Wed Jan 10 2007This was a decent show that never really found an audience. It had a solid cast and good storylines, it should have done better in the ratings.

Mon Jun 06 2005It was confusing to watch but it was great fun and interesting.

Mon Sep 13 2004I really liked this show, I liked the different approach it had in telling the story, too bad the execs were more worried about the bottom line rather than making interesting TV---I know, lets have another stupid reality program instead of a riveting, well acted drama!

Mon Aug 16 2004Just finished watching the DVD release. I can't believe there isn't more. Creative, innovative, compelling, characters you want to have dinner with, how could this have been cancelled?

Fri Aug 06 2004Miss this show terribly. Interesting format and great stories. I became a big fan of Donnie Waldberg.

Sun Dec 28 2003One of the best shows on television. I miss watching it. I feel that another channel should pick it up.

Fri Nov 14 2003I don't really use the word BRILLIANT for any show but for this I have to. This is clearly the best show I have seen in years. Too bad NBC has cancelled this brilliant show, screw nbc I hope another network picks this show up.

Wed Nov 12 2003How can you get rid of a show that was #1 last year. There were like 5 shows on and it was cancelled! The show had bad rating because it was on a Friday night! I guarentee if you play it on Sunday nights again, the ratings will be back to normal!!

Wed Oct 29 2003I looked foraward all summer long to the return of BOOMTOWN. Needless to write, I am very disappointed in the powers-that-be at NBC programming. BOOMTOWN was so clever and innovative and I think each one of the actors gave so much to the show. Why cancel a great show, especially after it had won awards? Go figure. There are enough Law and Order spinoffs and enough CSI copycats, BOOMTOWN was unique and I, for one, miss it.

Fri Oct 10 2003It's a shame that a show with so much promise can be so boring that a viewer can't sit through one hour without switching the channel. Sorry folks, rename this one Bust Town. Update: NBC canceled it, so I guess a few other viewers felt the same way that I did. Sorry, Donnie :-(

Wed May 21 2003This is one cop show that won't keep you bored. With it's brillant cast of characters, the show keeps you interested up to the end. The show also does a great job with it's time frames, past and present...and it is able to show the events through each of the characters eyes. This gives the show its speciality. The things it deals with are able to keep you on the edge of your seat, from kidnapping to murder to rats in the LAPD's own office. I have noticed also that Boomtown is one show that is good at picking out extras to star. If anyone likes the cast Band of Brothers, then you'll love Boomtown. Neal McDonough and Donnie Walhberg already star, and they have had Rick Gomez and Frank John Hughes star in a few episodes also. I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch a good drama.

Wed May 14 2003Unlike the previous commentor, I DO remember shows like Matlock and Murder, She Wrote. I remember thinking how pathetically predictable and trite they were. Silly situations that were easily resolved within the hour and promptly forgotten. How exciting. Boomtown, on the otherhand is a great, meaty slab of crime fiction. Like the best specimens of this genre, the stories are complex and get under your skin. It's shows like this that got me into the genre in the first place. It's too good for the idiots at the network and the best cop show since "Homicide". Furthermore Boomtown is NOTHING like CSI and the many, many Law and order shows. Those shows are empty excercises in plot mechanics. The characters are a far second to whatever gimmick the writerscooked up that week. That's why those can have revolving casts. You don't really care about the characters anyway. They are automatons. Boomtown's characters are fully fleshed, with complex lives that are real without wallowing in soap op... Read more

Wed May 14 2003one of the most innovative new shows on television, nbc should be ashamed for treating it so badly

Tue Mar 04 2003Well-acted, innovative, and completely addictive. Simply one of the best series ever created for television.

Mon Mar 03 2003I liked the first set of episodes, but this next set sucks. It had very violent beginning that didnt need to be there for the plot. It had no character depth, nor plot meaning in anyway, but did sex up the female character. I dont know why they made such a dramatic change, but I will not longer watch it.

Tue Feb 11 2003Overall, I really good show. The only fault I find is that it's often confusing when they skip around to the different character's perspectives. Sometimes the show ends and I'm staring dumbly at the credits going, "Huh? So who killed the guy?" But it's got some lovable characters and good plots.

Mon Jan 20 2003I love this kind of tv.

Fri Jan 17 2003Pale imitation of Law & Order offers no surprises, and uninteresting subjects. Good ensemble cast cannot even make the show one bit worthy of being likable.

Mon Jan 06 2003Innovative, original, compelling..words that arent often associated with network television nowadays. Great writing, great cast (who knew Donnie Wahlberg could act?!)

Sun Jan 05 2003Some episodes are really good, others are so boring I change the channel after 5 minutes. This show has the potential to be a really great series. I like the way the story unfolds from many different points of view.

Wed Dec 18 2002Remember the good mystery shows like "Matlock", "Murder, She Wrote", and "Columbo". Well, I don't exactly (I've only seen repeats) but they are much better than this boring widescreen show. Even worse, there is strong language, graphic violence and sexual inneudo present that is all not needed. Trying to be like CSI, is what it looks like.

Fri Oct 25 2002Pretty good. Donnie Whalberg has surprised me alot with acting. I wasn't too sure about him..but he's a VERY GOOD actor. The show has potential. Some episodes have been a little boring...but for the most part...I'm hooked.

Mon Sep 30 2002Has potential, but so far looks like another Law and Order rip off.
