Thu Mar 18 2010Complete and utter idiot but funny. Knows nothing of real politics so he tries to put an amusing spin on serious issues yet maintains the same liberal views that have driven this country into the ground. How's that hope and change working out for you Bill? You wanted Obama, you got him. He now has outspent more than all the other Presidents combined. Platform of no more troops but then he send more to Afghanistan. Platform of no additional taxes and he can't find enough things to tax us for. Platform of healthcare for everyone and no his new plan does not cover everyone and it also costs us billions and the closed door earmarks for democratic run states is not lost on us either. You support THIS GUY Bill? Thank god we live in a country that so fiercely guards it's borders to allow you to speak your mind like this. Glad you make millions because the rest of us suffer from the tax and spend liberal morons who run this country. You should be proud I guess. Uberdeuche Pelosi is... Read more

Tue Sep 08 2009Highly entertaining!!! This guy can really make me laugh.....although I am Christian. Very controversial show with so many truths thrown in. We put our alarm on just so that we can wake up to watch his show! He always hits the spot! I think Bill is very intelligent. And whatever he is on, I want some, hehe. There is only one of his shows that I did not like, and it was the one with Cameron Diaz, because he acted like he was on a date the whole time. Both of them did!

Wed Apr 30 2008Something of an antidote to the hannitys, oriellys, limbaughs, etc. Funny and insightful. Sometimes offbase, but usually spot-on.

Tue Feb 12 2008He is really good at political humor.

Thu Sep 13 2007I can't imagine that any conservative would find him funny, since he pokes so much fun at them. He has to be controversial, otherwise he wouldn't get the good ratings. Yeah, he is kind of pompous and arrogant, but he also is quite intelligent and perceptive. However, I don't like it when he interrupts what a guest is saying in order to make the point that he wants made (nor do I like anyone who interrupts others), since it too often comes across as him thinking he's the person whose opinion counts most. Nevertheless, I think he's very funny (but then I'm not a conservative), has some very good guests, and I like a lot of what he does in trying to point out hypocrisy and just plain stupidness.

Thu Jul 05 2007wish i could give him a zero. can't stand him. since when does behavior as shown in GTH's photo below make you a legitimate voice? Say i'm too conservative, close minded, whatever you want, but i've tried to watch him. i've tried to listen to him. but every time i do he says something about our beloved nation that just makes my blood boil. if America's so bad for you, get out! and stop raking in your money by bashing the country with the freedoms that got you on tv in the first place. i can't help but wonder how he celebrated the 4th last night. I picture him blazing up a doobie and entertaining a few people in his living room, flicking the off and cussing about Bush. I'm tired of the war in Iraq too, but i don't think this guy has helped anything at all.

Mon May 28 2007I watch this guy once in a while and I can't stand him. As strongly as I am against the Iraq War and most of the policies of the Bush Administration, watching this guy all the time would make me a Neocon Republican.

Tue May 22 2007Love his HBO show. A man who bust bible thumpers and bush's balls can't be all bad now can he?
by johng2
Mon May 21 2007One of the only talk show hosts in this country that is worth listening to. Usually has brilliant guests on his show. Told us the hard truth that 150 people that work in the Bush adminstration graduated from Pat Robertson's Law School. At least he knows how incompetent and pathetic the Bush administration really is.

Fri Feb 09 2007Annoying pompous jerk that is extremely unpleasant to look at. Not very bright, but thinks he is.

Thu Jan 25 2007Ultra-liberal and very opinionated, but he always manages to make a convincing argument. If only more Americans would listen.

Mon Sep 04 2006A hate-mongering, psuedo-intellectual diatribist who simply lacks brainpower. Firstly, he is anti-American and he calls our great country "a pitiful, helpless giant." Simply disguisting. He also has said that America is a "stupid country with stupid people who don't pay attention." Sure, there are a few people who are inettentive, but overall, most Americans are good and intelligent people. Of course, although he claims to be an independent, he's such an obvious far-left fringe liberal that its not even funny. He once generalized stupidly about Republicans, claming that "bad at sex. They're pasty, unattractive white people..." Finally, he's simply ignorant of history. He claims that the evil fascist known as Saddam Hussein was a "bulwark against terrorism." Of course, this must be ignoring the fact that he had a non-agression pact with the equally-evil Al Qaeda as early as the 1990s. Saddam also gave thousands of dollars to Palestian suicide bombers and his country had a camp... Read more

Fri Jul 07 2006Dropping N-Bombs in an argument isn't simply a "dirty word" or "sarcasm", he's a left-winged looney toon who shouldn't be taken seriously.

Thu Jul 06 2006Lost his sanity for awhile, but seems to have regained it.Very sharp and witty.

Sat Jul 01 2006Would never make a point of watching him, but he's amusing when my TV surfing lands on his show.

Fri Mar 24 2006Moron. He's always ripping on black people at his comedy shows yet his wife is black! He called his former wife the n-word too. Bill, you and your huge nose need to shut the hell up!

Sun Mar 05 2006Years ago when he first came on the scene, I thought he was occassionally amusing and held a few interesting positions. Gradually the novelty wore off however, and after watching his show in my hotel room just last weekend (a tedious, whiney hate Bush-a-thon) I finally saw him for what he is: a smug, pompous, arrogant and obnoxious character who loves to think of himself as oh so clever, cutting edge, original and independent-minded, yet in reality is at best a pedestrian comedian with an altogether bloated sense of self-importance. No, I wouldn't recommend subscribing to HBO anytime soon!

Sat Mar 04 2006Sometimes he's funny. . .sometimes he isn't. . .but boy, you alleged fans of free-speech really change your tune when little Billy says something that offends your precious sensibilities. . .
by samtheman
Mon Nov 07 2005He'd probably be good as a friend to have around at a party but just a couple of times a year. A little bit of him goes a long ways. He found a niche that no one was clamoring to be filled.
by brandy203
Tue Nov 01 2005He thinks he knows everyhing and thinks he has all the answers...Well lets see him try being the president for a a day and see how he likes it....He is against everyone as far as I can see it and has his own oppinions which to me are not very good ones in the least...He is very judgemental and always critisizing people, all people it seems like. I guess he just thinks he knows everything...

Wed Sep 28 2005Splendid! Kick's O-Liely's ass any day of the week!

Wed Apr 20 2005Tells it like it is. I appreciate his stand on religion and politics, basically that they don't mix. He cares about the enviroment and what is happening to it. I do feel sorry for the rightwingers that come on and don't always get a fair shake. Regardless I think his show makes you think about what is going on around us(Unlike the 180 degree artist formally known as Dennis Miller)

Sun Feb 20 2005Too smarmy and elitist---and that's coming from someone who likes Craig Kilborn.

Fri Dec 31 2004I cancelled HBO when they put him on.

Tue Nov 09 2004He has gone so partisan he isn't even funny anymore. He finally crossed the line last week with having Chomsky as a guest.
by arhamde3
Mon Nov 01 2004This is the only tv show that is neutral and not supporting any one
by eschewobfuscat_ion
Mon Nov 01 2004Bill Maher is as partisan as anyone on TV, radio or in print media. He hates (is there a stronger term?) President Bush and slants every, every discussion to that agenda. He doesn't really love Kerry, or any politician, as far as I can see, that is (I suspect) the feeling of many liberal partisans on RIA, but if you think he's objective, you're voting for Kerry. Why? is your problem.

Sat Oct 23 2004There's is only one reason he's on tv, because he's a Mormon...no wait, that's not right.
by fluffytuffy
Wed Sep 22 2004I don't like him, he is constantly critical of maybe an overweight person, but I have seen him on his old show half drunk, and he thinks apparently being hooked on alcohol rather than food is OK? No Bill, it is not, NO one wants to be around a drunk, especially a very unattractive, ascerbic one! Plus, he is a spokesperson for PETA, and we all know how half baked they are, not even worth what he might think he brings to them, I won't watch PETA spokes people in ANY form!

Sat Sep 04 2004Too liberal. Interesting topics, just not enough balance to further the view points. Of the three guests, there are (usually) two liberals, plus Bill Maher, plus the audience that trounce on a conservative or independent. Maher should be confident enough to even out the panel in order to have a constructive arguement of world issues.

Fri Sep 03 2004supid ass that does not know anything thats why got can from abc not funny blame the 911 attacks on us because of our belive on GOD still not funny at all on hbo

Thu Sep 02 2004Because I fundamentally agree with Maher on so many issues, it would be very easy to rate him a 5. However, he often comes accross as bitter and hostile. It is difficult to imagine his attitude convincing people who disagree with him to open up their minds and rethink their positions.
by callitdownthel_ine75
Sun Aug 22 2004Bill Maher is a farce. Anyone who believes he is impartial (which he would claim and deny alternately for his own convenience) is sadly mistaken. Maher is a cutthroat who has his own agenda. Rude and obnoxious, he has been repeatedly exposed by others- and seeing Maher try to weasel his way out of arguments is a study in futility (he guffaws and makes insinuations based on innuendos and rumors). Any well-informed person of integrity can expose this pompous jerk. Anyone.

Sat Jul 24 2004This man's an idiot. He wants the US to copy security methods from Israel. Apparently he thinks Israel is doing such a bang up job of protecting their people. It doesn't occur to him that the Israeli occupation and Palestinian suicide bombings might be somehow connected. And he's not at all worried about this incestoid union between Israel and the US which are on display periodically in the UN. Must see. In short, he's a hypocritc contradictory patronising badly read sad little man. If the Democrats stood for what he does, I wouldn't know who to vote. But then again I'm from Slovenia and I don't have to.

Sat Jul 10 2004He's a left-wing Bill O'Reilly.
by ernesta
Mon Jun 14 2004A rude, coarse, jackass. Part of the Blame America First crowd. Never a student of history, he acts like he's above it all including facts. Maybe he'd make a great Propaganda Minister for a despotic regime.

Sat Apr 10 2004Self-absorbed loser who tries to pretend to be fair. He is rude, arrogant, loud-mouthed leftist. Thank goodness ABC tossed him after stupid 9/11 comments. Then he tried to hide behind freedom of speech crap.
by diamonddavid
Sun Apr 04 2004Maher has no credibility whatsoever. He is NOT a Libertarian. Sure, he's in favor of legalizing drugs. Big Deal. Let's look at the full record, shall we? He is in favor of gun control, saying once that a person should own a gun, as in only one gun. This is freedom Bill? He supports hefty business regulations, in the name of saving the environment. He's also in favor of higher taxes. In essence, a guy who claims to be a Libertarian wants to confiscate more money that the government can spend. Weird. He endorsed John McCain's campaign reform, a restriction of free political speech. It's so outrageous that the ACLU opposes it. That's just for starters. Let me state, I have nothing against people who hold those positions. What I take exception to is a smug, smarmy punk claiming to be a Libertarian when he's anything but. Maher supports all those positions which happen to run contrary to the Libertarian Party platform. Funny, I haven't heard Maher speak about eliminating so... Read more

Enjoys hating America, talking out of his as*, and trying to convince people stupid enough that he is some sort of Hollywood Stud. HAs about as much testosterone as does GWB's left pinky. Willing to sell out America to impress Hollywood friends.

Mon Feb 23 2004I was delighted when Bill Maher's new show finally began airing last year. I truly missed his candor that was the trademark of Politically Incorrect. Although I found his controversial remark following 9/11 that would eventually result in the cancellation of his show to be in poor taste and certainly bad timing, I thought it was completely blown out of proportion, not to mention completely out of context. I enjoy watching Maher, both as a talk show host and a stand up comedian, as he makes some very valid points on certain things. I may not always agree with him, but he always speaks his mind and backs up his opinions with well-reasoned, logical thinking. He's certainly more balanced than many other talk show hosts on television, although his leftist leanings are quite evident.
