Wed Jan 13 2010We have a big family, and moving a big family is messy work, packing is really a tough job. A big family has lots of things to get packed and it is overwhelming. Moving is very difficult, without a professional. It’s better to involve a professional mover for the entire household moving service. All of us worked to get quotes from here and there; we almost received quotes from all the movers. At last we decided to go with Better Way to Move. There was no specific reason as to why did we choose them, but they were comfortable to deal with. Thanks

Sun Jan 10 2010We had a wonderful experience with Better Way To Move. We will certainly use them again in the future. They were extremely personable and trustworthy! We had a terrible experience in the past with another moving company, and so we were very worried about the moving process. But Better Way was fantastic and changed our overall perception of the moving process. It doesn't have to be bad. It can run smoothly. And though I can't remember the exact cost of the move, I remember that it was under $3000. This was $2000 less than our previous move that was such a horrible experience. So, in addition to being trustworthy, responsible, and personable, they were affordable. Thanks.

Thu Jan 07 2010We used the San Jose Better way to Move Branch for my daughter's move. We didn't have any issues with the office or the guys who moved her stuff. There was no damage and nothing was stolen. We were very comfortable working with this office. We would recommend the Better way to Move in San Jose to anyone. Thanks for a job well done!

Wed Jan 06 2010Better way to Move's staff were professional, and very courteous. They made sure all of my fragile items made it to my new home all in one piece!! We couldn't be more pleased with this company and their employees. I am recommending Better way to Move to all of my coworkers and friends.

Mon Jan 04 2010I am a Single Parent and value good, honest help. Better Way are straightforward, honest movers. They gave me a free on-site Quote to pack and move my 2 bedroom apartment. On the day of the move they sent a crew and packed and moved me in 1 easy, worry free day, and the Guaranteed Flat-rate Quote never changed. It was the best, easiest worry free experience I ever had. If you want a great experience Call Better Way To Move

Thu Dec 31 2009Booked these guys through a moving lead source and had a quote 5 minutes after my request. Despite being a small company I had to give them a try. I Rolled the dice and was a winner. Picked up and delivered on time and nothing was missing or damaged. Thanks a lot i will be using them to move from my storage to my new home and whatever else comes up in the future.

Tue Dec 22 2009The services offered by better way to move was really amazing, I was pleased to see them quickly packing the stuff. They knew their work and were ready with everything. They were prepared to help me with the move. Then they loaded and unloaded my stuff as well and settled them just right in place as it was in my old house. Thanks for everything.

Tue Dec 22 2009We moved a few months ago with Bekins Moving and Storage from San Francisco, California to Ft. Lauderdale Florida they were excellent and the best moving crew we have ever had out of 5 moves. This move happened to us kind of last minute, we were given a total of 4 weeks to for work so I took the offer and contacted Bekins to move us and they set us up. When the driver arrived they filled out the paperwork with us, prepped our furniture and moved us out without a problem. The delivery was requested for a Monday and said they would accommodate that timeframe for us. This was a awesome move and if we have to move in the future, we will be calling them again.

Tue Dec 22 2009I contacted Bekins Moving and Storage they great on the phone and explained everything to me. From the first conversation to the last they made me feel secure using this company and assured me that the move would be great. I have read bad reviews on a lot of different websites and I had to make a decision soon they made me feel the most comfortable and out of the 10 or so quotes I received this was reasonably priced. The move was great and the price didn't go up any from the estimate and the guys who did the move were great too. Everything arrived on Saturday and all was great. Thanks for everything I will let all my friends know about you and use you again if I plan to move in the future.

Mon Nov 16 2009Like previous reviewers, if I could give a 0 (or - for that matter) I would. We confirmed the move date and time; however, They did not show up and did not even call! I was left to my own devices. When I called that day they were closed so I called the following Monday, they were SO rude. They left me on hold for over 35 minutes and then whe the Supervisor got on the phone he told me " What's done is done, get over it B**ch" then hung up on me. After that I saw they got an "F" from the BBB with over 83 compaints against them!!!! I wrote a review of my experience with this company and recieved a personal email from the Supervisor, which I cave copied for you below. "I never used the word bitch but i guess you are a bitch! Go get a life, it's sad how pathetic you are." Whatever you do, do NOT use this company!

Fri Feb 27 2009These guys are great! When my current roommate and I moved to the city we were strapped for time and really were just feeling a little lazy. Our friend's mom gave us better way to move's number and we gave them a call. We had them pick up my roommates furniture from Fremont, my stuff from Emeryville and finish everything in less than 4 hours. It was pretty amazing considering the commute time as well with their large truck. Before this move I never used to hire movers because I'm pretty cheap and I just want to save a buck or two. After seeing one guy maneuver both of my couches up and out of my living room through the door with a tight apartment hallway angle and into the truck in 5 min. when it took my brother and I a good 45 min, I was sold. They were very courteous and treated my belongings with care. I'm calling them again when the dreadful day of moving comes up again

Wed Feb 25 2009It's all true, best move ever. 1) Complete wizards with space manipulation. My sofa wouldn't make it through the narrow door and hallway. They took the door off the hinges in 30 seconds, and somehow manuevered it in. 2) The moving charges are to the 1/4 hours, so I got charged for 2 3/4 hours for a 1 BR move (including walking up 3 flights of stairs). 3) Take the time to assemble furniture RIGHT, not just hope you won't notice they haven't. . Best move ever.

Wed Feb 25 2009These guys rock. I called Better way to move a week before we had to move and they had the best quote of the 3 companies I had bid. When the 5 man team arrived, managed by Sean, they were efficient, respectful and professional. I never got to meet Sean in person, but I value his choice of employees as they were always gracious both to me and to our apartment manager. They packed and moved us in 2 days from a 2600sq ft. co-op building and respected all of the building rules, as not to get us in trouble. Not only did they dismantle all of our furniture (including our 1000 lb. bed) that would not fit in the elevator, they put it back together at our new location and helped me place everything in the right place. I also entrusted them with packing our entire kitchen, computers, artwork and clothing. Not a thing was damaged or scratched. The boxes were labeled and well organized, and anything fragile was wrapped well beyond what it really needed; a good thing. After the move, they re... Read more

Tue Feb 24 2009I just recently took Better Way to Move to Small Claims Court in order to resolve an extreme overcharge (specifically i was charged $3000 for a 2 mile studio move). I won the case, however it's been 3 months and I have yet to see them send me the money the court ordered them to pay me. I have been trying to serve them papers for the order of examination date that I have scheduled with the court and they are dodging me at all costs. This company not only overcharged me, but now that I have a court ruling against them for $2000 + all the fees and expenses incurred in order to get my money, they are still unresponsive. This company is your classic scam disguised as a quality moving company. They have continually been absent, from the day of my move, if you would like to hear the actual details concerning the move, they are below. I disputed the charge of $3000.00 on my credit card from Better Way 2 Move. I hired this company to take care of my move which was a distance of 2 miles. Th... Read more

Wed Jan 28 2009I spoke with Ronald from Better way to move to set up my appointment. My sister and I used them last year to move all of our stuff. This year I used them to move my 3 br house from santa cruz to hollister. These guys are very professional and most importantly very efficient. I hate moving. Its time consuming and hard work. These guys will make your life much easier. They charge $85 an hour for three guys but its totally worth it. I scheduled a move out time with them at the last minute. Ronald was very accomodating and squeezed me in their busy schedule. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Wed Dec 17 2008Wow! I cannot believe all these five star ratings for this moving company. All I can say is please do your research before you decide to use this moving company. They make many promises but renege on all of them once they come to your place. We used them last spring. Unfortunately, we were in a rush and did not do our due diligence in researching this company. We contracted with them to have three guys to come out for the move. One of the guys who came apparently was a newby because the other guys were training him on how to load and package our belongings (please be aware that they are working on time). On the ride back to our new place, they stopped off for lunch and only admitted after I asked what took them so long. Considering that I stayed behind to clean up my place and left 45 minutes later, I still made it there 15 minutes before them. If you do decide to use them, I highly recommend you have everything written out otherwise they will add additional charges and will re... Read more

Sat Nov 08 2008Beware Movers!!! This company will entice you with a low estimate. Do not be fooled. Their CA Public Utilities Commission Permit was suspended on 10/13/2008 and is still suspended as of 11/09/2008/ They are not legally permitted to move any belongings or get compensated per CA Law. They were also fined $ 3,600 in May 2008 by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The examples of the violation of federal laws are: holding shippers' household goods hostage, operating without proper legal authority, failing to follow tariff requirements, failing to provide shipper information, and failing to keep proper records. They do not give you copies of moving documents required by law. They also are very unprofessional. They rarely ever return phone calls unless it is about a bill. They falsify weight documents. They think you are stupid. They will try to take you for as much money as they can. DO NOT USE Better Way To Move. They have other alias' Chs, Transportation, Inc, We Are Moving ... Read more

Wed Nov 05 2008For all who have used this moving company in the past two weeks be prepared to receive the following email: We are installing new computers in our office and the software was accidentally set to charge credit cards automatically and your card was charged twice, please don't worry, we are taking care of it. Thank you for understanding, ### Billing dept. Better way to move I waited and waited. The charges remained on my credit card. I called twice and emailed Sean Richards on Monday Nov. 3rd and was told that the charges would be taken off. Fast forward to today, I called AGAIN, and talked to Sean Richards, he was RUDE and unpleasant. I finally had to call my credit card company to dispute the charges. They'll deal with the moving Company. Stay away.

Mon Oct 27 2008Regarding move this company made for me on Friday, Oct 24, 2008: My e-mailed quote was 3 men/$80 plus $20 fuel surcharge with a 3 hour minimum. I spoke with Mike two times on the phone; I emailed him an Excel file of my belongings and again verbally told them (Stevens Moving) what belongings I had to move. I had two calls with Mike assuring me my one-bedroom move would take 3 hours. They slow-walked the move and took from 9 am to 7 pm to move my belongings 20 minutes from one house to the other. They charged me an additional $1994 for packing tape and bubble wrap. After negotiating $400 from the bill, my move cost me more than $2700. The three men who moved my belongings kept referring to me, in Spanish, in derogatory terms for a gay person; they didn't know I spoke Spanish. Agreed upon quote via email was 3 men/$80/hr plus $20 travel time. Paper I signed at time of move was to OK packing tape and bubble wrap only. They would not unload my belongings until I paid the entire amount. O... Read more

Thu Aug 28 2008Here's another glowing 5-star review to add to the mix! The team of Better way to move that showed up last weekend to help me move out of my 3rd floor, 2-bedroom condo in Oakland to san francisco was awesome! issac, daniel, eric and john (hope I got those right) were on time, fun, friendly and yes - FAST! These guys moved through my condo like a swarm of army ants. Anything that got put in the general "things to be moved" area got swept away so fast that I found myself mostly standing at gawking at the whole process instead of cleaning up the rest of the place like I'd intended to do. I expected a crew of big burly men and at least a couple of hand trucks on which they'd stack the boxes to roll them down to the truck. Well only one of them could really be called burly but these things did not matter. These guys were "beasts", as my husband josh put it. They stacked my boxes, big and small, on their BACKS and just hauled em outta there like they were packed with feathers. I could ... Read more

Sat Jul 05 2008I just moved from my shared Pac Heights apartment into my own place near Fort Mason. I was nervous about movers because I didn't want them to accidentally move any of roommate's stuff, he was staying in the old place. I was also wary because my only experience in the past was with Starving Students on the peninsula, and they were just rude and not very careful with my furniture. I booked these guys for a Thursday morning move. I was told they'd arrive between 8-9 in the morning. Three very courteous men from Better way to move showed up at 8:10AM to start moving all of my stuff. They easily took all of my stuff down three flights and into their truck. None of my roommate's stuff was touched, and they were very respectful while in the apartment. They drove straight to my new place, and didn't waste any time unloading my stuff into my new place (up a three story winding staircase with no complaints). This was by far the least stressful move I've ever gone through. -They had ward... Read more

Fri Jun 13 2008In the 2 years I have lived in San Francisco, I have moved 3 times... and each time used movers - I'm lazy. The first couple of times I went with the moving company that employs students who are starving. Yeah, I realized quickly they weren't really students nor were they starving. On my second move, they took their sweet time to load & unload (over 7 hours) to move a 1 bedroom from Hayes Valley to the Marina. These experiences prompted my good friends to refer Better Way To Move for my 3rd move. Unbelievable difference! The 3 guys from Better Way To Move arrived 15 mins early to take a look at the apartment, prepare an estimate, prepare an inventory of my furniture and boxes, and write up all the paperwork. They explained every detail and were extremely professional and respectful of me and my c r*ap; always calling me Mr. or Sir. (while I don't expect people to do that and would rather they call me by my first name it's better than "HEY" like those hungry students). The day of... Read more

Fri May 23 2008About a week ago, my girlfriend and I began to make plans for our move from Los Angeles to San jose. We needed some assistance in loading and unloading a full rental truck. After some research, we ended up calling better way to move. First impressions were wonderful:Doris was congenial and willing to accommodate our needs, including the possibility of having her guys carry large pieces of furniture up three flights of stairs. We set an appointment date, and agreed on a nice wide time frame for my arrival in San Francisco. As I was driving up to S.F., many calls were exchanged in which my estimated time of arrival was refined to 2pm. I ended up arriving in San Francisco a bit before 2pm. As I was pulling off the freeway, I received a call from better way to move in which I was told that my guys were out on another job, and that I might need to wait 30 minutes. So here I am, driving a huge Budget truck, looking for a place to park--or even double-park--for 30 minutes in San Franc... Read more

Mon May 19 2008I used Better way to move Moving Systems for my long distance move from Cali to Ney york. The estimator that came out from Better way was nice to work with. The bid that I received was actually one of the lowest that I received. This made me a bit skeptical, because the lowest bidder is seldom the best choice. Yet, after doing some thorough web research, and reading reviews, I decided to give them a shot. Better way to move consistently exceeded my expectations. They delivered as promised, and I didn't pay a single dollar more than what was on my "Binding Estimate" The day of the move, the crew showed up about two hours early. This was a bit annoying, since I wasn't ready for them yet. However, they were gracious and happy to wait in the truck until my girlfriend and I were showered and ready. The four man crew came into the apartment and jumped right into action. They worked fast. I couldn't even keep track of them. Absolutely everything that was in the apartment got packed ... Read more

Wed May 14 2008booked these guys because of the many wonderful reviews. actually, it was between better way to move and partner moving but they came in a little higher so i decided to go with better way to move. my gf and i did a 3-part move: get my stuff, get her stuff, then move our collective stuff to our new place. they gave me a 2-hour window for when they'd arrive and they were a half hour early, which was actually great since i wanted to get the party started. half an hour to load my stuff - zip zip zip because they pulled the truck right up to my door off of the driveway. unfortunately, h it traffic heading up to sf from los altos, but that's not their fault. a little slower at the gf's because she's on the 4th floor and only has a teeny elevator. they called in another guy to help out and the second part of the move went pretty smoothly. more traffic to go to the new place, again, not their fault - dang love fest! the finale ultimo was schlepping all of our stuff up a teeny elevator to a ... Thu May 08 2008Let me add my laudatory review! I found myself needing to move for the first time in 18 years, and with only 3 weeks notice! I called 3 companies and they were either booked for a month, or didn't return my calls regarding an estimate. I read about Better way to move on Yelp, and when I called them, Jack committed immediately to come out for an estimate in person the very next day. He gave me boxes and tape, and suggestions on how to pack. He communicated professionally and promptly each time I called him to give or get more information. The communication was extremely important, and I felt sure everything would go as planned after talking with him. The day of the move, Josh,Mike and Justin showed up as planned and moved me quickly and skillfully in less time than had been estimated. They did a great job and there was no damage. They even put adhesive carpet pads on the legs of all my furniture before they brought it into the new house to protect the hardwood floors. I highl... Read more

Mon May 05 2008I use Yelp quite a bit, but this is the first time I've ever written a review. This was also the first time I had used a moving company, so I was a little weary of what I would experience. I tried to call a few moving companies first based on the Yelp reviews, but of course, they were booked solid (I had called 24 hours from when I needed to move). So, I tried Better way to move at 7pm!!! and got in touch with Ron immediately. He was very personable, informative, and we were able to book their services immediately. Ron gives you an estimate on the phone based on the information you give him and then follows up with an e-mail estimate that summarizes the agreement made on the phone, which is very helpful. We had agreed to a rate of 2 men @ $75/hour. They have a three-hour minimum. For our move, we had done a lot of work ahead of time and had packed everything up in boxes first. We were moving from the third level of a house to a flat on a second floor. Dave and Charlie showed up on... Read more

Fri May 02 2008Thank you very much for assisting us with our move from the south bay Area down to arizona last week. You and your team at better way to move really made the move go as smooth as possible. The entire move from getting in-house estimate, move departure and the move in all went perfectly. Both Mike and James were very helpful and informative with the move process and logistics on the front end. Jonathan,Joe and the other two movers did a great job with the actual move------they were professional, had a great attitude, and moved all our stuff without a hitch. I will certainly recommend better way to move moving company to any of my friends or family moving to or from california. Once again, your efforts w/ assisting us on the move are greatly appreciated! Kind regards, Roger B.

Fri May 02 2008When I first came across Better way to move, I was so happy to find a local company. The crew came to my home for an in-home estimate and they gave me a price of $670. I had so many things in my home that needed packed properly, so of course I asked them about packing materials and labor. The foreman of the group asked me if I needed him to pack my LCD TV for me. When I asked about the cost, he proceeded to pack it for me free of charge right there to show me what needs to be done to maintain the condition of my 42' inch TV. The service was very professional from start to finish. I thought I ended up getting an amazing deal on my move because of all the packing materials I needed. Better way to move worked with me on this move and I will never forget their generosity. Thanks Guys!

Fri Apr 25 2008Better way 2 move was flawless. After my previous move, a nightmarish cross-town gulag courtesy of Starving Students movers, I dreaded handing my cargo to another pack of strangers for the trip from Sunnyvale to LA. But there was nothing to fear. I never thought I'd want to hug five sweaty guys until the guys at better way to move moved my stuff :) After several hours of Internet research, I settled on Better way to move for their consistently high rankings among SF movers and their competitve rates. They dropped by for an estimate and scheduled a move for the next week. Five guys showed up early and moved my stuff down a three story stairwell (no elevator) in less time than it took me to pack the silverware. They packed and handled my crusty old junk like it was King Tut's treasure on its way to the national archive. I didn't have a box for my plasma TV, so they built a custom crate in advance of the move based on the info i gave them (nice) They don't advertise, so word of mouth is... Read more
