If you are looking for a hang over cure...this isn't it. I would suggest that you just try eating a good meal and drinking plenty of water before you go out on your weekend bender.

Personally, when it comes to hangovers, I prefer to prevent them rather than Cure them. Alternating Gatorade with alcohol the night before helps more than anything I have ever tried. However if you do find yourself with a hangover, Bloody Mary's about as good as it gets. Mix 3 parts Vodka, 6 parts Tomato juice, 1 part Lemon juice Add dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, Tabasco, salt and pepper into highball glass with ice cubes. Garnish with Celery. The alcohol in the drink Gives your body something new to deal with and the vitamin C in the drink gives your body back what it needs. Avoid too much coffee, at least until later and drink a lot of Orange juice or Gatorade.

Classic hair of the dog drink. Just because a lot of people drink them in the morning or on 8AM flights in first class doesn't mean they aren't raging alcoholics.

No way does a drink with the word "bloody" in it sound enticing. I don't really like tomato juice and I certainly don't like horseradish so you won't see me sipping one of these hung over (you won't see me hung over anyway). I don't get a drink that needs celery and not an umbrella. Sorry, Mary its not cutting it!

I do not like Tomatoes. I certainly dont like Tomato juice. And celery can take its negative calories to someone else. I do not and will not drink a Bloody Mary. Say that three times in the dark!

Personally, I am not a huge fan of Bloody Marys--I have never finished an entire one myself. Of course, I do not like tomato juice. However, those who do like tomato juice would probably love this typical morning drink. I do enjoy the stick of celery. It can help someone avoid a dreaded hangover because it provides a lot of vitamins coupled with a bit of alcohol to help level off the blood alcohol level.

I never thought I'd love a Mary before.....but I have, and she is bloody! hahaha, that sounds gross, but you know what I'm saying. My friends and I love to go about SF finding the best bloody mary's in town. And we are very pompus when it comes to our fabulous day drink! To all bars out there: do not forget the worstershire sauce, tiny bit of pickle juice, absolute peppar, and not just a celery stick but pickled green beans too! And asparagus! and olives! The spicier the better!!!!! :) Whats also great is because its like you have a meal/drink all in one! Its like drinking your lunch/dinner/breakfast, whatever time of day it is! So far I have two places that I've found the best....they will be revealed in their own reviews!

I LOVE a good, spicy bloody mary! Not just tomato or clamato juice and vodka, but a good mix--like Major Peters. Then you need to garnish with a dill pickle spear, lime, and a couple olives (and throw in a cocktail onion) for color! Sprinkle some seasoned salt on the top. Wow--that will separate the boys from the men!

Love them bloody and virgin, with lots of Tabasco and/or horse radish. Wakes you up in the morning. Plus, it's a salad in a glass - good for you.

There are few things more effective for a hangover than a strong one of these, made very spicy.

A five if made with homemade tomato juice, but the vast majority of the time it won't be, and commercially available tomato juice just isn't very good.

Whats funny is I love every ingredient, just for some reason, not so much together! For hangovers (not that I have them anymore) I always prefered just plain red beer....beer with tomato juice.

Tomato juice is boring, but a good bloody mary is fantastic. The spice of a bloody mary makes it a great drink to have with a meal.

I don't have them often, but when I go to a brunch (I enjoy a good brunch and occasionally will make the effort to get up early Sunday morning and indulge, against Anthony Bourdain's advice), it always seems to be the specialty of the house. Not that this is a burden; when I have them, I enjoy them. One is enough for me...it hits the spot, and I don't feel any temptation to have another, and yet another...consequently, I don't feel sick or wrung-out later on. A Bloody Mary or an Irish Coffee are really the only alcoholic drinks (outside of an occasional glass of red wine) I occasionally allow myself. A far cry from that dark period of my life where I was waking up nearly every morning hung-over from Boilermakers, pills, and whatever else I was able to get my hands on.

A good drink to recover from a night of drinking. Just one will do. Use good tomato juice (not from concentrate) it's hard to find but tastes better. Wal Mart sells it in a large can and the Western Family Grocers used to have a canned house brand that was the real deal also.

Refreshing drink.I like them spicy.Almost every bartender makes them slightly differently. My recommendation is: 1 and a half or 2 oz of Vodka,V-8 (much more interesting than plain old tomato juice),horseraidish and hot sauce to taste,a dash of worcestershire sauce, shake it up,pour in a glass, garnish with a celery stick,a sprinkle of pepper and a lemon wedge.

This is great for hangovers. Try to add horseradish, if you can. If you use Clamato, it's a Bloody Caesar, especially in Canada.

Bloody Mary is defenately my favourite drink, only you can't get it in many places 'cause almost nobody likes tomato juice. Wel I do ! I think it's a real mysterious drink, in comparation with blood and other horror stuff that makes it so cool. And the name. Love it !

The perfect drink for the morning, you can drink it with breakfast. Combines with any meal or during the day. Has a lot of vitamin C also, if you worry about nutrition.

In my opinion, one of the best drinks ever made. The drink itself is a mixture of Vodka and Clamato juice. The only thing holding me back from drinking this is my age.

I don't know about tomato juice and vodka. It definitely has to be made the right way for your tastes. I prefer it with a lot of worchester sauce, but everyone's opinion differs.

I love these because they are spicy and very tasty. A good combination of flavors with the tomato and vodka. Great with celery sticks and tobasco sauce.

This is a good drink for those who like tomatoes. This drink is healthy and still has enough punch to wake you up. If enough horseradish, tabasco sauce and celery salt, those who like zest will have a party in their mouths.

Just the mix is great alone, without the alcohol. It is available gratis on most airline flights. I like it with a couple lemon slices. Chilled but no ice is good to keep that spicy taste.

Terrible. Vodka and tobasco sauce don't mix. Makes you sick in the stomach. Mainly a rich person's drink. Poison tastes better.

I hate tomatoes, and especially tomato juice, so these horrible drinks are out, no matter how spicy the juice you use. And Clamato is even worse, tastes like a tomatoey sardine in your glass. Ugh!

I like these as long as the ice does not get a chance to melt - then they become too watered down and that does not make the tomato jiuce bery tasty. Spicy is good, these are nice to have when you have been drinking through the night and do not feel like having another beer early in the morning.

good for any time of day or night, the more horseradish, the better...helps replenish the lectrolites after a tough night.

What else are you going to drink when you wake up hung over at 10:00 on a Saturday morning and you have a big college football game to go to in less than two hours? I mean besides beer, Jack & Coke, schnapps, Mad Dog... OK, maybe a Bloody Mary isn't the only option, but it's a good one.
