It was well before 2006 and it is now. Its gradually pushed forward in a way that's almost invisible to us, and the pieces in place have the stench of government all over them. We let the police steadily militarize themselves over the past couple decades in the name of security. Do you feel safe yet? I sure as fuck don't. We're letting government exert insane amounts of control over the economy in the name of financial stability. Is your economy more stable? Not unless you grossly mismanaged an institution deemed "too big to fail," I'd bet. Our media, once the watchdogs of free society, has become complicit with the bullshit flowing from the mouths of these arrogant jackasses, going so far as to take us on when we have the nerve to protest. They've done a nice job of it too, whether it was the attempt to discredit the anti-war movement or the current assault on those poor, misguided "tea-baggers." The sad thing that it all really boils down to is that we have seen the enemy, and it is ... Read more

Big government flies in the face of every constitutional principle. If allowed to go unchecked, (increased control in the name of helping the people) we're in big trouble. Its happening and you don't even realize it. Wake up America!

Clear threat. Before everyone decides to throw the book at me, let me explain myself!!! The establishment of the Federal Reserve and the IRS in 1913 really signaled a key shift in our nation's history. Both of the above named institutions have been instrumental in the expansion of government power, especially since the beginning of the First World War. The Federal Reserve, with its ability to artificially increase the money supply (especially after the gold standard was dropped during the Nixon Administration, who established a "fiat" currency system, unpegged to any commodity), has largely emancipated Washington policy-makers from the risky politics of raising revenues through direct taxation. This facilitated the rise of massive new bureaucracies, along with the imperial ambitions of the US government. This political dynamic with regards to our monetary policy real... Read more

Government at all levels is simply too intrusive in our daily lives. Political correctness has gone berzerk in America. We have now gotten to the point where Washington D.C polticians are even wanting to dictate what color a person's roof on his house is. This, from the same politicians that cannot control spending (but want to lecture you how to live your life), Washington has failed to deal with the important issues such as fiscal responsibiity, unemployment etc, yet they cannot even leave the clocks alone with the on again off again of Daylight Saving Time. Washington politicians may think they know best, but they do not, their track record is miserable. This of course, is the same Goverment that has given us FEMA, HUD ,The Post Office and and virtually insolvent Social Security/Medicare system. Yet, now Washington wants to run energy, healh care etc. With Washington politician's track record that should scare the daylights out of anyone that thinks through that issue for two s... Read more

Government is big, getting bigger and increasingly is a threat to our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
