    Simply horrible!!! I believe this store has not progressed a bit since they opened in 1898. Where do I begin? To start with, my dress was shipped on a hanger in a flimsy package and yes, the hanger was broken in transit. I did not like the dress and had to return it. I waited almost a week after they received the package back (tracked through the UPS online tracking) for any refund information. I had not received an e-mail confirming the refund which I consider a norm in the modern age online shopping. I checked my order online; no refund information, whatsoever. I then called the customer service. Let alone that I waited more than 20 minutes to get through a customer service representative, the help was non-existent. Turns out, the refund information is not visible online. They do not send e-mail refund confirmations, either.     I placed the order via Carson's.com and nothing was telling me that this is "Bon-Ton". I ordered several items and they ship them 1, 2 at the time. I ordered some of the Clarins items and there should be 2 gift items included. 5 days after I placed my order, they send me an e-mail that they can't ship my promotional items giving an excuse of "while supplies rest". I sent an e-mail, the response was very poor and they told me to call Customer Service. I called the customer service but they did not give me any good answer, they will send me the UPS label so I can return the product. There is no Carson's store in my area. I won't be shopping with them.

    Terrible customer service. Received damaged item due to poor packaging. They basically took the cheap, flimsy retail packaging the lamp came in and slapped a UPS label on it. So obviously the item arrived damaged. Returned item. Still have yet to received a credit. When you call their customer svc they are not helpful. I even posted a partial negative review of the item on their website and they deleted it so their true reputation would not show up. First time customer and last time customer for them or any of their sister companies.

    Dont mess up you order. Ive called them weekly for over a month about a refund they owe me and they keep saying "ok I see it in the system and Im going to fill out a form to speed up your refund". I call weekly Still nothing, Point is i like some of their stuff, but will not buy anything else until they pay me what they owe me. If you buy something dont mess up your order

    Don't make a mistake order! it is a pain in the butt to cancel! Here's what i posted on their facebook page in the hopes that theyll notice, because the CSR was being completely inept and unhelpful. "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. i created a mistake order (#12559054) at 12:35am PST and sent a cancellation email 2 minutes after i order. 12 hours later, I call customer service and they tell me that for the item to be cancelled, i need to contact them via email or phone within 30-45 minutes of the order or it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel my order! BUT I EMAILED THEM TWO MINS AFTER ORDERING! What's more, the automatic message tells me that business hours is 6am - 12 CST, which means they wouldve been closed if i had called at midnight ANYWAYS! Now they're telling me my options are 1. refuse the shipment when it gets to my house, 2. CALL BACK to tell Bonton the UPS tracking info so that they can re-route the package or 3. receive the package, wait for a prepaid envelope and ship it back. Why are ... Read more

    I should have checked this website before ordering :( Shipped wrong model of jeans, numerous e-mails from me, very few general from them, waited for UPS pick-up - never happened, finally talked to somebody I could barely understand - hooray! got rid of the package after 8 days of horrible communication. Guess what? They have a package on January 13th, no word whatsoever, no refund, again, numerous e-mails, and after a month I got my money ( minus original shipping which was promised to be refunded - didn't have any nerves left to call them again).

    I'm writing this review because when I looked for reviews of this online store, I couldn't find more than 10, and most were negative - I can only guess that the satisfied customers haven't bothered to find a place to review the store. My experience with this company went smoothly - I ordered two pairs of boots, that I'd been looking for with no luck for a while. They arrived, in good condition, within the expected delivery date range. One of them didn't fit, but since I was going to be near a physical BonTon store, I brought them in and was refunded quickly, with no problems. Overall, my experience went exactly as expected when ordering from an online store. Granted, I didn't have any customer service issues, so I don't know how well they handle complications, but I can definitely vouch for the fact that some orders go perfectly smoothly!

    I wish I had read these reviews prior to ordering. I ordered some Christmas presents from here that I paid extra fro shipping by today....only part of my ordered showed up and an item that was supposed to be with this shipment (since for some reason all 6 things I ordered were shipped seperatly) was not in this shipment and on the tracking it says it was shipped. Then the other 2 things have not even left he warehouse yet (still supposed to be guarenteed today) I am really very annoyed and of course the customer service people give you the run around and have no idea whats going on at all. UGH!! Thanks for ruining my Christmas Bon-Ton. NEVER EVERRRRRRRRRRRR AGAIN!

    Terrible phone support, promised MULTI times for return UPS label which NEVER arrived. Supervisor NEVER available. Will NEVER shop here again. Buyer BEWARE.

    Horrible, awlful, terrible! Our order was shipped in the original box, not even put inside another box for shipping. How ridiculous! Since it was a round stainless steel kitchen garbage can it was beat to pieces in shipping. Looks like someone took a hammer to it. Lunacy! We've called repeatedly and talk to someone in India who does NOT speak english. The bottom line from them: to bad, so sad. They will not do anything about it. Also the other part of our order did not arrive. Same story from them. Never again. This place is a HUGE RIPOFF. Don't waste your time, money or effort. In fact I give them a minus star rating if possible.

    Horrible place to shop online. I've been searching high and low for these pair of shoes and finally found it here. I was so excited and elated to have finally found them! I typically don't like shopping online due to security issues but I had found my dream shoes! So, I placed my order and waited anxiously for my shoes to arrive. Two days later I get an email telling me they cannot fulfill my order. No explanation of why, what happened, or anything. They told me that they would cancel the order. Hmmm, we'll see about that. I checked online and guess what, those shoes are still on their website! I can't believe that a large department store like this has such poor business practice! I will neve shop here again!

    I would give it 0 stars if I could! My order for 2 Bebop dresses placed 4/30/2010. NEVER received order confirmation, called back twice--and waited 20 minutes each time, was told that I should not worry. One and a half months later--6/9/2010, I still have NOT RECEIVED MY ITEMS! I called back, was put on hold twice, waited 20 minutes each time, and was hung up. On my 3rd try, the customer service lady informed me that the items were being shipped (not that they already had). At this point I let her know that waiting a month and a half for 2 dresses to be shipped was RIDICULOUS and I wanted to cancel my order. She wouldn't let me do that since it was BEING shipped. I told her I would refuse the shipment and she said that's fine, but I would have to wait "weeks" for a refund. She suggested that I return it at a store, but the closest one is 2 hrs away. I am NOT driving that far to return 2 dresses! I am reporting BONTON to the BBB. Please do NOT consider purchasing from them.

    I visited the website and found some shoes that were incredibly cheaper than any other site. I added them to the cart, I proceeded to fill out my billing information, which was the same as my shipping information. When I went to click submit, I was given an error message that stated I needed to "edit the billing address" ... I looked back at my information, which was totally correct and my daughter said something doesn't feel right, don't do it ... so we cleared the order and never tried to process it again. Later that night, I looked at my credit card online and noticed a pending charge on my card for the exact amount of the transaction that did not go through. When I called the company they told me the minute you hit the "submit" button a temporary hold is put on your card. Regardless of if it goes through or not ...     I completely agree that they deserve ZERO stars but I have to give them at least one to write this review. I placed an order that got shipped with in a few days. About a week later I still had not received the order so I checked the tracking number and it said that it was delivered at my front door; however, it wasn't. I called them and explained the situation and they said they needed to do an investigation and they would contact me back within 72 hrs after the investigation was complete. A week later, I still hadn't heard anything so I called them back. I explained the situation again and I was told I would be contacted back within 24hrs. Four days later, I still hadn't heard anything. On about the third call I made I was told that a new order was put in and I would get a tracking number for the new shipment in a few days.     I agree with the other 2 reviews here.Terrible terrible website for ordering.I ordered a TV stand which shows online as available.I ordered the first time and after 2 day got an email saying the item is not available.It still showed available on their website so called them up.Got to talk to someone after a 45 minute wait !!!.The guy said it was a mistake and if i order it again i will get it this time so i ordered once again.2 days after the second order again the same email item is not available so they cancelled the order and sent a cancellation mail.Guess what the item is still showing in stock on their online website.This is the worst company i have ever dealt with.Do not do business with liars.... If you want you can do this but at your own peril.You are hereby warned.

    Terrible customer service. It took five business days after the order was placed for the item to be shipped. Tried to call their customer service number 5 times and waited 45 minutes each time. Sent an email twice and never received a response. Finally, I was able to get a UPS tracking number and it turns out the item will be delivered late. They guarantee the item will be delivered within 7-10 days on their website, but my order took at least 15 days. They recommended I call UPS, but once the item is shipped the shipping date cannot change. Because it will be delivered late, I have no use for the item and will still have to PAY for the return shipping! Whatever you do, DO NOT order anything from this company. You will lose time, money, and your own piece of mind.

    This store has improved dramatically since it bought Carson's and the other stores from Saks a couple years ago! They did a great job of taking what made Carsons, Boston Store, etc. great and using it to improve their own stores.  They tend to have smaller stores, so the selection isn't as broad, but the service people are great and everything I've bought there is high quality and a good price.
