Brian Billick (Baltimore Ravens)

Can't take away his Super Bowl- but anyone else think Billick had some ideas lacking concerning the offense and/or QB?

This year marked the end for Billick in Baltimore. He got fired from the Ravens. His earlier days in Baltimore were good ones. He should bounce back as Head Coach elsewhere.

Not many current coaches can claim to be Super Bowl winners, and Brian Billick is one of them. I have been skeptical of Billick, the "Offensive Guru," because his teams have always won with defense and not offense. Meanwhile, his defensive assistants Marvin Lewis and Jack Del Rio are proving to be very capable Head Coaches on their own. I also think the great personnel moves the team has made are the responsibility of GM Ozzie Newsome. Despite all of these potential knocks against him, Billick still has a good record as a head coach, and is one of the longest tenured in the league.

Easily the worst coach I have ever seen!! His main contribution was supposed to be an offensive mind, and Raven's offense has stunk every year he has been there, it is terrible. He has no defense experience, all of that success was due to Marvin Lewis, Jack Del Rio and Mike Nolan. Billick is a terrible coach and makes horrible personnel decisions (ie: Grback over Dilfer after Dilfer wins the Super Bowl). How Billick has a job still is beyone my understanding.

He's supposed to be a great offensive genius. He has yet to develop a consistent offense, as Kyle Boller continues to complete less passes than most backups are capable of and Jamal Lewis has a fumble for about every 100 yards he runs. Also, it's very possible that his dominant defense was mostly the work of the new 49ers coach, Mike Nolan.

I'd rate him higher if he didn't whine and cry like a little girl about instant replay.

Whatever you think of him, he his one of the top 5-7 coaches in the league.

How can you not give Brian Billick a high rating as a coach. Besides having taken a team whch had never had a winning season to a convincing Super Bowl victory in his second season, he took his 2002 team, a team which had 19 rookies and free agents, and kept them in the playoff race until the 15th week. A team which many of the "experts" said would finish lower than the Benagals in their division. He is, without a doubt, one of the finest coaches in the league today. In my opinion, he organizes and motivates as good or better than any coach in the game.

Brian Billick took a team that never had a winning record to a Super Bowl victory in his second season. They gutted the team and he had them in the playoff hunt until the last week of the season. Regardless of what the media thinks about him, you have to give him his due. He motivated 19 first year starters to contend without Ray Lewis, Mike McCrary and a QB named Blake.

Love him or hate him you have to appreciate his drive and determination. Doesn't let the biased media or his detractors detour him from his game plan. I sometimes disagree with his decisions but, Brian Billick is what a coach should be! A meantor and most of all a driven leader. Excellent computer skills and treating his flock of Ravens with respect when they deserve it and gives them hell when they need it. His record as the Baltimore Raven's coach stands for itself. As of January 15, 2002 after handily defeating the Dolphins in round one of this season's playoffs, his record is 35 victorys and only 18 losses. Virtually a 2 to 1 winning ratio. May we be blessed with many more winning years with Brian Billick guiding our Ravens to greatness!
