Terrible overpriced gin. I don't understand how this gin ever got it's good reputation. I would have rated it about 2 stars, because it's on par with harsh tasting bad gins in the low cost range. But Beefeater's is high cost and supposed to denote high quality. Because of high cost and poor taste, I give it 1 star. Seagrams is better than this for 2/3 the cost.

The gold standard in martini gins. Nothing better will ever be made. If you want your martini perfect be sure to use Noilly Prat vermouth.

Very nice Martini Gin. This is what Gin should be. Something that stands on its own.

Beefeater is an old favorite, with an emphasis on the old. This is a fierce, biting gin with soaring juniper and a crash landing into citrus. Its simple and tough, and the quintessence of London gin. Other London gins (Bombay, Tanq, Boodles, etc) have refined the style and classed it up, but this old fighter remains standing. For gin lovers only. Vodka drinkers beware!

The Beefeater martini is the height of human achievement. Complex flavors but not overblown like Hendrick's, its only rival among major gins is Sapphire. Those who find it too harsh should try vodka instead. Gin is not for babies.

To all the haters below writing reviews: if you don't like gin, stick to the Arbor Mist and Coors Light you are used to. Beefeater is good stuff. Definitely better in martinis than the over-advertised Tanqueray everyone is buying these days. It is very smooth and has less of a sharp bite than Tanqueray. Sure, Plymouth and Bombay Sapphire are nice, but for how much this gin costs, I wouldn't buy anything else.

A solid gin, classic and dry. Love it in a martini or on the rocks. Swell, swell as hell I declare. Old fashioned though, I think the kids aren't digging it.

Five stars in it's price range. Prefer Tanq. or  Bombay, but nothing wrong with Beefeater gin. Smooth mixer.

I'm not sure why some people are complaining of the taste? If you don't drink Gin do not review Gin, simple as that. As far as the quality of this Gin, it is bit on the generic side. The aroma of the Juniper berries is a bit lacking and the overall taste factor pales in comparison to other Gins but if you like a very ordinary tasting Gin that mixes well however doesn't have a lot of punch to it, this one is for you.

Beefeater was my first gin, and I have to tell you that firsts are not always bests. It's not a bad start, but I have found plenty of usurpers to the gin-throne in the time since we were first introduced (read: I found something better.)

94 proof classic English Gin- stuffy, old guard- the British Lion Still Roars! A Gin with great character. Great in a straight up Martini or Gin and Tonic- relax!

The real thing. No gimmicks or mention of botanicals. No frills excellence!

Someone would really have to hate their insides to drink this stuff. I think it should be used to strip a floor or to clean automobile fuel injectors.

This stuff tastes like it's been drained off a corpse.

It is not bad as a mixer with pinapple juice but as a shot, it was a little hard to swallow down.

Beefeater's gin: great if you want to see the beef you ate for dinner. Tastes terrible and burns as it goes down. For a better time, try rubbing alcohol.

It's a good quality gin that is well priced. It is easy to find at most liquor stores. It is good when mixed with tonic or various juices.

Many years ago a batch of gin was produced that surpassed any ever made before. When the producer looked in the Gin barells after it was drained, they found a dead dog. Since then, these fine English men have continued the tradition, only now they use beef and they eat it too!
