I flew only twice but I will not choose them again. Once upon a time BA was a great airline but nowadays it is not. They do not even hit the standard of an average short distance European airline. Their service is close to the low-cost airlines but the tickets are expensive.

Ticketing Change Disaster! I booked a Chicago-Anchorage flight (operated by AA) using BA rewards. When AA cancelled its original flight, BA representative agreed to change my tickets to a different date. With that, I changed my wife's ticket (booked and changed through AA) as well. However, a week later, when I tried to confirm my seats, I was told that the rebooked ticket was an error and BA could not honor that. This incident caused a disastrous effect on our trip planning. Now my wife's and my tickets were booked on two different dates. I had to rebook all my trips, hotels, and car rentals. BA could have just honored the new tickets (like AA had done with my wife's ticket) to keep a long-term and loyal customer. I will not fly BA any more in the future. I will not recommend it to anyone!

First our connecting flight was cancelled when arriving at london, then no information was dealt out in the airport where the luggage was etc. Then after calling their support we were instructed to book a new ticket with a different carrier, which they would pay for. (They wouldnt fly any planes with BA for over a week) This ticket was very expensive and ofcourse wasn't paid for, I will never again fly with British Airways knowing that they do not have the proper routines when something goes wrong.

I found it a really stuffy airline, staff didn't really care about the passengers. CheckIn was very slow, unfriendly staff. Didn't feel welcome onboard. Asked for a glass of water in mid flight, it wasn't busy and it took 30 minutes and i had to keep on asking for it.

I loved my British Air flights to Schipol in Amsterdam. I was lying out of Gatwick and while the flight was delayed because they had no drinks other than coffee and water the crew was humorous about it. We didn't get drinks on the flight since it was only a 40 minute flight, but BA did give us a food voucher, which I took for the memories. I would fly BA again as I had no problems with them.

Anyone who has got use to flying american carriers.and then get the chance to fly British airways or even lufthansa, and air france..there is no comparison.the most recent trip from JFK to cameroon except for the unfortunate stop at heathrow went great. I flew ecomony as was given free champaine, brandy after dinner which was great btw. The flight attendants were friendly and even sat and talked a bit to our group.Overall a great airline.

Good seats (very good ones if you sit in Business class); decent food, even on short flights.  Free booze.

One has to be seriously delusional to give BA five stars. I've had to use them quite a lot for work, and we've now managed to stop. My one star rating doesn't mean you can't get a flight that will go well, it just reflects the overall appalling performance, service, level of comfort and customer service of this airline. I have no idea why anyone would like to fly BA internationally when one can use the likes of Virgin or Air New Zealand. As far as flying to Europe goes, BMI is a much better airline, and so is Easyjet. I haven't experience the fiasco of Terminal 5 first hand, thank God. But it doesn't surprise me, and reflects what BA is about.

Generally receive excellent service when flying with BA. Recent problems when both our bags were lost, and the problem was magnified by poor service from ground staff in US. But UK Customer services eventually located and returned both bags, apologised, reimbursed us for costs and awarded generous compensation. Still one of the best.

British Air lost my bag two weeks ago and personnel in Bangalore, Heathrow, and Florida have uniformly been callous and said "not my problem". Don't fly BA!

Due to "technical difficulties", I had to endure an 11 hour flight without any entertainment. If the in-flight entertainment doesn't work, one can only wonder what else is wrong with the plane.

British Airways is the worst airline! The customer service is horrendous and the chance of your luggage actually making it to and from your destinations is slim at best. I travelled in a party of 6 with people starting from different locations and ultimately leaving at different times at the end of our vacation together to different locations. Regardless, luggage was lost on all occasions.

worst airline i have had the misfortune to fly with, i am not surprised that they are losing their customers to other airlines - my flight from the states to the uk was cancalled and they could not get me on anything till the next day and refused to upgarde me and then ended up giving me a 50 travel voucher which considering how much i payed for the ticket just took the piss!

I flew British Airways last week. They forced me to check in all my hand luggage and it went missing. I filled in a form on arrival but I have had no news since. There is no replies to my faxes, emails and nobody answers my calls. BA staff could not care less. I am missing essential items, some of which can not be replaced even with money. I have had to spend in excess of $1,000 so far to replace clothes, toiletries, glasses, medicines, electronic equipments including phone charger... I strongly advise against flying on BA until further notice if you do not want to lose your luggage.

BA is my favorite airline--I won't fly anything but to London. The 777 Jet is fantastic--nicely updated and modern, lots of leg room. The fligh crew give excellent service and the meals are very good I can only imagine what First Class & Business meals are like. BA truly is the best airline.

This airline has to be the worst. I have flown several times. never on time. Last time my first flight was about 2.5 hours late so I missed my second flight. They put me up in pretty good hotel, but the hotel food sucked and food service sucked too. I suppose that's not the airlines fault. In the morning I did not appreciate standng in line for check in again, going through all the security again and customs again......... Rebooked they had put my luggage on hold for the my flight in the morning. Meantime someone broke open the locks and stole several items including a much needed medical device that was obviously a medical device...BA will not reimburse for these items and my home owners has $1000 deductable so it's out of my pocket. Meanwhile after many assurances that BA would contact the transportation company that was to pick me up at my distination it turned out BA did not call. I happen to know the transportation companies dispatcher very well and BA did not call. After pa... Read more

Terrific airline. Possibly the best of the big western airlines. There are some smaller ones that may be better, but for something the shear size of BA it is hard to beat in the West. It's BA all the way!!!

I found the experience a blessing. I booked my flight with a window and an aisle and when I checked in they didn't have any window/aisles left. I complained a bit but not that much. What I liked most is for their mistake they upgraded me a tad the attendant said. Little did I know that she upgraded me to Business class. YIPPEEE! Great flight to Britain and very comfortable. I would definately fly with them again.

Flown BA many times. Never had a bad time. Their employees have always accomodated me when I missed a flight, or when I missed a connection due to a delay. I can say nothing bad about them...they are always professional and attentive.

I honestly don't know anyone who would want to fly this airline if they had a choice except for some patriotic Brit. I've flown on British Airways twice not out of choice and that was enough for me. The seats are cramped, the food is horrid, their selection of confectionary is limited not to mention small portions of everything. I think the nicest thing about BA is their logo and that laughable horrendous individual pieces of art on every aeroplane fin.

My camera got stolen out of my bag, and they took no responsibility, even though the gatwick police sized crates upon crates of stolen good from their baggage handlers. I was unfortunate, my camera was expensive, and they sold it off before the police got them. Additionaly the people i dealt with were rude, the food was aweful and there was not enough room on the plane for an average size adult. I will never fly british airways again.

ICK! Had the misfortune of flying on BA recently on a business trip. Admittedly, I was looking forward to trying out their new first class seats, but what a let down. They were so uncomfortable that I almost volunteered to go back to ecomony class to spread out back there. The meals were cold when they were edible, and the crew was the surliest I have ever encountered. Next time I will insist on Continental.

We flew last Christmas on BA and while it was very cheap compared to Virgin, the service was horrible. We were delayed for literally hours without them saying anything. We were on the ground about 4 hours when they told us to get off the plane, find another gate and never gave any reason why. They lost my vegetarian meal request and insisted that I never asked for it (which I did). The bloke in front gave me his vegetarian meal to me because he felt bad (he said the only reason he asked for it was he didn't dare try BA meat). After that I have two words- Never Again.

We fly to London often. On the first (and only) time we took BA we sat in the cattle section in the very last seats. Because of the location, the seats did not go back but remained upright. Very tight and uncomfortable especially when the people in front of us reclined. BUT THE WORST WAS... there is a gutter located above the windows to collect the condensation from inside the plane. When the plane took off, all of that collected water ran down the gutter and splashed on my husbands head. GROSS! Never fly it again the competition is much better!

I find the customer service terrible. Why do I always get the impression that they could care less if I fly with them our not? Even the most simple request like a seat change is such an ordeal. Several times when I hinted that I was "shopping" around and might change my airline if they couldn't assist me with a genuine concern, I could almost sense the shoulders shrugging on the other end of the phone. I fly coach. I've noticed their ads never are directed at me, just the few lucky ones that can afford upper class. They should be watching and learning from the competition.

BA - what can I say - flew into Boston Jan 95 - asked at tickey counter at London what the weather was like in Boston - told " a light sprinkle of snow" - landed in a blizzard that had closed airports up the East Coast , Boston was last one open. never flew BA again. Their service is at best average, staff sadly uninformed!!

I don't know why, but I always get the impression that British Airways could care less if I'm a customer or not. I know it's not just "British" reserve because I'm british myself. Their competition is light years ahead of them. They should be following their lead, not trying to make things difficult for them. And those ads? That's First Class I'm afraid, why don't you show what it's like for the cattle in the back. I actually rarely used them in the last few years. Now because of the way the handled a recent routine inquiry of mine. I am boycotting them, maybe forever.

I think they are resting on their laurels. The customer service is terrible, especially on the ground and on the phone. The seating, food and on board entertainment are inadequate. If ever I was tempted to use them to fly to London, rarely-they can't compete with Virgin or United, I just have to think about what it's going to be like leaving Heathrow. The lineups!. Nothing to do with 9/11 either. It's always been like that. BA it's your hub city. Get adequate staffing. I fly to London every few months but I would rather stay home than fly on this airline.

BA Miles Household account is the biggest pain out. I thought it would be a good idea to merge my BA miles with my husbands so we signed up for the Household account. All was fine until I went to book tickets and then found out we can only get tickets for myself and my husband as the 2 members of the account. I didn't add the kids as they don't hold BA executive cards and there didn't seem any point in them having one either. But apparently I now can't book tickets for them. It supposedly says all this in the Rules and Regulations but those are as clear as mud. Even after having read them about 6 times it wasn't any better. As this clearly isn't going to get me any tickets booked - I phoned to either get the kids added or to get rid of the Household account to be told we couldn't do it for 6 months as: "16.1.7 Once a Household Account is established, new member(s) may not be added or existing member(s) removed more than once every six months. A Household Account may not be dissol... Read more

My first flight was last year, from Glasgow to London on a small BA plane. The seats were comfortable but there was little legroom. The staff seemed helpful and friendly, though, and the food that was served was surprisingly nice! I don't know what the larger planes are like for international flights, but I was satisfied with my experience.

Save your money. British Airways business class flat beds are LESS comfortable than economy; don't dare eat any breakfast on their flights, the eggs and bacon were unedible. The check in staff are horriffic. Chances are you won't get your luggage delivered and the London airports are a joke and very smokey and crowded. Their flights are always crowded and it's a very uncomfortable experience. Chances are they will be in bankruptcy soon and it's not uncommon for them to simply cancel flights for no apparent reason, and they will offer no compensation to anyone.... ever. I wish there was a "ZERO" rating on this, as that would be more fitting than simply a "ONE--TERRIBLE" rating... save your money. Also, if you claim an award with their frequent flyer program, better plan a year in advance if you think you will get seats.
