16-0 in Regular Season. One game away from Super Bowl. Two games away from being first NFL team with a perfect full season.

Despicable cheater and arrogant bastard, needlessly running up the score. Deserves none of the acclaim and all of the infamy he's gotten. Hope his career deservedly ends in mediocrity and disgrace.

The witch hunt is overrated and he's probably guiltly of about as much as every other coach out there. UPDATE: For those not listening, EVERYBODY STEALS SIGNS. The crappy teams do it, the good teams do it. This is not like the NBA where games were getting fixed, kids. Did "Sweatshirt" get a shady upper hand at times? Sure. But he really didn't do anything to warrant all these self appointed experts to come on here for their one post and run their mouth when they have no clue what really goes on in these organizations? Get off your high horse, people.

I am a Bostonian and a Pats fan, so it's hard to argue with the results of what Belichick has brought the city. He loses a point, though, for the whole grunge thing, which at first was a cool reminder that the scoreboard is the only thing that matters at the end of the day, but his attitude has hardened into a standoffish silence. He doesn't have to go Jim Mora on us, but I wish he managed to show a more passion there to reassure us he's not evil. So he had 4 stars in my book until the videotaping cheating scandal, which wasn't really so bad in itself, but the excuse that he "misinterpreted" the league rules was so stupid and ludicrous that I can't maintain the same respect for him. How much room for interpretation could you find in a rule that bans videotaping the opposition, anyway? It's not like we're dealing with the Constitution here. C'mon, Bill, time to come clean.

With three titles in a difficult era to win consistently thanks to free agency, Belichick has three titles and is among the top ten great coaches of all-time. He has a great team concept instilled in his players.

He did take the same team to the superbowl but it was mainly the players that stayed in good shape for all those years that deserve the 5 stars

Bill Belichick is the best coach of all time. For all of you naysayers, take a look at his record. It says it all. No one can even compare. Furthermore, he is a man of great integrity and strong core values.

I see a few comments that it was the arrival of Brady made Belichick great. Well, fair enough, up to a point. Great coaches frequently have great quarterbacks through some or all of their careers. The same could be said of Lombardi/Starr, Madden/Stabler, Shula/Griese, Landry/Staubach, Walsh/Montana, Ewbanks/Unitas, Noll/Bradshaw, to name just a few. Did those coaches make those quarterbacks great? I would argue that they honed an already fine weapon, and pointed it in the right direction, and used it properly. As to defense, Belichick has always lived by the old adage about defense winning championships, and his defenses are among the best and most imaginative and flexible in the NFL.

who's the dumbass who said Shanahan is the only active coach with back to back superbowl victories, or two for that matter? WAKE UP!!!! Bill Belichick has three, with two in a row and counting. Belichick's postseason record is better than Vince Lombardi's

bill is one of the luckiest coaches in history, he took over a team that had been groomed from the parcells era and got lucky. look at what he did to the browns?????????in 1993 when the team is 5-3 tied for the division lead, he cuts the starting all pro quarterback (bernie kosar) because of a "diminishing of skills", and THAT same qb signs with the cowboys because troy aikman got hurt and saves the season and the nfc title game for the cowboys? and what does he have for an answer after cutting bernie? VINNY TESTAVERDE?????????????? what a horrible move as we all know and the browns still havent recovered since that time! he left cleveland a toxic wasteland when all was said and done! bill is the most over rated coach in history. he was supposed to take over the jets after parcells and then he changed his mind because he knew if he didnt walk in to an already established team his coaching days would be over if he failed again like he did in cleveland, then he gets the PATS. HE IS CRED... Read more

Guarenteed all of you saying that Bill sucks are fanboys of your own hometown teams. Half of you are yelling JETS RULE when you might as well come right out and say, Hey, I'm immature and a fanboy of my team, so even if Belichick is one of the greatest minds in NFL history, I still hate him. Quote: You're right HuskerBeliever. Bill Belichick is abomination and I absolutely positively detest him. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS Wow, that shows some creativity. No reason or complaint. Just don't like him, eh? Is it because he outsmarted pretty much every coach he has gone up against? Quote: I don't care if he wins 3 Superbowls with the patriots. The guy is complete slime and I can't stand him Once again, pretty bad answer. Give reasons people if you don't like the man. Stop being such fanboys of your teams. Give credit where credit is due. Quote: If there was a zero for star rating, I think I would chose it..unfortunately I have to put one star here. Nothing makes me more sic... Read more

A very over-rated coach. His brilliance really came when he chose his offensive coordinator (Charlie Weis) and defensive coordinator (Romeo Crennel). However, both of those men who really were the driving force for this team, are gone (Weis went to Notre Dame, Crennel went to Cleveland), and in the same season even. That's virtually impossible to make up for. Now, Belichick is acting as his own offensive coordinator, and that can only end in disaster because he's a defensive minded coach. Would you ever hand your offense's reigns to Gunther Cunningham or Larry Coyer? Hell, I wouldn't give my offense over to successful head coaches like Marty Schottenheimer or Bill Cowher. Why would you do it with Belichick? Besides, the Pats have lost so much of their talent and leadership it's not even funny. Ty Law went to the Jets. Tedi Bruschi is probably done for his career after that stroke. Roman Phifer is gone. Keith Traylor is gone. David Patten is gone. It's probably going to be really ugly f... Read more

Hmmmm. Let's see. Two Super Bowls in 3 years. Longest win streak ever, in and out of playoffs. Longest first quarter scoring streak ever. How can you not like this guy. No yelling, no screaming, just solid football. He also knows how to put a coaching staff together, i.e. Romeo and Charlie. Of course, the poor whiners from the New Jersey Jets will complain because he came to New England. And the poor New Yorkers will whine becase, well, they're New Yorkers, and it's just in their nature. Wait! This just in from the news desk. Bob Kraft has just replaced Belichick as coach with bringer of famine because B of F said in this forum, and I quote, I could coach a team better than him. Yeah. Sure.

Is the epitome of one who has learned from earlier miscues in Cleveland. It took a lot of balls in '01 to go with some kid named Brady over the established franchise guy when Bledsoe was ready to go. Going with his gut rather than the guy making all the money established him as a guy who is interested more in winning and chemistry than paychecks and who makes what.

2 superbowl victories in 3 years in the era of free agency and the salary cap is phenomenal. I'd like to see someone else do it. The Buc's won't, I'll tell you that.

Having him third is an embarrasment to RATEITALL! Prepares his team for games better than anyone I can remember. All this coming from an Eagles 30 year season ticket holder and Andy Reid fan.

If there was a zero for star rating, I think I would chose it..unfortunately I have to put one star here. Nothing makes me more sickening than to see Belicheck on the top 5 ..much less top 15 of the coaches listed in the NFL. He may have luck..but he represents boston, where all those potato eating irish are..Red Sox are dead..and the Patriots will not be fed..Jets RULE!!

Yeah, he sucks. Half the team was injured and he still managed the to win(at least) 12 games straight. What a bad coach. Even though they didn't do perfect last year, you're an idiot for giving him a low rating because he got the Patriots the Super Bowl two years ago.

I give Belichick a great deal of credit. He didn't get to be a good head coach until he left Cleveland. He acquired some marginal free agents and won a Super Bowl. But he wasn't able to motivate that talent last year. Either that or the rest of the league caught up with him.

Who ended up winning this struggle, Kraft or parcells? I do like Belichick as a coach and matbe he can bring some toughness to this sofy Patriots team. He can start with Terri Glenn. I think Parcells hit it right on the head with his assessment of this 'guy' a couple of years ago.
