With the economy the way it is..I knew there were other things I SHOULD use the cash for, but, it was my 57th..I deserved to treat myself. I had my brows--tinting and shaping, and my lashes done--tinting. My aesthetician suggested the navy blue. Said it would make my eyes POP! And it did!! I loved it! Brows looked great too!! Off to station #2 and a facial. The facial was wonderful!! The aesthetician took her time..both were kind and informative. When I got up, I looked in the mirror..and my POP ws a bit didmnshed...I figured well..this would happen after my first good face scrubbing. When I called THIS month for an appointment, I explained to the receptionist about the lashes..how disappointd I was that the POP went away almost as quickly as it appeared. I had an all around positive experience. It was quick, to the point, stress free, and well done. I came for an eyebrow appointment and it was perfect. Leslie did my eyebrows and she couldn't have done a better job. This place is truly a gem. The receptionist, Michael (I believe), was also very nice. These people know what they are doing and they make things happen the way they want them to be done. The place is as uplifting as the bright yellow walls!

Excellent eyebrow shaping and brazilian from Lesley. To be honest, I booked with her based on another reviewer and that reviewers situation - I am very pregnant so I was hesitant about doing this but figured I needed to get ready to endure childbirth so this should be bearable. Lesley did distract me with her conversation and was friendly and efficient. Not the cheapest place but very clean and worth every penny for this kind of service and her skill. I'd like to go back for a facial now...

I have been going to BellaPelle since 2005 and have always LOVED the results of the brazilian bikini wax. The salon is very comfortable and the rooms are super relaxing. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is becuase the scheduling/answering service is HORRIBLE. i don't remember it being like this when I first started going back in 2005, but they must have outsurced the schedulers becuase when you call to make an appoinment, it's like you are speaking to someone in another country. There is always a delay in the line after you speak, making you wonder if the scheduler is on some sort of walkie talkie....and that IF you even get a live person. I really think that they need to improve the scheduling service, but other than that, everything else about the salon is FABULOUS!

I just got the best facial ever from Josh at BellaPelle. He cleaned out pores in my face that I didn?t even know I had and I walked out feeling just as relaxed as if I got a full body massage. The unique techniques he used during the facial were unlike any I have ever experienced and the shoulder and neck massage that went along with the facial was fabulous!!! He just moved here from NYC where he worked in both spas and doctors' offices, so he is very knowledgeable about skin care and the products he uses. Most importantly though, he made me feel spoiled and pampered. ?And isn?t that why we all go to get a facials in the first place? :) Thanks Josh!

I'm one of those people that loves the results of waxing but hates the pain. I had a Brazilian wax and eyebrows. To my surprise it was as close to painless as I've ever had. On top of that... I am VERY happy with the results. I don't usually write reviews but after this very positive experience, I felt compelled. I should also mention that the lovely wax pro was named Elizabeth. She was experienced and very knowledgeable. If you would the like same experience, I would highly recommend that you ask for her!

I decided to have a little "pampering" before giving birth and considering, it was not more painful than the first time I had one. Leslie did my wax and she was awesome - perfect mix of being extremely skillled and friendly yet without any attitude or annoying chattiness. She also did a great job of distracting me with our conversation while she worked her magic. I was a little shy about it at first but she immediately made me feel comfortable. I am hoping to go to her next for a facial. Everyone there was friendly and the salon was really cool. Looking at the other reviews, I feel like everyone else has known about BellePelle, but either way I am happy to have discovered it!

Great estheticians! They give wonderful facials and do an amazing job with all types of waxing. Also, the custom made BellePelle line of skin care products is excellent.

I was in San Francisco for a trip, and needed my bikini wax done. I found the salon on Citysearch, and since it got such rave reviews, I thought it would be a safe bet. I have been getting waxed for many years, and have never been in so much pain after a wax appointment. My inner thighs were red and inflamed for 4 days, and the rash has only started to get better after almost a week! And now, it is 2 weeks later, and I already have a lot of growth. On top of all of this, this was the MOST expensive wax I've ever gotten and the staff kept pressuring me to buy products. Avoid this place!

My mom came into town and we needed a little skin love which we got @ Bellapella. I am not the easiest person to please when in comes to facials and my mom, who has extremely sensitive skin, is even more difficult to satisfy. My esthetician was Jill and she was really,really good; sadly, I don't remember the name of the professional who took care of my mom. Jill's extractions were so gentle I was in & out of a sleepy, happy haze. She listened to me when I told her I had some allergic reactions to bromeline (sp?) the enzyme found in tropical fruits and adjusted her facial regime so that I looked great after the facial and even better the next day. My mom was delighted with her facial. She had spent about 10 days in the high desert about a week prior & was in desperate need of some hydration which she got without any reactions to the products, which for her, is not easy. I came home one day feeling a lil on the "I haven't been out in the sun for 3mnts" side and with my sun sensitive skin I knew tanning beds were a definite no go. Besides why would u intentionally pay to damage ur skin...I mean...like c'mon.... Thank goodness for spray tan. Now that BellaPelle offers there bronze beauty its a one stop shop. I came out looking AMAZING! no orange. no disgusting funky stank. Just Glowing.

I've been waxing my legs for 10 years, and I've never, ever been injured in the process. Keri yanked my skin so hard I had a bruise on my upper thigh that lasted 5 dayss. Thank goodness there wasn't time that day for me to get a Brazilian. I specifically searched for SF waxing joints that looked to have competent staff, and I'm very disappointed by my experience. In addition, the bad phone service - he couldn't check on appointment availability b/c he was on the phone with credi card tech support - & the high prices make this place a poor choice.

i'd like to first make it very clear that i have decided to give bellapelle four stars (rather than five) solely because the ambiance and welcoming committee were fine, and just fine. for the location and the cost i was expecting a fresh fruit bowl and a plush room, not starburst and a box. gianna, however, was oh-so-fabulous! my last brazilian left me scarred <figuratively speaking> for life. after a year and a half i became so desperate, i even attempted to perform my own hair removal. needless to say, a jar of wax and a bottle of red later i decided that my next attempt to go bald would be the last if it were no less than perfect. i am now a wax junkie and will only see gianna, not only for the nether-regions, but for the brows as well (which i have not stopped receiving complements on since---not too thin and perfectly arched). her easy going nature made me feel completely at ease while i was assuming the most ridiculous positions; friendly and full of helpful hints. it was as quic... BellaPelle is hands down my favorite place to go to for waxing and facials. That said, they have GOT to get rid of whatever company they've hired to help schedule their appointments. (I think they use some sort of outside appointment scheduling service instead of having someone in-house.) I actually dread calling in for an appointment because I inevitably end up talking to some moron who doesn't know what the hell is going on. (Today, for example, the guy I spoke with actually laughed and stuttered when asking if I wanted a regular or Brazilian bikini wax. Really professional... He ended up being so unhelpful and confused, I just gave up on making any appointment at all.) Everyone who works at BellaPelle is wonderful and professional in every way, but their scheduling service really ruins it.

I visited Bella Pelle 10 days ago for a full leg and Brazilian wax. I am normally a Bliss customer in NY and would have visited their SF location, but they had no appointments, so I gave this place a try based on all the glowing reviews. The prices are the same. The person who did my waxing at Bella Pelle was very nice, but her technique was not good. She used too much wax which pulls at the skin and breaks the hairs off instead of pulling them out. For the Brazilian she did not use any skin oil. As a result, my skin was extremely red for 72 hours after the wax - normally, the redness goes away in less than 12 hours. The hair regrowth started in 8 days - normally, I can count on at least 20 days. I was very disappointed and I suggest that anyone considering paying so much for waxing should visit Bliss instead.

During my first brazilian at BellaPelle, the aesthetician told me that she wasn't happy with the results. I'd been shaving and hadn't had a wax in months. That, compared with brittle hair, caused breakage instead of the hair being pulled out by the root. The aesthetician told me that she'd finish the wax, and said if I came back in a few weeks, she'd re-do it at no cost. That's understanding customer service. Plus, they have TONS of candy all over the place for munching. I'm sorry, but that is just awesome. Candy is good.

I purposely waited 2 ? weeks to write this review in order to accurately assess the Brazilian Wax I received. I chose this salon/spa based solely on the reviews and I am 100% pleased. The first thing I noticed upon entering was how clean and orderly everything was. There was a bottle of champagne and the coffee table was full of up to date magazines and sweets. The next thing I noticed was the waxing room. It was as clean as the gyno?s office. Shelley, my waxer, was spectacular. At the time, I had no idea she was the owner for she was friendly (with out being overly chatty), and made me feel comfortable. I was warned ahead of time that due to the length of my hair, the process may be a bit more painful. She worked swiftly and effectively. I generally love BellePelle for Brazilians, but the lady I normally see left to live abroad and I went with Faye... I dont recommend that....she is very very nice but she was 30 minutes late to my appointment...chit chatting with another client friend and then....she was not able to pull the hair out by the roots...I had grown my hair out quite a bit so it was not too short but she basically broke it off at the skin line and then re-waxed me three times until my skin was sore but it was no good...I ended up leaving with stubble down there and rough skin....I paid for a brazilian and a full leg and ended up with her telling me that I should shave down there, grow it back out and then see her again....because according to her...it takes several times before you get smooth skin down there from waxing...WTF? I always get smooth skin with the hair is pulled out by the roots...duh. OK so dispite my bad experience - there are really good people there and I will be back but I am going to see... Read more

In Short Tucked away in an alley, this two-floor salon feels like a sunburst among the trendy shops. The reception area sports bright yellow walls and a pop-art sensibility. The shelves are lined with Bella Pelle signature products for the skin. Upstairs, private treatment rooms surround plush white couches that serve as a waiting area. Over a dozen facial and peel options are offered here as well as all-over body and face waxing. Tinting, package rates and bridal packages are also offered.

I have been getting Brazilian done for awhile, and I have been to a couple of places in the city. I do think that BellaPelle does a good job. But I have been to other places in the city where they charge about $10 less and do an equally good job, if not better. Also, I wasn't crazy about the phone receptionist girl. First of all, she couldn't understand what I was saying, and then she kept on calling me ma'am which made me feel super old...I guess this is a personal preference thing. But she seemed to have trouble finding the appt time as well. The staff at the studio was okay, not super friendly like some of the other reviewers said.

SHELLY IS AN ARTIST!!! If you want FABULOUS eye brows then Bella Pelle is a Must! The proof is in the brows, I always get TONS of complements on how great my eye brows look, and as if that were not enough to keep me coming back the staff and customer service is wonderful.

If you want to feel and look like a goddess - get eyelash extensions. They are fablous and look really natural (not fake at all). My friend got hers done around the same time at another place for alittle cheaper (a month ago) and hers are almost all gone. Mine, still going strong. Where she went they had her sitting up, and it took about an hour and a half. I was lying down in a private room, nice music, comfy bed, and fell asleep. It took 2 1/2 hours, but I'd rather have it take longer, be comfortable, and have my lashes stay on! I love waking up in the morning an looking fabulous!

I have been going to Bella Pelle for brazilians for years. Shelley is amazing! There are some reviews that say that the staff is under-trained. I can assure you that this is not true. Shelley takes her business very seriously. She only hires the best and ensures very thourough training. As a returning client, I have been watching Bella Pelle grow over the years. The place is a class act with highly knowledgeable aestheticians and a wonderful atmosphere. Bella Pelle is second to none.

I havent had their brazilian but I did get the best facial in San Francisco, by far, from Leslie at BellaPelle. (The next day I was carded for booze, which hasnt happened in years.) I got a petite facial and peel, along with brow waxing & tinting and eyelash tinting. Leslie was greatmade me feel comfortable and relaxed, explained what she was doing but didnt talk the whole timeand afterwards my complexion was super fresh and dewy. I get regular break-outs, so this was a real treatand my skin has stayed happy for the past few weeks. Also, my eyebrows came out excellent. Because I have blonde hair & eyelashes, sometimes theyre too dark after tinting. But this time, the color was spot on and its lasted for weeks.

The customer service at this place goes above and beyond your imagination. In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with anything...your concerns will be addressed and eliminated. The eye brow wax is worth every penny I could never go back to the cookie cutter brow waxing techniques at any other place after getting a brow wax here.

Lost a bet with my girlfriend and had to go through the brazillian experience. Shelley was great! Made sure I was relaxed and that I had fun. Would repeat - if I lose another bet.

I think the staff at BellaPelle is FABULOUS! I have thoroughly enjoyed several different services including facials, waxing, and eyebrows. I always leave feeling beautiful, peaceful and energized. Yes, Shelley is AWESOME, but her staff exudes the same talent, warm and refreshing personalities and exceptional customer service. I refuse to go anywhere else because no other place compares to BellaPelle. I dare you to go see for yourself!

I looked up Belle Pelle as I needed the phone number and saw the recent not so great review...I felt compelled to write as after my treatment, I just have to say that everything and EVERYONE is as awesome as usual. While Shelly is the vibrant force of Belle Pelle, all the staff I've ever encountered are skilled in their trade and extremely kind, patient and just awesome. I love the atmosphere and can't wait for their new space. I can only imagine how cute it will be! I've been going to Belle Pelle for 3 years now and love being a "glamour puss", AND will continue to go...btw, I HIGHLY recommend the numbing cream, especially if you are a Brazilian newbie...as skilled as any aesthetician (sp) is...it will still hurt in certain places!!!

I wouldn't consider going anywhere else in San Francisco for waxing. The staff here is great (it's hard to make waxing a pleasant experience but they come as close as possible!) and I'm consistently happy with the results. Both Jill and Jianna do amazing facials - relaxing and my skin glowed for days. They've also succeeded in setting me up with a skin care program that's tailored to me and really works!

If you want expert waxing and peels, Bella Pelle is the place for you. Shelly helped me grow in my badly damaged brows to beautiful arches. I've also had amazing peels here as well. Their products are to die for- better than any other I've tried.

i was in san francisco for the week and really wanted to get a brazilian wax--i'd never had one and was very nervous--my sister recommended bellapelle (she goes there all the time)--i was very apprehensive about the whole waxing experience (the pain and baring it all for a stranger)--but the staff at bellapelle were great! they made me feel relaxed and the waxing was actually a breeze--now, if only i could find a place this great in virginia:( oh well, all the more reason to visit fabulous san francisco again:) thanks bellapelle

I can't bring myself to try anyplace else. If you're a total wimp when it comes to waxing (me), go see Jill. You'll get the most painless Brazilian wax you've ever had in your life (notice I didn't say pain-free). I can't believe that I barely flinch during the entire thing and it's over before I know it. Although a wax will never be something I look forward to, Jill makes it bearable because she's so funny and puts me at ease right away. I am starting laser this month so I'll never have to endure the Brazilian again (yay!), but I'm gonna miss this place . . . sort of. I would recommend it to anyone.

Shelley is great. But, last time saw an employee. I asked about a certain type of facial. She told me my skin was too thin, then laughed & said, "Hope you have a plastic surgery budget!" Was getting a bikini wax at the time. OUCH. Apparently, I am thin-skinned, b/c I never went back.

I went to all of the places that specialized in waxing in SF (according to city search) after my long term waxer left to specialize on men. Belle Pelle won the reasons: * 3 types of wax * no double dipping (the wooden wand which holds the wax was used only once, this was the only place which did this) * professional * familiar with full brazilians

I went to Bellapelle due to the high rating from Citysearch. This was the worst waxing experience for me. I went there for a brazillian wax and they use a hard wax. A type that's applied and wait for it to cool before removing the wax. The wax was practically tearing my skin. I was swollen for the next couple days. When you go to any salon ASK what type of wax they use. If it's the hard wax, it is NOT WORTH IT!

Don't worry guys, Shelley is totally cool and will make you feel completely comfortable with anything you need done! I had the full meal deal body wax and it was fast and mostly pain-free (even the chest and brazilian!). Ask for the numbing cream and you're all set!! I've had waxing done before but not as efficient, professional and care-free as here!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, hands down!!

I've been seeing Gianna for skin care, facials, eyebrow shaping/waxing for many years. She is extremely skillful, gentle and you leave feeling amazing after any treatment at Bella Pelle. I highly recommend their Chiara Pelle products, as well as facials, and of course eyebrow shaping.

Ok, so nobody gets a Brazilian because it feels great, but if you want to clean up for the start of the summer bathing suit season, Jill Barkee at BellaPelle is amazing. Jill is skilled, professional, fast and most of all, she'll make you feel like your just there to have a conversation and a laugh. Jill knows what she's doing, so you can just relax and look forward to your new self. She uses great products (they blend their own waxes) and will teach you how to avoid any redness or bumps. She's great!

Shelley is excellent! She has done my eyebrows and my brazillian, and both were absolutely perfect. I will go nowhere else. I also sent my mom there, because her skin tone was uneven, and Leisa gave her a wonderful facial. They also have great products, that can be made to your liking. The Lighten Up Bar that my mom uses has her skin looking perfect, and I love their Gentle Wash w/ Shea Butter, and Chiara Medicated Body Polish. Try it, you'll love. The place is very chill, not stiff and snobby like the Claremont Spa. Bella Pelle is wonderful! They are also very sanitary, which is important!

A couple months ago I got my first bikini wax and I was very nervous about it because I heard how much it could hurt and how you can get ingrown hairs. A freind of mine recommended BellaPelle and she was right! Gianna did my wax and she did a great job. Not only that but she was very freindly and made me feel more relaxed about the whole experience. At the end of the appointment she even recommended a product that would help me avoid ingrown hairs and I have never had a problem. These women really do an amazing job and they are all really freindly. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been a loyal customer of BellaPelle since it opened its doors so thought I would check out what others have said. Of course, opinion is overwhelmingly positive. BellaPelle kicks butt! Bella Pelle was recommended to me by a friend in San Francisco. The first time I went in for waxing, it was such a pleasant experience that I never went to another salon again. Everyone working there is friendly, knowledgable, and good at what they do. Oh yeah, and I love those yummy smelling Chiara Pelle products, especially the Cherry Life Saver!

I went to dinner at a friends house a couple weeks ago and we got on the subject of eyebrows and bikinis. 2 of the women were bickering over whose waxer was the best and finally it came out that it was the same person! So, I just went to Bellapelle and tried it for myself - they really are terrific. Even the receptionists were friendly, which is a pleasant surprise.

First facial with Leisa - good. Second facial with Leisa - okay. My skin became pink and bumpy to the touch a day or two after the facial. This lasted for about a week. Third facial with Leisa - Shocked... When I got home an hour after the facial, I noticed 5 or 6 small circular red patches on my face . I'm horrified that I was walking around for about an hour without knowing. After two weeks, you cans till see dark colored marks on my face. I don't intend to go back.

The waxes here are great. Tehy are careful and the rooms are so peacful and comfy, I just want to sleep there. The price is a bit high but I have a Splendora card which gives me a discount. You also get a birthday discount.

Hey, I just have to say I'm loving the way my skin is changing right before my eyes. You ladies who go in for those fluff spa facials are missing the point and wasteing your money. I've been seeing Leisa since before she was at Bella Pelle and she made me see the light. Have one of the facial peels with a DNA treatment. Seriously, people are asking me if I've had work done.

I had been hearing about Bella Pelle for a while through friends in the know, and finally decided to check them out after my usual place messed up my appointment (again). Anyway, I called last minute and they were able to squeeze me in before the holiday weekend. I saw Lisa, got the best brazillian wax, felt instantly comfotable and she totally fixed my eyebrows, which I thought were a lost cause. I asked alot of skincare questions, this girl really knows her stuff, not to mention had the most beautifull tattoos. I'm definately fireing my old esthetician. I didn't know what I was missing.

Wow, I finally found what I was looking for. After many many horrifying binikin waxing experiences, I finally found the place that got it right. Bellapelle is the model for what skincare should feel like. It has a clean and professional setting accented with fun and variety of services. The Brazilian wax I had was undoubtedly the best ever, and I have been everywhere. Their attention to detail and comfort really impressed me. So, I went back and had a facial with their results oriented product. This is finally a place that takes skincare as seriously as I do, without being to serious. Enjoy!
