Is there anyone who dislikes every flavor they got? I think not.

The lady of the house simply goes nuts for this stuff. She enjoys the sheer scope of actually shopping for the complex flavors. (Brings out the hunter/gatherer in her) As for me, I enjoy the quality of the product but do grow tired of having to decipher the actual flavor of the ice-cream amongst its very busy packaging/presentation. . . .but that is a small complaint. . .it's expensive but often worth it.

As much as I love ice cream...and I do, as my expanding waistline can attest...I've never been one to religiously follow one popular brand over another; if I can't easily find a "creamery" or non-chain ice cream shop that makes "home-made" ice cream, and I need to satsify the urge for ice cream, I'll grab whatever happens to be at hand in the local grocery store or "mini-mart" type of place. Generally speaking, that's Ben and Jerry's (or Haagen Dazs), because I do find Ben and Jerry's different flavors of ice cream, and combinations of flavors, sometimes intriguing. Then again, sometimes I'd just like plain ol' vanilla or chocolate chip rather than Stephen Colbert's Funky Fudge Swirl Supreme with Marshmallow and Butterscotch Cookie Chips, or whatever the hell they're selling this week. And, worse comes to worst, Shop Rite Ice Cream or Turkey Hill doesn't taste all that much different.

Good, quality ice cream. You can find it in the grocery store or at a Ben and Jerry's store.

Overrated. I had cookie dough B&J and the amount of it in there was downright stingy. Also its not nearly as creamy as it used to be. I bought my local grocery store brand premium ice cream which was $1 less a pint than B&J and it was noticeable creamier and had more bits in it. Overpriced, overrated, but they have cute names and packaging. Basically the whole thing is a marketing gimmick.

Well okay but Chunky Monkey is gross, I'm not going to eat bits of monkey chunks, how about making chunky chicken instead.

Cool names, cool combinations but a little pricey. Would love to go to VT to visit the factory.

On the rare occasions that I am sent out to purchase ice cream at the store (to accompany desert w/ a family meal), this is invariably the brand I select. It's just really well made and tastes great.

If you appreciate really good ice cream, and aren't a tightwad, then this, or Haagen Dazs are good choices for premium ice cream. I for one feel the need for a fix every once in a while.

Ben & Jerry's unique blend of different types of ice creams and baked goods make it worth while. My personal favorite is Half Baked. I love the combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, with cookie dough and brownie chunks mixed in. The size of the baked goods they put in their ice cream are the best I've ever seen in an ice cream. They put way more in than they do in other ice creams, but not too much so that it actually stays an ice cream. I also enjoy their unique names and the fact that they have a variety of low fat frozen yogurts in the same flavors as their ice creams to choose from. The down side: their expensive prices! It's pretty ridiculous for the amount of goodness you're getting.

great tasting rich creamy ice cream from an ethically responsible company.  I applaud their use of rBGH free dairy products (yeah, i know that studies say it's harmless, but I don't necessarily believe that) and ecological focus.  of course, it's not health food.  it's ice cream!  (junk food by classification) but given the choice of the general mass produced choices and Ben and Jerry's, I'll pick B&J;'s every time.  Yes, it's more expensive than everything else in the freezer case, but it's damn good ice cream from a company I can feel good about supporting so it's worth it to me.  (half baked is my weakness!)  ;)

This ice cream passes all of the critical checkpoints necessary to be classified as high quality ice cream: flavor, creaminess, variety, two former hippie proprietors, and most importantly: ARTERY CLOGGING GOODNESS. Seriously, this stuff rivals Haagen Dazs in richness. And, to be honest, 8 times out of ten I'll choose Ben and Jerry's. Their Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor is murderously good. Not too crazy about Cherry Garcia, but then again, cherries in my ice cream was always a "blecch" idea at best.

I like getting Ben & Jerry's ice cream from time to time. Their flavors are very different from anything else. It can be expensive, which is why I only buy it when it's on sale.

Some are good, and very tasty. But the problem I have experienced is that there's just way too much going on. The craziness of the names - while it distinguishes Ben and Jerry's from the rest, is a turn off to me. The case and point flavor here is Chunky Monkey. There is no way I'd ever try it. In college I did a project on these guys - it was easy because their headquarters were just a couple hours away up in Vermont - and they said that in some foreign land, I forget the country, they needed to take Chunky Monkey off the market, because the inhabitants bought the ice cream because they thought there would be chunks of real monkeys! They were very upset to find out the truth.
