I came from out of town with my apartment in a Uhaul. They unloaded carefully and politely listened to all my needs. They put everything where I wanted it and set it up. Whatever I wanted they did without hesitation. The movers understood the meaning of customer satisfaction. I also liked the fact that I talked to the owner, Lynn Bernard, in setting everything up. She has a personal stake in the job going right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bernard Movers.

Krystian and Skip and the rest of the crew were on time, professional and did a great job. I moved out of an elevator building into a fourth floor walk-up and they were quick and even got my huge dining table around the turn. I will recommend Bernard Movers to my friends and family. Best movers I've ever had!

Marvin arrived ontime with 2 other coworkers. From the survery to the loading, transport, unload, and setup, was outstanding. These Men worked like no other movers I have used in my life. Highly recommend, No worries call Bernard Movers and the rest is easy. THANK YOU. A+

The team of Marvin, Gus and Anthony made my move as easy as possible. They were prompt on arriving, courteous, and very professional. Very knowledgeble of their trade and suggested some very good ideas in packing and storing. My mom had a bad experience with some movers, she them called Bernard Movers and they when they came they were professional,courteous, and fast. We were impressed at how quickly they worked getting the things out of the old apartment and into the new one. Thanks for having such efficient workers, Marvin, Perry and Curt were great. I moved a few weeks ago hiring a moving company for the very first time! I was truly amazed at the professionalism from the top to bottom. The movers were curtious, on time, and proficient. From booking my move to reserving elevator times, everything worked out better than to be expected! Thanks to Lynn and her staff!! You guys ROCK!!

We moved on a bitter cold day in December from the city to our new home in the suburbs. Krystian, Harold, Jose and Gustafo were unbelievable. They did a great job. They were so efficient and moved us so well under difficult conditions. I would recommend this crew to anyone moving. Thanks again for making our move so much easier!

I used their services to move from Chicago and despite the fact that there were some minor issues Ms Lynn when I talked to her was professional,took care of the blinds,and sent me adequate money for 1 missing item. I am very happy with her and her attitude and our misunderstanding has been resolved I definately would recommend her again and will use her services again!

Bernard Movers moved me last week and I was truely impressed. I have used other moving companies in the past and had not had the greatest experiences. Bernard Movers on the other hand was great. My sister is moving in a few months and I told her she should definitely use Bernard Movers. Lynn answered all my questions when setting up the move and made me really comfortable. The movers showed up on time, were very courteous, and even helped me set things up at my new place. I was really impressed. The price was also the lowest we have seen as well.

"KRISTIAN CREW" JANUARY 8th,2009 @ 11am I ABSOLUTLY HAD TO LEAVE A REVIEW FOR THE CREW WHO MOVED US! THIS WAS OUR VERY FIRST TIME EVR USUING A MOVING COMPANY, BUT I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS THE BEST CHOICE WE EVER COULD HAVE MADE! WE MOVED FROM A 2ND STORY APARTMENT TO A 3RD STORY APARTMENT, AND THE CREW THAT MOVED US WAS PHENOMENAL! WE HAD ALOT OF GLASS FURNITURE, A 275 POUND MARBLE TABLE, AND A 125 GALLON FISH TANK, AND NOT ONE ITEM WAS DAMAGE, OR DID I EVEN FEEL THAT IT WOULD BE. EVERY GUY IN THE CREW WAS POLITE, EFFICIENT, AND JUST AN ALL AROUND GREAT GROUP OF GUYS TO BE AROUND. WE ARE DEFFINITLY GOING TO USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, AND EVEN TRY TO REQUEST THE SAME CREW. THANK-YOU "KRISTIAN CREW" YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!

I wonder who is giving this place 5 stars....maybe it is the"family "who owns this shack! They are not even accredited with the better business bearue anymore,and they are simply cheats, i would never use them again or recommend anyone to use their crappy services. The are theives to be blunt and I am not surprised that they did not pay for any damages despite buying extra coverage, they kept on hanging up everytime I called...i ended up spending 1000$ to repair my damages which my job covered out of courtesy since they had told me to use these movers.

After reading the last reveiw I HAD to put in my own! The movers, named Chirstian/Hose/Larry did not show up at all! I paid for my elevator rental (they said 5 hours so I paid 22 $ per hour) reserved the elevator and a space where moving trucks can park (additional 45$) The promised time was 9 am, by 10:30 I was frantic,and NO ONE answered my calls, I too left about 5 messages for Lynn bernard (his voicemail is the only thing you can get now matter what number you call)And NO ONE called me back! My move out day was the 30th of june and since my furniture was not out,i ended up paying rent for the entire mth of july for my rental in hyde park and also since I had already signed a new lease for my new place I had to pay that rent for july too...! When I finally got a hold of Lyn Bernard on July 6th she told me that my information was not in her records and basically i was a liar! I eventually used Gabol movers who were awesome!

Not only did they charge me 1500$ more than what they gave me an estimate for they stole my stuff and damaged my place-took down blinds without my permission,trashed my fridge and bathrooms (i made the mistake of leaving my condo after most of the stuff was moved out, I was sick and needed to go to the doctor-broke my decoration peices and dresser,i had paid for extra insurance but 2 mths later i am still no where, have 2000$ in damages in my condo and the owner Lynn Bernard hung up on me saying she will not deal with me! Please never ever use these guys-and to think I paid 3600$ for 20 mile move from a 2 bedroom condo.

I'm am COMPLETELY thrilled and glad that I chose these movers. I have never hired a moving company before, and they made my transition seamless. MARVIN's crew was excellent. they were on time, they were friendly and personable. What I appreciated was how efficient they were. They didn't try to drag time out, they didn't try to use extra supplies to charge me. They worked constantly!! We laughed and chatted but they never stopped doing their job. There were a few odd ends that I had loose and they made no big deal about it. Pat and Shaggy were so cool! Marvin came in and did the paper work with my estimate and said what he thought was the best deal they could get me for my budget and time. Pat cleared my place all while making me laugh. Small talk made this day so much less of a chore for me. The move was a complete success!! I will never move without hiring movers. AND I will be sure to hire this specific crew.

The team that moved me yesterday was fabulous! I had heard horror stories from colleagues that other moving companies can be rude, bring the wrong size truck, etc. But everything went smoothly. They introduced themselves, were extremely friendly and professional. They worked well together, and did the job very quickly. The price was excellent, too. This is a great moving company & I got lucky & had a really great team.

We at Project Planning & Support, Inc. give five Gold Stars to John, Jim and Chuck! These strong, hardworking gentlemen arrived on time, were extremely cooperative and courteous, and had a great sense of humor! They were careful with all of our furniture and other possessions, had a great attitude in the midst of the hot weather and elevator problems, and made our actual move the most problem-free aspect of our entire relocation. They are real professionals and a great team! Our thanks also to Lynn, the Manager, who worked out a difficult and unique situation we encountered when planning our move. We were very well taken care of!

I had used this moving company before and they were great the first time...professional, on time and overall fantastic. Then, my landlord sold my condo and three months later I decided to use them again. BIG MISTAKE. The movers were supposed to be here between 9 and 10, and currently at 12:10 I am still waiting for them. I had called at 9 to make sure they were on their way, and I was told they were. I called back 3 more times, every time being told that they were on their way, until they finally discovered the van had been sent to another job by mistake (why they couldn't find this out at 9 instead of 11, I don't know.) The office has stopped taking my phone calls, I cannot get ahold of anyone, and the driver just called to ask for directions to my condo. I have no idea when or if anyone is actually going to show up. Their service is questionable and your best bet is to go with someone else. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend Bernard Movers!!! We hired them on July 29th to take a truckload from 1 house and 3 storage units and move it all under one roof-a total nightmare for us no matter which way you look at it. Our 4 guys showed up on time and extremely professional and never even blinked an eye when they found out how big the job was actually going to be. They totally rolled with it, they were fast, courteous, carefully packed and moved everything as if it were there own despite all the lugging and me barking orders on where everything was supposed to go (2 floors plus a basement!). They were a great bunch of guys and Lynn Bernard was wonderful on the phone which was why we went with them in the first place, well, that and she offered the best price around! My aunt will be moving in Sept. and I have already referred her to Bernard Movers. They totally made a potentially stressful move seem like such a breeze-they were great!!!

I work for a moving company in Atlanta, GA and had a shipment going to Chicago, IL. Because the 26ft truck was expected to be full and only my driver was going, I needed to find some help for the unload. After looking through reviews, I decided to call Bernard Movers. I could not have chosen anyone better. From the first call to Lynn Bernard to the final clean up, everything was taken care of professionally. My driver reported back with wonderful reports. He said the guys were professional, helpful, and very nice. He said he was glad that he had some "real movers" to help him and that Marvin and his crew worked great together. Even though there were complications (a broken elevator for the first part of the move to an 18th floor apartment) the crew stood by my driver through the whole thing. I will definitely use Bernard Movers again and recommend them to anyone who asks! THANKS!

My family used Bernard movers (now part of Doma Moving) twice in the last 15 months during construction of our new home. They were great. Ask for John's crew - we were lucky to get them twice. They are very hard workers, do not complain, take directions very well and are very careful while packing, loading and unloading. They went the extra mile including extra stops (both times) to our storage unit to drop off and pick up specific items. They even picked up wardrobe boxes that were re-usable 3 days after the move..and credited my card for the correponding amount! The overall price was right within the range of the quote...

We moved on 5-28-08. We lived in our two flat for 50 years and both families needed to be moved to different locations. We didn't think everything from two apartments would fit in the truck without making two separate trips. The team leader took a look at both apartments and determined everything would fit it their truck and everything did! They really know how to pack a truck; it was a work of art! They took great care of our things; they even wrappd the turntable of our microwave! The team was terrific. They don't waste time, individually these guys carried really heavy stuff. This is our first ever move and we would highly recommend their services to anyone! They worked just as hard unloading everything at the new places! Great job, great workers, great owner and company!

This was the second time I moved with Bernard and I was equally as happy the second as the first. 3 movers with one truck - 3 hours and they had me moved. They went above and beyond, shrink wrapping my antique heirlooms and taking the time to fit a HUGE couch through a tiny door without any damage to either. These guys are old Chicago style - no bells and whistles here. . . just good service, quality guys, and consistent fees. Ask for John's crew - they are great! I highly recommend this company for any city move.

I recently used Bernard Movers for the second time and had another great experience. The movers were fast, friendly, and professional. The move was inexpensive and well worth the money! I would definitely use Bernard Movers again!!

I moved with Bernard Movers a couple weeks ago and they were great. The movers came right in and started working. They were very professional. I have used a couple other moving companies in the past and this is the first time I was pleased with the service. Great investment and would highly recommend them.

I have used Bernard Movers twice and also recommended them for my brother's move. In all three instances; their movers were prompt, effecient and hard workers. I was promised three men for each job, and actually had four for one without incurring any additional charges. They also completed my move from the southwest suburbs into a 3 story row home in the city in approximately 5 hours...and that is including the driving time!!! Nothing was damaged, not even a nick or a scrape, and all boxes were put into the appropriate rooms. They even offered to set up my bed, something I would have had to do on my own. Not only did they do an excellent job, with everything, you can't beat the price. I would highly recommend Bernard Movers and I already have for family and friends.

I was told that I would get 3 movers for a set amount per hour, and a flat travel fee. The movers showed up several hours late, and brought another person with them. They said I had to pay extra for this person, and the travel fee was more. The company not give me the option of choosing whether or not I wanted pay for the 4th mover. Only two movers worked hard, and the other two mostly stood around. Took 4 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment. One of the movers broke the glass for the fire extinguisher in my apartment, and a few items were damaged during the move. They did not bother to get directions to either location (addresses provided beforehand). The movers tried to invite themselves to eat our food, and attempted to nickel and dime us and charge for extra fees. Lastly, they never offered to compensate us for damaging the fire extinguisher, our furniture, leaving with one of our items they "forgot" to take out of the truck, bringing the extra person, or showing up several hours ... People in the office did not communicate well with the crew who will move my stuff; thus, movers came late, they complained that there was no elevator (the office people told them that there is elevator in the building), I was told 3 people will show up for my 2bd/2bh and 2 ppl showed up. It took longer than it was supposed to. Yes, it was cheaper than others but the service was not professional and no thanks I am not moving with them anymore.

I would definitely recommend Bernard Movers. The three men were all very nice and worked efficiently and quickly. They took great care of all of my furniture and paintings and made the move as smooth as possible. They were also inexpensive compared to other movers I tried and They were recommended to me by a friend and I definitely know why!

This moving company was very strange. They sent 3 small men who complained the whole time about the job. Older man was decent but the younger guys were either complaining or just lazy. I would not move with them again.

I recently moved into a second story apartment with Bernard Movers and thought they did an outstanding job. The care they took with my 52" big screen was incredible. Having had less successful attempts moving it in the past by myself , I know that that alone made the whole job worth it. I didnt experience any problems with them and would reccomend them to anyone.

Not only did they damage my furniture but they also stold time and the movers were second class movers. The movers were not fit enough for the move. They move like snails. All I had was a two room apartment to move and it took them 3 an a half hours. Above all of this they give your name to other companies for marketing . I never got so much junk mail. I knew it was them, because they spelled my name so wrong and all of the mail came with that exact spelling. So I put return to sender and send it to Bernard movers. I would not recommend this company even if it's free.
