice for how to care for my skin daily. She explained why my skin acts the way it does (I would get annoying bumps on my forehead--since college), and she told me on how to get rid of them--(They are gone now!). Unfortunately, I reside out of state right now, but my parents are still in MD, so whenever I am in MD, I set up an appointment! I really haven?t found another aesthetician with a knack for skincare like Evelyn at Brocatos! I highly recommend her for the novice and seasoned individual looking to improve their skin.

Wed Jan 16 2008Moved to Baltimore almost 3 years ago and was still in search for good salon -- read the reviews and decided to take a chance with Brocato's. The salon was wonderful and I am MORE than satisifed with my haircut! Gina is great and I will definitely be back! I will not go anywhere else!

Wed Dec 19 2007Having moved to Baltimore just over a year ago I had the hardest time trying to find someone that could give me a proper haircut and color. Well, I happened to be shopping at Safeway and I just happened to see this place - and now, as long I'm living nearby - this is my place! Everyone there is helpful and nice. They even gave me some wine while I was waiting for my color to set. After a long day of work I couldn't have been more pleased. The prices are to be expected, not cheap but not too expensive. Either way, you really get what you pay for here.

Wed Aug 29 2007Brocato's people are friendly, helpful, attentive & give good cuts. Prices are reasonable. The place is run efficiently, and it is easy to get an appointment at short notice. No pressure to buy product. Kind of cool interior decor that avoids rain forest kitsch (but just)

Tue Aug 29 2006My stylist has got to be one of the best hair magicians in the entire planet, this aside from the fact that Kenny has been voted Baltimore's best Hair Colorist a few years back. I have followed Kenny since 1991 to get the perfect hairstyle as well as star treatment every time I go. Bravo to Brocatos for adding this fine addition to their staff, now all they need to do is add him to their web-page as a Master Cosmetologist.

Tue Aug 29 2006i was just in town for the weekend, a wedding for a college pal, and had no plans for changing my hairstyle, but like always, i ran out of time to get my hair my hair done. i didn't want to attend looking like a mess. while exploring canton, I stopped in at starbucks to get a little jolt of caffeine. while waiting in line, my little eye spied a barber pole. i decided to walk over and check things out. when i walked in i was struck by the interesting design, i thought to myself that this is no ordinary shop. i asked the receptionist if they had time to fit me in , she clicked away at her computer and said that they had time and then asked me if i wanted a glass of water, cup of coffee, or even a glass of wine, while i waited. while sitting, i did notice a little sign that said if you were 5 minutes or more late that you would need to reschedule.........it sounded like they meant business, but they knew what they were doing. the stylist came out, and introduced himself and took me... Sat Jul 15 2006Based on previous reviews, I made an appointment for a haircut. I was VERY disappointed. The stylist was decently courteous, however, the staff seemed very distant and not friendly. They weren't even friendly towards each other---rather cold towards one another. The cut was a disaster and I don't understand how it could be worth $60. I don't think the stylist knew what he was doing. The left and right sides are not even the same length!!! Isn't that a haircutting basic?? The conversation was nice, but I don't pay for conversation. I usually get haircuts in larger cities and have always received professional service as well as worked with stylists who are skilled---also ones who listen to their clients regarding what they want done. I will never go back.

Fri Jan 20 2006I received a full highlight and haircut at Brocatos last week and have never been more pleased. The staff was friendly, decor was top notch and I had a glass of wine to calm down from my busy week. It was the only hair salon that I have ever been to that made my visit completely about ME! If you are a professional like myself you must visit this salon!

Mon Jan 02 2006I guarentee you've never seen anything like it. Definately not just for chicks, although mucho hotties were there when I was..Staff cute too! Amazing how they walk in, even better when they leave. It's like one of those reality shows. Cool place, great old building, (some kind of can factory) friendly staff (not phony) and customers. In safe artsy area Canton. Very talented crew working. You know when you change hair places and walk in for the first time, its like this dread...not here! Walked in, was greated..no show and dance put on, felt at home. Everyone was nice to this nerd! I never looked so great. Worth every penny. I'll be back
