Bloomingdales soho in NYC is one of the WORST store i have been to, i was literally holding a pile of clothes walking around in the store and NO ONE came up to help me or even ASK if i need help, all the sales associate just looked at me and walked away!!! and then when i went to the shoes department, nobody helped me either, so i just left everything and walked out of the store! i would never shop there again, i think i can spend my money somewhere else, where i am actually welcomed and being helped!

horrible service, ordered $400 merchandise items were sent in a plastic bag, unbelievable!!! They do not answer emails, and in addition sent me defective gloves. WILL NEVER ORDER OR PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE EVER AGAIN! Brown bag of Shi? Buy for people who care about their customers like Saks or NORDSTROM.

AWFUL customer service! I found the perfect Christmas present and submitted the order online--days went by and I finally received an email notifying me that my order had shipped. Then, to my surprise, I received a second email notifying me my order had been returned on the same day. ?? I called in to customer service and they informed me that they didn't actually have the product in stock and not only were they never going to contact me about the product availability, but they wouldn't even send a replacement item overnight so I still had a gift to give at Christmas. So much for my perfect gift, I will be sure to remember this in the future and spend my money elsewhere.

I just got screwed at Bloomingdale's website. I ordered a 2 Quart Le Creuset Dutch Oven on sale. The sale went through, I received a confirmation email, and I thought I was all set. My sister would lover her Christmas present. Now, just before Christmas, Bloomingdales sends me an email telling me they're not going to honor the purchase because they are now out of stock of that item! So if you order from Bloomingdale's you might get your order or you might not. Roll the dice and take your chances. That's how they do business.

This is the WORST place to shop!!!!!! The sales associates and their managers are TOTALLY unprofessional, rude, and they look very miserable to be working there. Bloomingdale's hits the bottom of the barrel when it comes to customer service. There is no such thing as customer service in bloomingdale's!!!!! I much rather go to Nordstrom to shop. Because unlike Bloomingdale's, which is a department store. NORDSTROM is a specialty store, and the CUSTOMER SERVICE there is truly OUTSTANDING!!!!! Plus they are way more fashion forward than Bloomingdales, and they totally beat everybody's prices. If you find something for less somewhere else, they will match it! No questions ask, and no faces!!! Before shopping at bloomingdale's, make sure to check with NORDSTROM before. It can save you a great aggravation! Shopping is meant to be fun!!!! There is no reason why I as a customer, should feel like I am bothering somebody...

Awesome merchandise from a Variety of Brands! I am only 13 and very excited to be buying a Juicy Couture backpack for eighth grade. I know that it will come on time and in good condition because i have ordered loads of clothing from here and I am never upset about what I receive. People who hate Bloomies are cheap and frivolous people, because it is fantastic.

awful employees. I tried to buy a swimsuit and when the saleslady rang it up, it turned out to be too expensive, I opted not to buy it and the lady was snobby and condescending about it. Turns out(as I later checked the designer's website), she rang it up at double the price and I could have afforded it. Of course, when I called back to find out if they still had it so I could buy it, I had to talk to about 3 people and everyone on the phone was busy or rude and acted like it was a huge pain to check if they had the swimsuit.

This place would be the worst place that a bride in the New York/New Jersey tri-state area could register. I attended an event sponsored by Martha Stewart Weddings and Wedding Wire tonight where Vera Wang and Darcy, the Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings were guest speakers. The event was highly disorganized, one of the Bloomingdales Staff who was showing the lovely Vera Wang China didn't know how to display the china for the actual potential brides that might have registered at Bloomingdales (which looked like it was about 20% of the 150 people that were actually at the event). The show was filled with long lines for everything (again for people that didn't look like potential brides and that they had just walked off the street). Also, Bloomingdales staff gave me grief about getting a gift bag because during the beginning of the show I was supposed to check in with the staff and receive a card that I was supposed to get all the vendors to sign to prove that I went to their table, even ... I love Bloomingdales. I shop here quite often and most of the times I don't get any help from any of the associates. I guess I don't look rich or snobby or high-end enough for them. There was one time I went to buy a few pair of jeans from the denim department and the cashier rung them all up and looked at the total and looked at me as if I couldn't afford it. There was also one time my sister tried to return something she purchased online to them and they sent her to 3 different cashiers in order to get the return done...and it wasn't like they were all friendly anyways. They need to stop "selectively" assist certain people...and help out everyone...it's unfair for the customers, especially when they want to spend so much money at this high end department store. I now take my business to Nordstrom.

Deceptive! The salespeople lie. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes while I was in their store. Had to be ordered from another Bloomingdales as they were out of stock at this location. They told me there would be no shipping fees since it was ordered in store and coming from a store out of state. I get my order delivered and low and behold there's a $21 delivery fee on it. Even worse, it showed it came from a store less than 20 miles away from the store I was at, so they lied to me so I wouldnt drive to the other store to purchase the items there. They wanted to be deceptive and lie just to charge me an extra $21. I called to speak with a manager and they acted like I was an idiot and said their salespeople wouldn't tell me something that wasn't true. Uh, hello! Of course they would. They want their commission! I will not shop here again due to this.

Living in NYC for 10 years I have, of course, shopped numerous times at Bloomingdales. I went to register for my wedding this past weekend (right after my recent registry experience at Crate and Barrel) - wow, what a difference. Crate and Barrel - staff was helpful - they will walk you through one section to the other and pass on to another associate if it is not their area. Bloomingdales - I had to repeat info several times - my online site wasn't working for a week . . . nobody helped me, nobody informed me that perhaps making an appointment would be better, etc. etc. I finally got to talk to someone in their department and when I offered my feedback she rushed me off the phone, and didn't want to hear it and instead got defensive "why are you taking it out on me" kind of attitude. Listen - you work in the service industry - it's your job to value customers. If you don't like to hear negative feedback - don't work in this industry. I went to Bloomingdales to specifically register for... Read more

I do not dislike Bloomigdales for the prices (most stores that carry designer lines have the same prices.) I hate it for the rediculously off-balance salespeople. When I need help I can get no one to help me. Granted I dress decently and carry nice handbags but I guess I don't have the B-dales appeal. However, when I need no help salespeople seem to be hounding me, asking me if I am looking for anything special and if they can help me find it. Yeah can you help me find my sense I left it at Saks and Nordstrom where I should be shopping.Oh and when I return something I am treated like a common criminal and asked many questions, and I have not even worn it! I will stick to Nordstrom, thanks.

I ordered 2 items from a friend's bridal registry and only one was shipped! I was horrofied to find out one of the gifts did not arrive and this is even after calling them to reconfirm. So I called them up again to re-process the order and their customer service personnel are retarded. I had to keep repeating myself and spell out everything in phonetic alphabet tables! After being on the phone with them for 20 minutes I get a confirmation email with still the wrong billing address! Unbelievable.

Well, I have to say there are two things I don't know where I would be without. One is my mother and Second is Bloomingdales. And sorry mom not necessarily in that order. This the only truly original Manhattan department store still around. I know we have so many shops but Bloomies still has so much class. Even the employees are good looking and neatly dressed. They Treat you like you should be when shopping like a valuable customer. whatever you need you will find it at Bloomies and it will more then likely be a better quality item then found at other department store. Forget about diamonds Bloomies is a girl's best friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the reviewers mentioned that Bloomingdale's is good for plus size career wear which is true, but if you are looking for stylish, trendy plus size clothing, it is a no-go. I shop at Bloomingdale's because they have Lafayette 148 plus size, but other than that, there is nothing to be impressed about. I recommend if you are looking for younger, stylish plus size clothing, check out a new boutique that just opened in Manhattan Monif C. Plus Sizes on 38th Street.

Where to begin? Some dept stores feature a coffee shop maybe, but there's a few different restaurants/places to eat right in the store too. The only one I've eaten at is the Showtime Cafe, it's a little pricey but the food's good. As for the clothing selection, I border between both the small end of plus size items and large end of misses'/designer clothes. But I needed plus size careerwear, the misses' suits didn't fit me right at all. I was impressed at the selection of high quality designer suits and other conservative careerwear available in plus sizes (FLATTERING and well-made stuff too, not the flimsy shapeless Coleman tents they sell at Lane Bryant and Marshalls/shelf pull type shops!) and the personal shopper I got was very helpful. I went during the huge "private sale" this past weekend and got a beautiful Ralph Lauren suit that normally sold for over $600 but got it for $240 (incl. tax). If I had more time and money, I definitely would've looked at some more designer items... Read more

The Scene For an institution that's been around since 1872, its fresh merch, as well as its cheerful lighting and colorful, quirky displays are all keenly modern. The music is great, the staff is fairly approachable and the crowds do thin out on the upper levels, where things get pricier and more refined. But, on the down side, the place is a labyrinth of columns, partitions and levels. Easy to get turned around, even lost. The Goods One of the best selections of handbags for all tastes and occasions. An incredible array of swimsuits and coats with its own petite section. The second floor is an energizing trip, condensing your favorite labels in one place: French Connection, BCBG and Kenneth Cole next to Bisou Bisou, Theory and Vivienne Tam. The all-too-tempting designer shoe salon on the fourth floor stocks those hard-to-walk-in goodies you see in magazines.

I absolutely love the Bloomies here in Orlando. And just because some gay people shop at Bloomingdale's, it does not make it a GAY store. Spare me the stereotyping. Bloomingdale's has been around forever, and if I remember correctly, it is mostly women that adore this store.

The selection at this NYC legend is immense. I often wonder what the buyers and managers of this store think when they stock the store with everything from low-end brands like CK and Tommy to the top of the line designers from around the World. On one floor you may admire a $2000 suit and on the next a $25 toaster oven. Go figure! The higher end stuff here is not as exclusive as what you may find at Barneys or Bergdorf's, but still there is a lot to look at (and buy!) The sales staff, for the most part, is dreadful: either ignorant and untrained people or old-style hard sell people (I have had a couple of great salespeople here.) The layout is confusing and messy. Worth a stop, but beware....

Since a young girl my mother took me to Bloomingdales to shop and browse. I always loved it there, all the colorful decorations, and the soft, gentle music, and my favorite part of our shopping day was that I was allowed to buy a new outfit! Still, today, I can't leave Bloomingdales with a bag or two. Whether its for me or for someone else, you can't leave the store without something. I especially enjoy their handbag department: Burberry, Fendi, Kate Spade, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc... And I love there seasonal swimsuits, hats, and evening gowns. Sometimes I buy things I dont even Use!
