Tue Feb 09 2010We had 2/dogs and 3/cats...all taken care of at Bethany clinic by Dr. Krisein Velasco......this past 18/mos we lost the two dogs and one cat...due to old age...we got a new dog and she has been a special addition to the family, and well taken care of as always by Dr. Velasco. Recently we had a serious problem with one of the cats ...He needed an operation and Dr. Velasco did the surgury and went to extra lengths with her off times to see him through what could have been the end of his life ...he has completely recovered...and even though he has been confirmed with cancer...she has given him an additional 6/mos to 18/mos time with us to savor him and say our goodbyes. She is truely a wonderful Vet...and a special animal lover...People who really care as she does, are a rarity and I would highly recommend her and this pet clinic to all that have pets. Dr. Velasco is first rate, and her talents should not go unnoticed. Ray & Ana Leech

Tue Jun 10 2008We have been going to Dr. Norman at Bethany Family Pet Clinic for over 14 years. He has seen us through the good, the bad and the ugly! I appreciate him and his caring staff so very much! We have moved recently but wouldn't dream of changing to another vet, we feel the extra drive is well worth the wonderful, compassionate and expert care our bulldog recieves from Dr. Norman. We also appreciate that he knows when to suggest a specialist if he feels it is necessary, as was the case with our beagle, Beejay, whom we sadly lost 3 years ago at the good old age of 13. Dr. Norman made sure we had his home phone and assured us we were to call even at night if we felt the need arise when we were nearing the end with our precious boy. He and/or his staff made several calls to check on Beejay and to see how we were holding up-that is above and beyond! They also made a generous donation to an Animal Hospital in our dogs memory- so kind and so appreciated. Now that we have our bulldog Lucy... Read more

Sun Apr 13 2008If I had known about this rating system I would have written long ago! I can number myself among everyone else who is very thankful for being clients at this clinic. Although the Vet I see most often is Dr Norman, I can say that anyone I have ever gone to has been professional, kind, compassionate and thurough. I had seen Dr Norman with a number of rescues (he actively gives his assistance to at least one rescue group) and now for the past 10 years, my Irish Wolfhounds. Being a rare breed, a Giant, and a sighthound, there are specific issues or alternative forms of treatment that, if unfamiliar with - he has taken time to hear about, or research. On new or different information he has ALWAYS treated me with respect, even when we may have divirged on certain issues. And that respect is sorely lacking in a few other clinics I have gone to. If you are a breeder, or simply a very informed pet owner who dares to question (even engage in dialogue)with many vets, there is often a wall... Read more

Sun Mar 30 2008Dr. Norman has been our vet for 8 years, and he is very good. He cared for our two dogs from when we moved to the area until he euthanized them at our home. He is now the vet for our new dog as well. He is caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and patient. I think you can pay a little less for veterinary care, but I haven't gotten this same standard of care anywhere else.

Sun Nov 04 2007Dr. Norman is wonderful!. I've been looking for a good vet for my cat for a number of years and I finally found him (thanks to Citysearch and the below reviews!). He is very caring, takes time to explain things, is a great listener, and is genuine. He is simply fantastic ? Dr. Norman and Bethany Family Pet Clinic are the best!

Wed Aug 01 2007In 2002 we started to use Bethany Family Pet Clinic. Dr. Velasco is amazing - not only the care she has given to our dog but also the time and energy she spends consulting specialists to make sure our gal is getting what she needs. Last year we relocated to Washington and tried to find a local vet. but none of them lived up to our experience with Dr. Velasco so needless to say we make the two hour drive to make sure our pup gets the best care in the northwest!

Fri Jun 08 2007Dr Norman and his staff are great. My little baby, Skitty, was 17 when I brought her to see Dr. Norman. She'd been my best friend for years, having gone through a marriage/divorce and engagement/break-up. I noticed Skitty losing weight and not her normal sweet self. Some simple tests and we had a diagnosis. Dr Norman let Skitty and I set the course of her future and treatment. After four months, it was time for Skitty to pass on. Dr Norman and the staff let me and Skitty have pleny of time. He then took care of all the arrangements for her cremation. The compassion and understanding by everyone, Dr Norman and the staff, are exactly what every pet owner needs.

Thu Mar 29 2007I would like to encourage all animal lovers in the Portland Metro area to visit Dr. Norman @ Bethany Family Pet Clinic. Dr. Norman really does care about your best animal friend. I recently had the misfortune of having to euthanize my cat. Even though it was truley the hardest thing that I have ever been faced with. I was truley blessed to have Dr. Norman and his staff to help me during this sensitve time in my life. My search is finally over! I am a loyal customer for life! Deana Harris

Mon Jan 08 2007Dr. Norman and the staff of Bethany Family Pet Clinic truly love animals. The kindness and compassion shown to my cats and I is truly unique. Dr. Norman especially has taken time out of his busy schedule to give my pets immediate attention, and has gone out of his way to help me not only through multiple illnesses, but several euthanasia?s as well. He even helped to bury one of my cats when the cancer had progressed to the point of euthanasing him. I would 100% recommend Dr. Norman and Bethany to anyone.

Sat Dec 09 2006I have a dwarf lab that is prone to many health related problems. At one point my dog Mustang was so sick she couldn't keep anything down. When I called Bethany Family Pet Clinic and told them of Mustangs issues they got me and Mustang in right away. We saw Dr. Norman that day and come to find out that Mustang was very sick. She stayed with them all day and when we came to pick her up he gave me a number to get a hold of him in case she wasn't getting better. I had to call him that night and he met me at the clinic. (Keep in mind that it was about 10:00 at night and he was spending time with his family) I can't express what that meant to me. Dr. Norman gave her one other shot and that seemed to fix everything. Its this kind of service that evey vet needs to provide. Bethany Family Pet Clinic is the BEST!!!!!

Sat Oct 14 2006Dr. Norman and everyone else at Bethany Family Pet Clinic are incredible! We've been going for the past two years and have nothing but great things to say. The staff are very professional and attentive and Dr. Norman takes all the time necessary to fully explain everything and answer questions in detail (doesn't seem rushed unlike most vets). We have had a number of veterinarians in the past and think that Dr. Norman and Bethany Family Pet Clinic are top tier!
