the beatles is a legendary rock band formed in the 60's the band consisted of 4 members John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney their songs were great and an all time hits most popular songs were let it be, michelle etc
Excellent example of a band. This one should be idolized by todays generation. Has a good music theme.
Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr together became the Beatles. The world went crazy with Beatlemania and even today over 50 years since they split they are the favorites of multiple generations of fans. People will flock to see cover bands just to get the feeling of what it would have been like to have been there back when. They had more than just musical talent. They were amazing songwriters even if at times some of them were a little out there. Their charm, looks, personalities and talent made them superstars.
People I love still listen to the Beatles=)
love the beatles!!!!
I absolutely love the Beatles! I grew up listening to them because of my aunt. They are amazing!
ONE OF THE BEST BANDS AROUND...THEIR LEGEND STILL LIVES
Very historic band which inspired a whole generation with its rhythms.
the Beatles nice
Followed this group for years; went to a 1966 concert at Dodger Stadium in LA.
The impact of the Beatles — not only on rock & roll but on all of Western culture — is simply incalculable. As musicians, the Beatles proved that rock & roll could embrace a limitless variety of harmonies, structures, and sounds; virtually every rock experiment has some precedent on Beatles records. As a unit the Beatles were a musically synergistic combination: Paul McCartney's melodic bass lines, Ringo Starr's slaphappy no-rolls drumming, George Harrison's rockabilly-style guitar leads, John Lennon's assertive rhythm guitar — and their four fervent voices.
Nothing on earth compares.
I do like the Beatles, I can not say they are a favorite of mine. They are in my variety of music. Their music has latest the test of time.
probably one of the best bands to ever exist!
I love their music and their charisma to the music world. Their music last for centuries and the became legends because of their music and culture. They are always one of the best bands in the world.

The Beatles are okay I guess, but, I really don't listen to them much.

It was a sad day when you feel you have to kill someone just because he is famous and came from a great group of singers and rock stars at that time they were the bomb
Great music in the 60's
True very good band; and if you remembered Lennon said things to mock God?
i dont really like them
never listened to them
When talking about the beatles I think he is a world that is remembered legendari bands of all time. I am happy with the lyrics of the song that I think is quite enjoyable. Anyway, the beatles are one of the legends in the music industry
Wonderful until drugs and John's mighty ego soured the group. Paul actually has the major talent.
I say the Beatles are a good source of fun music. I always like listening to their music and enjoy the uniqueness the songs of their well-created musical albums provide. It seems like eveyone has a fun time listening to their music when they pop up on on the radio or song mix... no matter who the listeners are, young or old. The Beatles are a true classic, I guess. Their songs are fun and safe to add to the background music songlist at any fun party or gathering, or even just to collect for one's own enjoyment. I think the Beatles are a great option for anyone wanting to listen to decent, catchy music.
Beautiful Post. Thanks
Hate the Beatles and hate their music.
The world began changing - for better and/or worse - with the rise of rock'n'roll (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Hank Ballard, etc.)... then there was schlock rock ( Fabian, Chubby Checker, etc.)... and American kids got turned off and turned on to folk music, and then came The Beatles who turned folkies onto Rock'n'Roll and then pissed all over it with their psychedelic English Music Hall album, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Rolling Stones had more hair (and more class); The Pretty Things had even more hair; and - at the time - I had more hair than the lot of 'em. Whether or not 'they were "Helpful or Harmful to Society" is debatable, but they sure got a lot of attention, and still do.
They're growing on me. I thought I'd give them another chance and I actually quite enjoyed most of Sgt Pepper's. Let's see if the rest of their albums do the same.
Bastards stole my acid.
maybe they helped people 40 yrs ago....their catalog isn't really producing, and it's lame pop music
Ummmmmm.... why are they on this list, anyway?
They have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and have brought me nothing but joy, so yes, I consider them helpful to society.
Great band but I think its important that we maintain the principle of the seperation of Beatles and State.
I'd argue that entertainers are pretty uniformly neutral, rather than helpful or harmful. They were damn entertaining, and made a lot of folks happy, which I guess could tip the scale towards "helpful." Although I suspect some of the people who were parents of teenage girls at the time of Beatlemania have a different opinion.
I like the Beatles and have since they started in the 60's. There songs remind me of different stages of my life (they spark a lot of memories).
They did some good work. And some that was straight up weird.
GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT
There is a saying that needs to always be remembered; "All things can only be fully understood in the proper context of their time". It's easy for anyone today to look back at The Beatles, or Elvis, or a trend like New Wave or Disco and say "Why was that so popular?" But unless you fully understand the times and environment in which all these things occurred, you will never understand why. Ultimately, it comes down to taste, what you like and what you don't like. I myself do not care how many millions of copies a particular record has sold, if I hate it, I hate it, period, and I think most people feel the same. The Beatles were innovators, saviors (rock was nearly dead when they arrived), and cultural icons. I don't care for all of their music, especially some of the silly psychadelic era stuff, but there is no denying that overall they created good, substantial, memorable music, and more importantly, they spearheaded a cultural revolution unlike anything ever seen before. they certainly have made some wonderful music for us to listen to. I do not know how helpful that would be just nice to hear what music they make.
Neither helpful nor hurtful. Whether you are a fan or not (I'm not, for the record), they're just a music group. On second, thought, they were kind of the orginal boy band, so maybe they were harmful to society in that they helped to unleash the likes of New Kids on the Block, and then more recently groups like N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys.
This group caused a lot of goofy attitudes and dress, i.e. the hippies and hair styles and more. The Fab Four provided a lot of good entertainment, however, so "four" is appropriate.
