Tue Aug 23 2011Another example of the political bankruptcy of the South that I just noted with my review of Sonny Purdue. The South no longer seems to be a credible source of future national leaders.

Mon Mar 07 2011He is American-born, but of India descent. He was Hindu, but converted to Catholicism. That might become an issue with people. I have not heard him speak nor heard his views. As of 2011, he has said he will not run for President, but would accept a Vice-Presidential bid.

Wed Jan 05 2011Bobby Jindal is not ready. Perhaps in 2016 or 2020! I like the guy, but he shot himself in the foot too many times. Too prone to blunders. Not as bad as Sarah Palin, but he's not ideal.

Fri Nov 19 2010No political base to draw from......he could never mount a viable campaign for President.

Sun Oct 24 2010Not too sure here but like his stand against the handouts by Obama. I also give him high regard for dedicating his time to helping he Gulf community and his refusal to simply sit in his office. I do not believe he will run, because I think he really wants to finish helping his state to recover. It would e useful for him to actually be able to be a governor and not a cleanup crewman for Obama's lack of care. Good luck to this guy and I will keep tracking his actions. Maybe a good guy for 2016.

Thu Sep 09 2010The neo-cons have done enough damage. It would be better if they just stayed home.

Sat Sep 04 2010Nice guy and he is handling the oil spill well, but the country needs a more conservative leader
by x_factor_z
Wed May 19 2010He's too damn young! He needs to serve 12 years or so as governor or maybe a senator to gain some experiance. I hope the Republicans aren't that desperate to choose him now.

Thu Mar 25 2010This guy totally creeps me out and is as crooked as the day is long! On June 27, 2008, Louisiana's Secretary of State filed a recall petition against Governor Jindal in response to Jindal's refusal to veto a bill that would more than double the current state legislative pay. However, during his campaign for Governor, Jindal had promised to stop legislative pay raises from taking effect during the current term. On another note, this dude needs to come out of the closet and join the log cabin republicans for sure!

Thu Feb 11 2010Bobby carries alot of the values that made Reagan great, most importantly, limited government!

Thu Jan 07 2010I think Bobby Jindal is a perfect candidate to take on Obama in 2012. He is young, enthusiastic, very personable and a wonderful governor. He has a wonderful track record of running Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and has made wonderful progress in the state overall, plus, he is budget minded. (Obama and his 15+ Trillion national debt could learn from Bobby Jindal). Bobby Jindal is a man of action and Obama is a man of fancy words and little substance. Overall, Bobby Jindal is a politician people like and trust; this could be the new face of the Republican Party.

Thu Nov 05 2009I like some of what I have heard about him, but he was lackluster in responding to a speech by Obama earlier this year.

Tue Nov 03 2009Jindal should read a couple of Ron Paul's books, and ditch the neocon establishment. Could be a great VP running mate.
by andrewl85
Mon Nov 02 2009He's a neoconservative just like Bush was. He has supported both wars, the PATRIOT act, and he spends tax payer money on helicopters. Bobby Jindal is not a fiscal conservative or a Constitutional conservative.

Sun Oct 25 2009More concerned with the GOP agenda than with America's current problems. He is a slightly above average politician, but still to cozy with big government to ever get my vote.
by sherii
Thu Sep 24 2009He wants to stay in Louisiana and take care of his home state. He announced that he doesn't want to run for pres so he probably would be better off to wait until 2016 to run.

Tue Sep 08 2009I like Jindal alot! Very bright, educated by the best, and he's a great speaker in front of crowds. However, I would be affraid of him getting the nomination in 2012. I personally hope he gets the VP spot and teams up with a guy like Romney. A Romney Jindal ticket would cover both north and south, young and old. I like Jindal however if he lost as the party's nominee he would be done on the national stage, however even if he lost as the VP candidate he could still come back. With the exception of George W. Bush The Republican party has recently nomniated only candidates who have run and lost before in the primaries such as McCain, Bush 41, Dole and Reagan. Jindal should be no exception.
by psimon7
Fri Sep 04 2009He wouldn't be able to win the primaries. The base would never vote for him, especially in the south and midwest.

Fri Aug 07 2009I have heard him speak, he's a great public speaker! Very smart! However, I don't know if he'll get the support???
by yoplezy
Fri Aug 07 2009He is not a legitimate candidate.

Sun Jul 19 2009HAHA! Are you kidding me.

Fri Jun 26 2009Bobby Jendal will be my candidate for 2012! He's one of my favorite Republicans, for varios reasons.
by bschh5ff
Sun Jun 14 2009I think Bobby J. would really connect us to the world. Obama Girl would pounce.
by quarterhorse51
Tue Jun 09 2009A true success story. Although I do think some other Republicans would likely win the nomination ahead of him
by indepamerican
Mon Jun 08 2009No way. He is a worse speaker than Palin!!!
by mrisla
Thu Jun 04 2009I use to really like Mr. Jindal. But his speech in responce to the state of the union was really goofy, typical, and very lame. He would get nailed for silly things such as katrina, the economy, the deficit, lousiana, etc. And his accent would be the punchline for saturday night live. He is a really brilliant man, he is a rhoades scholar, he would be ok. But quite frankley i dont honesly see him as the leader of our nation and someone who could seriously bring change. I am honestly really afriad because i dont see any valid canidates for our party. it will be very intresting to see what happens.

Wed May 20 2009BEING JINDALS NEIGHBOR IN SOUTH MS, I CAN TELL YOU THIS MAN IS FANTASTIC HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR OUR FELLOW SOUTHERNERS IN LA , HES THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THEM IN A LONG TIME. HE WOULD BE A GREAT VP CHOICE IN 2012 OR EVEN A PRESIDENTAL CHOICE. YALL WILL BE SO LUCKY.
by canadasucks
Wed Feb 25 2009Very interesting. . .a classic token VP for the repubs (what the hell- they made the Affirmative-Action move with Palin) so this might be a strong possibility as a guy who could add some diversity to the ticket. But soooo much could happen between now and then. Four today as a VP choice, two as the head guy. But in six months things could be entirely different. (Update) Slumdog millionare loses a star after that pendantic delivery last night. Someone tell him to work on those speech classes or he'll never win anything outside of LA. . .

Fri Nov 21 2008Bobby Jindal, the Governor of Louisiana is another rising figure within the Republican Party. He's only 37 years old, but has a remarkably long record in Government. He's served in Washington as the Assistant Head of Health and Human Services in the 1st Bush term; he also served in a similar position in Louisiana's state government, a job which Jindal was appointed to at the age of 24! He was elected to Congress in 2003 and went on to run for and win the Governorship of Louisiana last year. Jindal has extensive experience in government, is highly intelligent, well regarded as a reformer within state government (he pushed through the state Legislature broad based ethics reforms), he has allies with most wings of the Republican party, and he's a good campaigner. The Republicans should nominate Jindal--I think he could give Obama a real run for his money in 2012, especially if the economic situation hasn't improved, or has only gotten worse. It should be noted that this electio... Read more

Mon Nov 17 2008Bobby Jindal should be the top candidate for the GOP. He could provide the needed message of reform and change. He could be the new Reagan.
by moosekarloff
Mon Nov 17 2008Any conservative, or even moderate Republican, is a dead duck at this point. And seeing it's going to take a decade or longer to repair the damage caused by the conservative ethos, anyone even distantly associated with this braindead ideology is permanently toxic. The only way the GOP will have any chance in the future is to stifle the conservatives, nuture the moderates in the party and seek to invade constituencies on the left side of the political fence. Of course, this is unlikely to happen, because the party lacks the will, wisdom and ability to do the intelligent and right thing. The 2008 election might have the last stand of the Republican party as we have known it, and four years from now, its remnants might be a small, white, regional party of disaffected soreheads, slackers and negro haters.

Mon Nov 10 2008Palin/Jindal sounds good. A good old southern boy to do the job.
by drummond
Sun Nov 09 2008Young and charismatic. But he could get dragged down with certain accounts of an exorcism he performed while in college with an unwilling female fellow student.
by irishgit
Sun Nov 09 2008Smart guy with some political savvy. It would be an off the charts kind of choice for the GOP, but not a bad one. I have the sense he's not interested though.
by bornoutsidedab_ayou
Thu Nov 06 2008Bobby's reform of Louisiana is on of the biggest leaps forward the state has seen in some time. He is a family man that will not stand for government corruption, the only negative of Jindal running for president is that Louisiana, a state so far behind the others due to past government corruption, will lose him as governor.
by waideyboy
Thu Nov 06 2008I like him, but he's a little to young.
by doctor_of_madness
Thu Nov 06 2008Jindal is a logical candidate for 2012, although that will depend on what takes place in the next couple of years. Should he choose to pursue the nomination, I'm confident that he will be ready.
by astromike
Thu Nov 06 2008Seen as a "rising star" in the Republican party. He would be the first (Asian) Indian American President/VicePresident. Since right now he is only 36 years old, I feel by 2012 or 2016 (if Obamas serves a second term) he will definately have the experience under his belt, and should turn alot of heads by then.Speculation over vice presidential nomination- Heightening the speculation, McCain invited Jindal, Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and McCain's former rivals Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee to meet with at McCain's home in Arizona on Friday, May 23, 2008, according to a Republican familiar with the decision; Romney, Huckabee, and Pawlenty, all of whom were already well acquainted with McCain, declined because of prior commitments. The meeting may have served a different purpose, such as consideration of Jindal for the opportunity to speak at the 2008 Republican National Convention, in a similar fashion to Barack Obama at the 2004 Democratic National ...
